The coupling of atomic force microscopy with infrared spectroscopy(AFM-IR)offers the unique capability to characterize the local chemical and physical makeup of a broad variety of materials with nanoscale ***,in order to fully utilize the measurement capability of AFM-IR,a three-dimensional dataset(2D map with a spectroscopic dimension)needs to be acquired,which is prohibitively time-consuming at the same spatial resolution of a regular AFM *** this paper,we provide a new approach to process spectral AFM-IR data based on a multicomponent pan-sharpening *** approach requires only a low spatial resolution spectral and a limited number of high spatial resolution single wavenumber chemical maps to generate a high spatial resolution hyperspectral image,greatly reducing data acquisition *** a result,we are able to generate highresolution maps of component distribution,produce chemical maps at any wavenumber available in the spectral range,and perform correlative analysis of the physical and chemical properties of the *** highlight our approach via imaging of plant cell walls as a model system and showcase the interplay between mechanical stiffness of the sample and its chemical *** believe our pan-sharpening approach can be more generally applied to different material classes to enable deeper understanding of that structure-property relationship at the nanoscale.

大型药柱的壳体粘结很少进行研究,往往成为火箭发动机生产中很困难的问题。当柔软的橡胶与坚硬的金属壳体粘结时,在粘结线上产生应力集中,会使成品发动机变得不能用。推进剂和壳体粘结的常用方法是采用可固化的胶粘剂包复层。业已证明,包复层和推进剂之间必须具有化学相似性才能很好粘结。本文列举了具体体现这一概念的粘结系统实例,并叙述其间有关的特殊化学反应。

采用密度稍重于和稍轻于流体的两种颗粒,研究了气泡驱动液固流化床内二元颗粒的流化行为。通过测量压差和拍摄视频的方法确定了初始流化气速Uin,g、固含率和气含率。重颗粒的Uin,g通过流化床底部的压差变化确定,轻颗粒的Uin,g则通过观察得到。研究表明,在气泡驱动的液固流化床内,重颗粒和轻颗粒的初始流化气速都随藏量的增加而增加,但重颗粒增加幅度更大。完全流化后,重颗粒固含率在轴向上分布不均匀,而轻颗粒则分布较为均匀。在二元颗粒体系内,上部轻颗粒的流化受到下部重颗粒的影响而底部重颗粒的流化不受轻颗粒影响,导致重颗粒Uin,g和固含率分布主要受自身藏量影响,而轻颗粒Uin,g随二元颗粒的总藏量变化。

Various studies have attempted to understand HIV infection under a diverse range of stimulants including cytokine stimulation. Pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α, have been shown to reactivate HIV latency by inducing NF-κb mediated activation of the HIV LTR (long terminal repeats) that contain κb transcriptional binding sites. Interferon-alpha (IFN-α), an anti-viral cytokine, is not well studied as an inducer of HIV activation. However, previous work from our group has shown that HIV can block IFN-α signaling in CD4+ T cells presumably to allow for further viral replication. Initially using HEK 293T cells, we moved to CD4+ T cells lines to develop a system to determine how stimulation with different cytokines impacts signaling within T cell lines. We confirmed that in our system TNF-α triggers activation of NF-κb driven reporters but not in the presence of HIV. In addition, we show that the presence of HIV blocks IFN-α signaling. Taken together, our system demonstrates that HIV by TNF-α, will continue to block IFN-α signaling preventing it from impacting HIV activation. This system can now be used to screen for cytokine based and other molecule activators that may be influenced by the presence of HIV.

Karst habitats are hotspots of diversity and endemism. Their naturally fragmented distributions across broad geographic landscapes have led to the complex array of smaller evolutionary ecosystems that present unique challenges from a conservation *** assessments of karst habitats have revealed that these ecosystems contain an almost unparalleled level of endemism, and many site-restricted species remain undescribed, thus posing considerable challenges for effective conservation *** rock-dwelling species, such as geckos, may be particularly prone to such isolation. In this paper, we discuss one such genus, i.e.,Hemiphyllodactylus, and explore its diversity across karst landforms in Yunnan Province, southwestern China. based on morphological and genetic data, we describe two new species of Hemiphyllodactylus from karst habitats in Simao District and Yanshan County. A phylogenetic tree for Hemiphyllodactylus was constructed using 1?039 base pairs(bp) of the mitochondrial NADH dehydrogenase subunit 2 gene(ND2). The Simao and Yanshan specimens can be distinguished from all other congeners within their respective subclades based on uncorrected genetic pairwise distances greater than 6.3% and 4.3%respectively, as well as significant morphological differences. The discovery and description of these two new species brings the total number of described Hemiphyllodactylus species in China to 14and indicates many more undescribed species from unsurveyed karst regions await *** findings suggest that karst ecosystems in Yunnan support a higher diversity of Hemiphyllodactylus than previously *** study also highlights the importance of karst ecosystems as refugia for sitespecific endemic species and the need for heightened conservation efforts.
