This letter presents an autofocus （AF） method to position a high-magnification microscope lens that automatically captures hundreds of images from a single moving slide. These images are taken by a mobile clinic unit in a rural location, and are later automatically processed and revised by a remote specialist. This process requires high focus precision to enable image processing techniques to achieve proper results. Low focusing times are also required for the system to be operative. We propose a novel method that combines two focus measures with an adapted searching scheme to cope with both constraints.

AIM: To evaluate the factors that influence outcome of both non-invasive and invasive treatment of polycystic liver disease. METHODs: Analysis of clinical files of patients with complete follow-up from July 1986 to June 2006. REsULTs: Forty-one patients (male, 7; female, 34), 47.8 ± 11.9 years age, and 5.7 ± 6.7 years follow-up, were studied. Alkaline phosphatase (AP) elevation (15% of patients) was associated with the requirement of invasive treatment (IT, P = 0.005). IT rate was higher in symptomatic than non-symptomatic patients (65.4% vs 14.3%, P = 0.002), and in women taking hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) (P = 0.001). Cysts complications (CC) were more frequent (22%) in the symptomatic patients group (P = 0.023). Patients with body mass index (BMI) > 25 (59%) had a trend to complications after IT (P = 0.075). Abdominal pain was the most common symptom (56%) and indication for IT (78%). Nineteen patients (46%) required a first IT: 12 open fenestration (OF), 4 laparoscopic fenestration (LF) and 3 fenestration with hepatic resection (FHR). Three required a second IT, and one required a third procedure. Complications due to first IT were found in 32% (OF 16.7%, LF 25%, FHR 66.7%), and in thesecond IT in 66.7% (OF 100%). Follow-up mortality rate was 0. CONCLUsION: Presence of symptoms, elevated AP, and CC are associated with IT requirement. HRT is associated with presence of symptoms and IT requirement. Patients with BMI > 25 have a trend be susceptible to IT complications. The proportions of complications are higher in FHR and second IT groups. Rs is more frequent after OF.

The authors prove the global null controllability for the 1-dimensional nonlinear slow diffusion equation by using both a boundary and an internal control. They assume that the internal control is only time dependent. The proof relies on the return method in combination with some local controllability results for nondegenerate equations and rescaling techniques.

The automatic definition of the ground from 3D point clouds has been a common process for the last two decades,with many different approaches and applications that can be found in a vast *** paper presents a comparison of three different methodological concepts for ground classification,in order to establish the advantages and drawbacks of each ***,a heuristic method,based on previous knowledge of the geometry and context of the 3D ***,a Deep Convolutional Network based on segNet that classifies 2D images generated from the 3D point ***,the third method applies a Deep Learning classification based on PointNet,which takes 3D points directly as *** validate each method and compare them,public and labelled point clouds from the Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland dataset are ***,the three methods are validated against the IsPRs 3D semantic Labeling Contest *** results obtained show that the deep learning-based approaches outperform the heuristic method,with F-scores above 96%.The best results were obtained using a shallower version of segNet,with F-score above 97%.

Low bone mineral density and the increased risk of fracture in gastrointestinal diseases have a multifactorial pathogenesis. Inflammatory bowel disease （IBD） has been associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis and osteopenia and epidemiologic studies have reported an increased prevalence of low bone mass in patients with IBD. Certainly, genetics play an important role, along with other factors such as systemic inflammation, malnutrition, hypogonadism, glucocorticoid therapy in IBD and other lifestyle factors. At a molecular level the proinflammatory cytokines that contribute to the intestinal immune response in IBD are known to enhance bone resorption. There are genes influencing osteoblast function and it is likely that LRP5 may be involved in the skeletal development. Also the identification of vitamin D receptors （VDRs） and some of its polymorphisms have led to consider the possible relationships between them and some autoimmune diseases and may be involved in the pathogenesis through the exertion of its immunomodulatory effects during inflammation. Trying to explain the physiopathology we have found that there is increasing evidence for the integration between systemic inflammation and bone loss likely mediated via receptor for activated nuclear factor kappa-B （RANK）, RANK-ligand, and osteoprotegerin, proteins that can affect both osteoclastogenesis and T-cell activation. Although glucocorticoids can reduce mucosal and systemic inflammation, they have intrinsic qualities that negatively impact on bone mass. It is still controversial if all IBD patients should be screened, especially in patients with preexisting risk factors for bone disease. Available methods to measure BMD include single energy x-ray absorptiometry, DXA, quantitative computed tomography （QCT）, radiographic absorptiometry, and *** is the establish method to determine BMD, and routinely is measured in the hip and the lumbar spine. This article shows the quality of services in a wireless swarm of drones that form an ad hoc network between them Fly Ad Hoc Networks(FANET).Each drone has the ability to send and receive information(like a router);and can behave as a hierarchical node whit the intregration of three protocols:Multiprotocol Label switch(MPLs),Fast Hierarchical AD Hoc Mobile(FHAM)and Internet Protocol version 6(IPv6),in conclusion MPLs+FHAM+*** metrics analyzed in the FANET are:delay,jitter,throughput,lost and sent packets/*** process was carried out with swarms composed of 10,20,30 and 40 units;In this work,the stage with 40 droneswas analyzed showing registration processes,and sentmessages sequences between different drones that were part of the same swarm.A special analysis about the traffic between drones(end-to-end)was carried out,as well as the possible security flaws in each drone and the current status and future trends in real *** future trends,in a real environment,we took as a starting point,metrics results obtained in the simulation(positive according to the obtained results).These results gave us a clear vision of how the network will behave in a real environment with the aim to carry out the experiment on a physical level in the near *** work also shows the experience quality from the service quality metrics obtained through a mathematical *** quality of experience model will allow us to use it objectively in the agricultural sector,which is a great interest area and is where we are working with *** in this article we show our advances for a business model applied to the aforementioned agricultural sector,as well as the data analysis and services available to the end *** services available to the end customer have been classified into a basic,medium,advanced and plus level.
