Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common histologic subtype of the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) accounting for about 40% of all NHLs. This is a case report about the endoscopic appearance of a DLBCL with infiltration to the stomach in a 39-year-old female. she had a 6-mo history of lumbar and left upper quadrant pain with intermittent episodes of melena. A computer tomograghy (CT) scan showed mural thickening of the gastric antrum. Endoscopic examination revealed multiple gastric ulcers. Definite diagnosis could be made by endoscopic biopsies and the patient had a good response to chemotherapy. This response correlated well with a further endoscopic follow-up. A follow-up endoscopic examination could be considered to evaluate a good response to chemotherapy in DLBCL patients with secondary gastric dissemination.

Glacial cirques are typical landscape features of mid-latitude mountain environments like the Central Pyrenees. Their morphology as well as their spatial distribution provides insights about past glaciers and climates. In this study, we examine the distribution, morphometrical and topographical characteristics of glacial cirques in two U-shaped glacial valleys located in the Central Pyrenees – the Aran and the Boí valleys. They are located in different aspects of this mountain range(north vs south) under different climatic influences that promoted distinct glaciation patterns during the late Pleistocene. The spatial mapping of these landforms was carried out using high-resolution imagery and field observations. We analysed the data of the morphometrical and topographical variables of the glacial cirques by using different statistical and geospatial methods in order tounveil the factors controlling their formation and development. A total of 186 glacial cirques were mapped in the study area, including 119 in the Aran and 67 in the Boí valleys. The local topography and microclimate conditions lead to substantial differences in both areas in terms of the morphology and dimensions of the cirques. Glacial cirques in Boí are distributed at slightly higher elevations than in Aran and they are also larger, though their dimensions decrease with elevation in both valleys. Aran cirques are mostly oriented NE, while Boí landforms do not show any prevailing aspect. Even though lithology does not control the distribution of the glacial cirques, some specific lithological settings may favour the development of larger cirques. In general, glacial cirques in the Aran and the Boí valleys show morphometrical properties similar to those reported in other mid-latitude mountain ranges.

Pre-mRNA splicing is an essential step in the process of gene expression in eukaryotes and consists of the removal ofintrons and the linking of exons to generate mature mRNAs. This is a highly regulated mechanism that allows the alternative usage of exons, the retention ofintronic sequences and the generation of exonic sequences of variable length. Most human genes undergo splicing events, and disruptions of this process have been associated with a variety of diseases, including cancer. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a molecularly heterogeneous type of tumor that usually develops in a cirrhotic liver. Alterations in pre-mRNA splicing of some genes have been observed in liver cancer, and although still scarce, the available data suggest that splicing defects may have a role in hepatocarcinogenesis. Here we briefly review the general mechanisms that regulatepre-mRNA splicing, and discuss some examples that illustrate how this process is impaired in liver tumorigenesis, and may contribute to HCC development. We believe that a more thorough examination of pre-mRNA splicing is still needed to accurately draw the molecular portrait of liver cancer. This will surely contribute to a better understanding of the disease and to the development of new effective therapies.

We introduce the differential polynomial of a graph. The differential polynomial of a graph G of order n is the polynomial B(G; x) :=∑?(G)k=-nB_k(G) x^(n+k), where B_k(G) denotes the number of vertex subsets of G with differential equal to k. We state some properties of B(G;x) and its *** particular, we compute the differential polynomial for complete, empty, path, cycle, wheel and double star graphs. We also establish some relationships between B(G; x) and the differential polynomials of graphs which result by removing, adding, and subdividing an edge from G.

In this paper,the influence of oxidation of automatic transmission fluids(ATFs)and sliding distance on the friction coefficients of a wet clutch in approached running-in conditions was *** ATFs were oxidized by a laboratory process approaching oxidation occurred in actual *** was evaluated by means of increase in carbonyl compounds and depletion of zinc dialkyldithiophosphates(ZDDPs)***,the changes in kinematic viscosity and viscosity index were ***-ondisk tests were conducted to replicate the actual sliding contact in a wet *** pin specimens were cut from friction material composite plates and the disks were actual steel separators both from an automotive wet *** coefficient, μ,was measured at progressive sliding velocity,ν,to obtain μ–νcurves at 26 and 100°*** μ–νtests were consecutively run using the same pair of specimens and *** cumulative sliding distance for each μ–νtest generated surface flattening using the *** friction coefficients of the wet clutch increased due to the ATFs oxidation meanwhile the dm/dv values decreased in most *** suggests that ATF oxidation can enhance torque capacity of the wet clutch,but it could reduce anti-shudder *** sliding distance improved the slopes in the μ–νresults using fresh ATFs meanwhile it generated a slope decrease by using aged ATFs.

soil erosion is one of the most serious environmental issues,especially in vulnerable areas such as the Pisha sandstone regions located in the Loess Plateau(China).In these types of reliefs,long-term studies monitoring runoff and soil loss are scarce,and even more considering the efficiency of different soil management techniques applied to reduce land *** this study,seven years(2014-2020)of in-situ measurements of surface runoff and soil loss for different land uses(forestland,shrubland,grassland,farmland,and bare land)in a Pisha sandstone environment at the Loess Plateau were *** applied the Water Erosion Prediction Project(WEPP)model combining the large database with the precipitation *** results showed that runoff volume coming from observed and simulated data exhibited significant differences among them depending on the different vegetation *** and soil loss were different among diverse land use types as follows:farmland>grassland>shrubland>*** conducting a calibration,we found satisfactorily simulated surface runoff and sediment yield based on precipitation regimes and land uses at sandstone *** performance of surface runoff was better than sediment *** range of standard error of the model simulation for event and annual values of runoff were 4.71 mm and 12.19 mm,*** standard error for event and annual values of soil loss were 4.19 t/hm^(2)and 21.86 t/hm^(2).In the calibration group,R2 of runoff and soil loss were 0.92 and 0.86 respectively,while Nash-sutcliffe coefficient(E)reached 0.90 and 0.85,*** the validation group,the R2 for both runoff and soil loss were 0.82 and 0.56,***-sutcliffe coefficient(E)were 0.77 and 0.54 for the runoff and sediment *** concluded that using a detailed monitoring dataset,the WEPP model could accu-rately simulate and predict water erosion in the hillslopes of Pisha sandstone area.

Aroma is central to the worldwide success of truffles as gourmet food and the high prices paid for these edible *** this study,volatile organic compounds(VOCs)from fruiting bodies of two Chinese truffles of commercial relevance,Tuber indicum and Tuber pseudohimalayense,were analyzed using headspace solid-phase microextraction(Hs-sPME)coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-Ms).We aimed to characterize the aroma profile and determine whether it would be influenced by provenance and stage of *** thus collected and analyzed young,middle mature and mature fruiting bodies of each species from different locations in Yunnan and sichuan provinces,located in southwestern ***,76 VOCs were identified,belonging to different chemical classes,*** and phenols,aldehydes and ketones,benzenes and methoxy compounds,hydrocarbons and amines.A large number of volatiles identified in *** and *** are reported here for the first time for these *** more than 50%of identified VOCs were produced by both truffle species,considerable differences were present in the aroma profiles of fruiting bodies collected at various maturation stages,revealing a dynamic pattern in the biosynthesis of ***,truffles of different provenance had distinct proportions of volatile constituents,suggesting that,besides genetic factors,edaphic and microclimatic conditions influence the synthesis of VOCs in a complex manner.

The nuclear factor kappaB(NF-κB)family of transcription factors regulates immune and inflammatory responses and controls cell survival,proliferation,differentiation,and apoptosis.1 The five subunits of the NF-κB family,(RelA,RelB,c-Rel,p105/p50,and p100/p52),are categorized as activating(RelA,RelB,and c-Rel),or inhibitory(p105/p50 and p100/p52),based on the presence or absence of the transactivation domain and form homo-and ***-dependent activation of NF-κB,either by the classical pathway involving the degradation of the inhibitor of NF-κB(IκB)or by the alternative pathway involving the partial degradation of p100 to p52 and formation of the p52/RelB dimer,has emerged as a central theme in the regulation of NF-κBdependent genes.2–4 However,in sertoli cells and some neurons,lymphocytes,and malignant cells,NF-κB has been shown to be constitutively active in the nucleus5,6(***/nf-kb).Moreover,several recent studies have also identified disease-associated mutations in the NF-κB subunits that affect their expression level and transcriptional activity.2,7 Our understanding of the ways in which the changes in the basal level of NF-κB affect the subsequent basal regulation of the expression of NF-κBdependent genes remain poorly defined.

Background:Athletes tend to have better visuo-motor performance than do sedentary ***,several basic visual-function and perceptual parameters remain unexplored to *** this study,we investigated whether differences exist in visual function,performance,and processing between basketball players and individuals without a sport-involvement ***:A total of 33 healthy men with no visual impairment or pathology were divided into 2 groups,depending on the involvement in sport(semi-professional basketball players and sedentary individuals).We tested their baseline heart-rate variability in the resting position apart from subjective questionnaires to determine their physical fitness level,and we checked their visual function,performance,and processing through an extended battery of optometric ***:The 2 groups differed in resting heart-rate variability parameters(pssimilarities in regular time practising sports per *** basketball players showed a closer breakpoint and recovery nearpoint of convergence,a higher fusional-vergence rate,better discriminability halos,and better eye-hand coordination(all p valuession:These results show evidence that athletes,basketball players in this case,exhibit better performance in several visual abilities in comparison to a group of individuals without sporting backgrounds,suggesting an improvement due to the systematic involvement of those skills during basketball practice.
