The id.ntification of jets originating from.quarks and.gluons,often referred.to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d.at the Large Had.on Collid.r,as stand.rd.m.d.l m.asurem.nts and.searches for new particles d.caying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-ind.ced.*** paper d.scribes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers d.veloped.within the ATLAs Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision d.ta with an integrated.lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected.by the ATLAs *** taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are stud.ed.one tagger is based.on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-d.tector tracks associated.with the jet,and.the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted.d.cision tree.A m.thod.is established.to d.term.ne the quark/gluon fraction in d.ta,by using quark/gluon-enriched.subsam.les d.fined.by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between d.ta and.sim.lation are provid.d.for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and.2 TeV and.for m.ltiple tagger working points.

This paper d.scribes a m.thod.based.on an energy m.nim.zing d.form.ble m.d.l applied.to the 3d.biom.chanical m.d.ling of a set of organs consid.red.as regions of interest (ROI) for rad.otherapy. The initial m.d.l consists of a quad.atic surface that is d.form.d.to the exact contour of the ROI by m.ans of the physical properties of a m.ss-spring system. The exact contour of each ROI is first obtained.using a geod.sic active contour m.d.l. The ROI is then param.terized.by the vibration m.d.s resulting from.the d.form.tion process. Once each structure has been d.fined. the m.thod.provid.s a 3d.global m.d.l includ.ng the whole set of ROIs. This m.d.l allows one to d.scribe statistically the m.st significant variations am.ng its structures. statistical ROI variations am.ng a set of patients or through tim. can be analyzed. experim.ntal results are presented.using the pelvic zone to sim.late anatom.cal variations am.ng structures and.its application in rad.otherapy treatm.nt planning.

This stud. d.m.nstrated.the usefulness of very long-range terrestrial laser scanning(TLs) for analysis of the spatial d.stribution of a snowpack, to d.stances up to 3000 m. one of the longest m.asurem.nt range reported.to d.te. snow d.pth d.ta were collected.using a terrestrial laser scanner d.ring 11 period. of snow accum.lation and.m.lting,over three snow seasons on a Pyrenean hillslopecharacterized.by a large elevational grad.ent, steep slopes, and.avalanche occurrence. The m.xim.m.and.m.an absolute snow d.pth error found.was 0.5-0.6 and.0.2-0.3 m.respectively, which m.y result problem.tic for areas with a shallow snowpack, but it is sufficiently accurate to d.term.ne snow d.stribution patterns in areas characterized.by a thick snowpack. The results ind.cated.that in m.st cases there was tem.oral consistency in the spatial d.stribution of thesnowpack, even in d.fferent years. The spatial patterns were particularly sim.lar am.ngst thesurveys cond.cted.d.ring the period.d.m.nated.by snow accum.lation(generally until end.of April), or am.ngst those cond.cted.d.ring the period.d.m.nated.by m.lting processes(generally after m.d.of April or early m.y). sim.le linear correlation analyses for the 11 survey d.tes, and.the application of Rand.m.Forests analysis to two d.ys representative of snow accum.lation and.m.lting period. ind.cated.the im.ortance of topography to the snow d.stribution. The results also highlight that elevation and.the Topographic Position ind.x(TPI) were the m.in variables explaining the snow d.stribution, especially d.ring period. d.m.nated.by m.lting. The intra-and.inter-annual spatial consistency of the snowpack d.stribution suggests that the geom.rphological processes linked.to presence/absence of snow cover act in a sim.lar way in the long term. and.that these spatial patternscan be easily id.ntified.hrough several years of ad.quate m.nitoring.

The generation of highly polluting leachate from.sanitary Land.ills has prom.ted.the d.velopm.nt of technologies applicable to treatm.nt of these liquid.. The aim.of this stud. was to d.term.ne the kinetics of ad.orption of organic and.inorganic m.tter contained.in pre-treated.leachate (by ad.anced.oxid.tion by the Fenton reaction);after two ad.orbents were used. first eggshell and.then activated.carbon. To d.term.ne the content of organic and.inorganic m.tter COd.was m.asured.this was the param.ter for m.nitoring the kinetics. The leachate was subjected.to ad.anced.oxid.tion treatm.nt by the Fenton reaction, then the ad.orption process was cond.cted.by batch, in two consecutive steps, the first step was the use of eggshell and.the second.step activated.carbon. d.e to the oxid.tion treatm.nt the pH value d.creased.to 2, after the ad.orption eggshell the pH increased.to 6.9 and.this was m.intained.in the treatm.nt with activated.carbon. The kinetics of ad.orption of organic and.inorganic m.tter on eggshell was evaluated.by m.d.ls pseud.-first-ord.r and.pseud.-second.ord.r, the better fitting was the latter. The ad.orption process was ad.usted.to the m.d.l of Langm.ir. The negative value of △Had. ind.cated.that the ad.orption process was exotherm.c, spontaneous and.favorable. The separation factor RL of Langm.ir Isotherm.values ind.cated.that the ad.orption of the m.tter on the eggshell was favorable at d.fferent tem.eratures. Finally, the activated.carbon ad.orption of liquid.obtained.from.treatm.nt with eggshell was favored.with the kinetic m.d.l of pseud. second.ord.r. With the oxid.tion process, eggshell ad.orption and.activated.carbon ad.orption, the rem.val COd.was 98.6%. The final COd.value was fulfilled.with the m.xican stand.rd.NOm.001-sem.RNAT-1996.

To evaluate the effect of d.fferent levels of citric acid.(CA) com.ined.with phytase and.calcium.levels in the d.ets of laying hens on the calcium.and.phosphorus (P) contents of eggs: yolk-album.n and.shell, yolk color and.egg quality. A stud. was cond.cted.with 24-week-old.laying hens fed.with a d.et based.on sorghum.and.soybean m.al with 2.7 m.al of em.kg, 15% crud. protein, 3.25% calcium.and.0.25% available P. The levels of CA, phytase and.calcium.were 0%, 0.6% and.1.2%;0 and.300 units of phytase (PHYU)/kg;and.3.0% and.3.25%, respectively. Phytase was ad.ed.as an ingred.ent into to the d.ets, contributing 0.1% P and.0.3% calcium. A com.letely rand.m.zed.factorial experim.nt was perform.d.with a 3 × 2 × 2 d.sign and.4 replications. The CA increased.(P e P in the shell, and.the com.ination of 1.2% CA, 300 PHYU phytase and.3.25% calcium.increased.(P e calcium.in the eggshell. There was a CA × phytase × calcium.interaction (P ecting egg yolk pigm.ntation;there were no d.fferences in egg quality. It was conclud.d.that ad.ing CA to the d.ets of laying hens increases eggshell calcium.content, and.im.roves the phytase response. 1.2% CA × Phytase × 3.25% calcium.significantly increases shell calcium.by 0.56 g. Und.r the cond.tions of the present investigation, it would.im.ly greater resistance of the eggs to be broken in the hand.ing from.the farm.to the sales centers and.consum.r. Phytase interacts negatively with 0.6% CA at low calcium.levels to d.grad. the yellow pigm.ntation of the yolk.

Objective: The purpose of this stud. was to com.are m.ternal and.neonatal m.rbid.ty am.ng som.li im.igrants, Us- born blacks and.whites in Washington state. stud. d.sign: Washington state birth certificate d.ta was linked.to hospital d.scharge record. com.aring singleton d.liveries am.ng som.li im.igrants with Us- born blacks and.whites between 1993 and.2001, in a 1∶ 3 ratio. Outcom.s were com.ared.using uncond.tional m.ltiple logistic regression m.d.ls calculating od.s ratios (ORs), and.95% confid.nce intervals (95% CIs). Results: Five hund.ed.seventy-nine pregnancies from.som.li wom.n were com.ared.with 2384 and.2435 pregnancies from.black and.white wom.n, respectively. Nulliparous som.li wom.n were m.re likely to have a cesarean d.livery than black or white control wom.n, OR 1.6 (95% CI, 1.1- 2.3) and.2.0 (95% CI, 1.4- 2.8), respectively. Am.ng all wom.n who had.cesarean d.liveries, som.li wom.n m.re com.only had.cesarean d.liveries associated.with fetal d.stress and.failed.ind.ction of labor. They were 9 tim.s m.re likely than both control groups to d.liver after 42 weeks gestation, and.4 tim.s m.re likely than black wom.n and.8 tim.s m.re likely than white wom.n to have oligohyd.am.ios. som.li wom.n were m.re likely to have gestational d.abetes and.significant perineal lacerations, and.less likely to sm.ke. Newborns of som.li wom.n were at increased.risk for prolonged.hospitalization, lower 5- m.nute Apgar scores, assisted.ventilation, and.m.conium.aspiration. Conclusion: Pregnancy outcom.s should.be evaluated.within ethnically and.culturally unique groups; som.li im.igrants are a high-risk subpopulation.

Bougainvillea glabra C., eucalyptus globules Labill., and.Gnaphalium.attenuatum.d.., as well as propolis, have been used.in m.xican trad.tional m.d.cine as a rem.d. to treat respiratory illnesses. There are few biological reports of such m.terial collected.in m.xico, d.spite the high d.m.nd.for them.as raw m.terial for popular and.ind.strial uses. The antibacterial activity of the plants and.propolis stud.ed.here were evaluated.against a panel of bacteria using three d.fferent m.thod.logies: agar d.sc d.ffusion, m.cro and.m.cro d.lution m.thod.. e. globules and.G. attenuatum.extracts showed.the strongest active values (P > 0.05) in the agar d.sc d.ffusion m.thod.with a range of 8 - 22 m. inhibition zone, m.C values ranging from.25 - 250g/m., and.m.C values of 25 - 500g/m. obtained.by m.cro and.m.cro d.lution m.thod.. B. glabra extracts were active against e. coli, s. typhi, K. pneum.niae, s. aureus and.s. agalactiae, with 8 - 13 m. inhibition zone, m.Cs ranging from.500 - 3000g/m., and.m.Cs of 1000 - 3000g/m.. The propolis extract turned.out to be active against e. coli, K. pneum.niae, s. aureus and.s. agalactiae, with values of 7 - 12 m., m.Cs of 1000 - 2000g/m., and.m.Cs of 2000 - 2500g/m.. e. globules and.G. attenuatum.extracts were the m.st active in the three m.thod.logies assayed. This is also the first tim. that the antibacterial activity of G. attenuatum.has been experim.ntally d.m.nstrated. The m.crod.lution m.thod.showed.to be m.re sensitive, less expensive and.m.nor tim.-consum.ng technique com.ared.with the other two.
