Productivity of White and Yellow Grain Corns in Campeche, México

The present work took place in the central and northern regions of the state of Campeche, Mexico. The grain yield was evaluated in a total of 46 materials, comprising 30 of white grain and 16 of yellow grain. The crop was supplied to a greater extent with rainwater from the months of July to November. The sowing was in trials designed to evaluate grain yield and technology validation lots established for demonstration purposes. To integrate a genetic material into this study, it was a fundamental requirement that it had at least four evaluations considering different locations or years. As a result of the above, it was determined that there are 27 hybrids of white grain and 14 of yellow grain, which constitute options for the producer with which it is possible to obtain yields of 4.1 to 6.0 t⋅ha−1 and that can make corn a profitable crop under the current conditions of technology application. Of the white grain hybrids, the group formed by sB-309, DK-395, DK-393, DAs-2382, sP-500, DK-390, P4082W, 9209W, P3966W, sORENTO, JC-25, LUCINO, and 9401W was considered as the high productivity stratum, whose average yield is 5.1 to 5.9 t⋅ha−1. similarly, in the yellow grain hybrids, the group formed 9107Y, sP-525A, 2B688, DK-7500, P4226A, IMPACT and DK-7088, was considered as the high productivity stratum, whose average yield fluctuated from 5.0 to 5.9 t⋅ha−1.

Mammillaria pectinifera is an endemic, short-globose cactus species, included in the IUCN list as a threatened species with only 18 remaining populations in the Tehuacfin-Cuicatlan Valley in central Mexico. We evaluated the population genetic diversity and structure, connectivity, recent bottlenecks and population size, using nuclear microsatellites. M. pectinifera showed high genetic diversity but some evidence of heterozygote deficiency （F15）, recent bottlenecks in some populations and reductions in population size. Also, we found low population genetic differentiation and high values of connectivity for M. pectinifera, as the result of historical events of gene flow through pollen and seed dispersal. M. pectinifera occurs in sites with some degree of disturbance leading to the isolation of its populations and decreasing the levels of gene flow among them. Excessive deforestation also changes the original vegetation damaging the natural habitats. This species will become extinct if it is not properly preserved. Furthermore, this species has some ecological features that make them more vulnerable to disturbance such as a very low growth rates and long life cycles. We suggest in situ conservation to prevent the decrease of population sizes and loss of genetic diversity in the natural protected areas such as the Tehuacan-Cuicatlan Biosphere Reserve. In addition, a long-term ex situ conservation program is need to construct seed banks, and optimize seed germination and plant establishment protocols that restore disturbed habitats. Furthermore, creating a supply of living plants for trade is critical to avoid further extraction of plants from nature.

Mangenese oxides were synthesized using two new methods,a novel solvent‐free reaction and a reflux technique,that produced cryptomelane‐type products(K‐OMs‐2).Oxides were also synthesized using conventional methods and all specimens were applied to the oxidation of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate,acting as models for the volatile organic compounds found in industrial *** catalysts were also characterized using N2adsorption,X‐ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,temperature programmed reduction and X‐ray photoelectron *** of the manganese oxides was found to be very active during the oxidation of both esters to CO2,and the synthesis methodology evidently had a significant impact on catalytic *** K‐OMs‐2nanorods synthesized by the solvent‐free method showed higher activity than K‐OMs‐2materials prepared by the reflux technique,and samples with cryptomelane were more active than those prepared by the conventional *** catalyst with the highest performance also exhibited good stability and allowed90%conversion of ethyl and butyl acetate to CO2at213and202°C,*** differences in the catalyst performance were observed,clearly indicating that K‐OMs‐2nanorods prepared by the solvent‐free reaction were better catalysts for the selected VOC oxidations than the mixtures of manganese oxides traditionally obtained with conventional synthesis *** superior performance of the K‐OMs‐2catalysts might be related to the increased average oxidation state of the manganese in these *** correlations between the catalytic performance and the surface chemical properties were also identified,hig-hlighting the K‐OMs‐2properties associated with the enhanced catalytic performance of the materials.?2018,Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics,Chinese Academy of *** by Elsevier *** rights reserved.

Two Tahiti lime （Citrus latifolia Tan.） experiments were carried out to evaluate the performance of eight standard rootstocks on two different soil locations at Tecoman Colima, Mexico. Rootstocks were selected by their tolerance to Citrus tristeza virus （CTV） and acceptable adaptation to semi-add hot tropics environment. The first trial was planted in ＂Cerrito de Aguilar＂（CA） location which had sandy-loam soil with a fluctuant water table at 100 cm depth. The second experiment was planted in ＂Crucero Tecoman＂（CT） on a sandy deep soil with no water table restriction. At CT location the best Tahiti lime growth, yield and fruit quality were observed on Alemow rootstock. The same combination at CA showed a poor performance and was affected by diseases due to high moisture conditions by the superficial water table. Taiwanica, swingle citrumelo and Rangpur lime rootstocks were less productive than Alemow, but showed a good adaptation and acceptable yield on both soil conditions. Among them, swingle citrumelo was a promising rootstock because it showed standard tree growth, good yield and excellent fruit quality. swingle citrumelo also showed an acceptable performance on soil with high presence ofPhytophthora sp. and moderate levels of calcium carbonate （near to 3,500 ppm）. Taiwanica and Rangpur lime performed well during the six years of the experiment, but trees began to be affected by root diseases. Better performance of most Tahiti lime/rootstocks were found on sandy depth soil than on superficial wet soils.

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were submitted to chemical and thermal treatments in order to incorporate different heteroatoms on the surface. O-, s- and N-containing groups were successfully introduced onto the CNTs without significant changes of the textural properties. The cata-lytic activity of these heteroatom-modified CNTs was studied in two liquid phase oxidation processes: catalytic ozonation and catalytic wet air oxidation (CWAO), using oxalic acid and phenol as model compounds. In both cases, the presence of strongly acidic O-containing groups was found to decrease the catalytic activity of the CNTs. On the other hand, the introduction of s species (mainly sulfonic acids) enhanced the removal rate of the model compounds, particularly in the CWAO of phenol. Additional experiments were performed with a radical scavenger and sodium persulfate, in order to clarify the reaction mechanism. Nitrogen functionalities improve the catalytic performance of the original CNTs, regardless of the process or of the pollutant.

The most frequent cause of pseudomembranous colitis is Clostridium difficile(***) *** type of colitis is characterized by an endoscopic pattern of numerous small,yellowish or whitish plaques diffusely distributed,which typically compromises the rectum extending to proximal ***,the pseudomembranes compromise only the transverse or right colon,but their exclusive localization over polyps has not been *** this case report we have described a patient with symptoms compatible with *** infection and positive for *** toxigenic *** examination showed two small polyps with a whitish surface,and histopathological analysis confirmed them to be pseudomembranes over tubular *** rest of the colonic mucosa was normal and no other cause was *** suggest that this particular distribution might be due to a higher affinity for dysplastic cells such as adenomatous polyps of colon by *** and/or its toxins.

Background: Crizotinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor of ALK, MET and ROs1. In a safety database trial, it was suggested an association of Crizotinib with the development of renal cyst in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NsCLC). Aim: To report an uncommon side effect of Crizotinib in a patient with NsLC. Case Presentation: We report the case of a 68-year-old woman with NsCLC who developed bilateral progressive aseptic renal abscesses during Crizotinib treatment. Conclusion: Further studies may be necessary to determinate the risk of renal cyst development and the management of these complications.
