Efforts to promote recovery of function after human spinal cord injury(sCI) will likely require interventions to rgeting the corticospinal tract(CsT) motor system:the most important pathway for voluntary motor control in humans.This system has historically been the most refractory to regenerative efforts after sCI.The "nonregeneration" of the CsT changed when robust regeneration of the CsT into spared tissue was demonstrated by the inactivation of phosphatase and tensin homolog and delivery of inosine.

Colorectal cancer(CRC)remains one of the most commonly diagnosed and deadliest types of cancer worldwide.CRC displays a desmoplastic reaction(DR)that has been inversely associated with poor prognosis;less DR is associated with a better prognosis.This reaction generates excessive connective tissue,in which cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)are critical cells that form a part of the tumor microenvironment.CAFs are directly involved in tumorigenesis through different mechanisms.However,their role in immunosuppression in CRC is not well understood,and the precise role of signal transducers and activators of transcription(sTATs)in mediating CAF activity in CRC remains unclear.Among the myriad chemical and biological factors that affect CAFs,different cytokines mediate their function by activating sTAT signaling pathways.Thus,the harmful effects of CAFs in favoring tumor growth and invasion may be modulated using sTAT inhibitors.Here,we analyze the impact of different sTATs on CAF activity and their immunoregulatory role.

Background:Guidelines recommend that adolescents should accumulate an average of 60 min per day of m.derate-to-vigorous physical activity(mVPA).However,using only this cut-off could hide important information.For instance,from a population-level point of view,increasing physical activity for those with no or low physical activity could provide more health benefits than increasing physical activity for those with intermediate levels.Also,including a more sensitive cut-point of≥1 days per week could be an additional strategy for identifying those with low access/opportunities for physical activity practice.Thus,the current study aims to estimate the prevalence of≥60 min of mVPA≥1 days per week among adolescents globally,and to describe any relevant gender inequalities.methods:We used representative datasets from 146 countries/territories collected between 2003 and 2019.mVPA was self-reported.Participants were grouped into younger(≤14 years old)and older(>14 years old)adolescents.Crude Poisson regression m.dels were used to identify the relative differences in≥60 min of mVPA≥1 days per week between boys and girls,and random-effects meta-analysis m.dels were used to identify the pooled estimates.Analyses were stratified by country and region.Results:Approximately 80%of both younger and older adolescents reported≥60 min of mVPA≥1 days per week.This prevalence was≥94%in Europe and Central Asia and North America,while the estimates for the other regions weremin of mVPA≥1 days per week was higher among boys than girls,with the largest differences occurring among the oldest adolescents(Prevalence ratio_(≤14y)=1.04(95%confidence interval(95%CI)):1.03-1.04)vs.Prevalence ratio_(>14y)=1.09(95%CI:1.08-1.10)).Conclusion:Approximately 8 out of 10 adolescents reported accumulating≥60 min of mVPA≥1 days per week,with notable differences between regions.Gender differences were observed in several countries,especially among the oldest adolescents.Priorities for physical activity promotion among adolescents

Novel mono-and bimetallic scorpionate aluminum compounds have been designed and characterized by spec-troscopic methods.These organometallics complexes,in combination with tetrabutylammonium brom.de as cocatalyst,displayed good catalytic activity for the cycloaddition of styrene oxide and CO_(2) under ambient con-ditions.Among the compounds tested,monometallic complex 3 featuring diethylamino groups showed the highest catalytic activity.This catalytic system catalyzed the formation of cyclic carbonate products from their corresponding epoxides at room temperature and 1 bar of CO_(2) pressure in the absence of a solvent in good yields and excellent selectivities.

六氟化硫(sF_(6))气体分解与泄漏现象日趋严重,给电气设备的绝缘性能带来了严重的负面影响,甚至对电气设备在运行过程中的安全性产生了极大的威胁。为快速有效地对sF_(6)气体的分解物(二氧化硫sO_(2)、硫化氢H_(2)s等)进行检测并定位泄露源,该研究基于高级精简指令集计算机(advanced RIsC machine,ARm)控制器设计了可以检测以上两种主要有毒气体的电子鼻系统。接着以模拟退火算法为基础,提出气体烟羽追踪方法,旨在解决气体泄露源定位问题。气体浓度检测实验表明,相比mX6商业电子鼻,该文自制的电子鼻系统的气体浓度检测相对误差在0.7×10^(-6)以内,可以有效地检测以上两种有毒气体。此外,考虑到以上气体具有毒性,以乙醇气体为气味源进行了气体烟羽追踪实验。结果表明,该文所提出算法的有效性和实时性较好,平均定位误差只有0.63 m。以上实验证明该设计的电子鼻及模拟退火算法能够满足移动机器人进行sF_(6)分解气体泄漏检测的应用需求。

With increasing life expectancy， neurodegenerative diseases have become one of the leading causes of ill-health in the elderly. Preventive strategies include following healthy diets， such as the mediterranean diet， which is particularly rich in polyphenols， bioactive compounds with neuroprotective properties. The aim of this study was to assess the association of microbial phenolic metabolites (mPm) with cognition. This cross-sectional analysis was performed with 200 participants of the PREDImED trial (Barcelona-Clinic recruitment center). A novel method based on liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry was used to identify urinary mPm (protocatechuic acid， enterodiol glucuronide， enterolactone glucuronide， urolithin B glucuronide， and vanillic acid glucuronide)， and cognitive function was evaluated with neuropsychological tests. multivariable-adjusted ordinary least squares regression was used to assess the associations between cognitive function and mPm， and a score was calculated as the weighted sum of mPm. A higher mPm score was associated with better frontal lobe function. Among individual metabolites， vanillic acid glucuronide was correlated with frontal cognitive performance. Participants with higher concentrations of vanillic acid glucuronide and urolithin B glucuronide obtained better scores in the Color Trail Test part 2. A higher score for urinary multi-mPm was associated with better frontal cognitive performance in an older mediterranean population.

In this work,three cytosine derived nitrogen doped carbonaceous materials(noble carbons,NCs)with different atomic C/N ratios and porous networks have been synthesized and used as supports for Pt Ru electrocatalysts in the ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)for clean hydrogen production.Both,the metal phase and the carbon support play critical roles in the electrocatalysts final performance.Lower NPs size distribution was obtained over supports with low atomic C/N ratios(i.e.,4 and 6)and defined porosity(i.e.,1701 m^(2)g^(-1)for Pt Ru/CNZ and 1834 m^(2)g^(-1)for Pt Ru/CLZ,respectively).In contrast,a lower C/N ratio and poor porous network(i.e.,65 m^(2)g^(-1),Pt Ru/CLK)led to the largest particle size and fostered an increase of the alloying degree between Pt and Ru NPs(i.e.,3%for C/N~6 and 28%for C/N~3).Electrochemical active surface area was found to increase with decreasing NPs size and the alloy extent,due to a higher availability of Pt active sites.Accelerated degradation tests showed that Pt Ru/NCs outperform similar to Pt Ru NPs on commercial carbon pointing at the stabilizing effect of NCs.Pt Ru/CNZ exhibited the best electrochemical performance(i.e.,69.1 m A mgPt-1),outperforming Pt Ru/CLZ and Pt Ru/CLK by3-and 9-fold,respectively,due to a suitable compromise between particle sizes,degree of alloy,textural properties and elemental composition.Best anodes were scaled-up to a proton exchange membrane cell and Pt Ru/CNZ was proved to provide the best electrocatalytic activity(262 m A cm^(-2)and low energy requirements),matching the values obtained by the state of the art of EOR electrocatalysts.

Evaluation of patient visual comfort and repeatability of refractive values in non-presbyopic healthy eyes

AImTo evaluate the intra-operator repeatability in healthy subjects using the WAm-5500 auto-kerato/refractometer and the iTrace aberrometer, to compare the refractive values and the subjective refraction obtained with both devices and to determine which of these three spherocylindrical corrections allows the subject to achieve the best visual comfort.mETHODsForty-two non-presbyopic healthy eyes of 42 subjects were enrolled in this prospective study. Refractive values were compared, evaluating the repeatability, the relationship between the methods and the best visual comfort obtained.REsULTssphere, cylinder and axis results showed good intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC); the highest ICC was obtained using the spherical refraction with the autorefractometer and the aberrometer, achieving levels of 0.999 and 0.998, respectively. The power vector (PV) was calculated for each refraction method, and the results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between them (P>0.05). Direct comparison of PV measurements using the three methods showed that aberrometer refraction gave the highest values, followed by the subjective values; the autorefractometer gave the lowest values. The subjective method correction was most frequently chosen as the first selection. Equal values were found for the autorefractometer and the aberrometer as the second selection.CONCLUsIONThe iTrace aberrometer and the WAm-5500 auto-kerato/refractometer showed high levels of repeatability in healthy eyes. Refractive corrections with the aberrometer, the autorefractometer and subjective methods presented similar results, but spherocylindrical subjective correction was the most frequently selected option. These technologies can be used as complements in refractive evaluation, but they should not replace subjective refraction.
