In this paper, we address the problem of dynamic pricing to optimize the revenue coming from the sales of a limited inventory in a finite time-horizon. A priori, the demand is assumed to be unknown. The seller must learn on the fly. We first deal with the simplest case, involving only one class of product for sale. Furthermore the general situation is considered with a finite number of product classes for sale. In particular, a case in point is the sale of tickets for events related to culture and leisure;in this case, typically the tickets are sold months before the event, thus, uncertainty over actual demand levels is a very a common occurrence. We propose a heuristic strategy of adaptive dynamic pricing, based on experience gained from the past, taking into account, for each time period, the available inventory, the time remaining to reach the horizon, and the profit made in previous periods. In the computational simulations performed, the demand is updated dynamically based on the prices being offered, as well as on the remaining time and inventory. The simulations show a significant profit over the fixed-price strategy, confirming the practical usefulness of the proposed strategy. We develop a tool allowing us to test different dynamic pricing strategies designed to fit market conditions and seller's objectives, which will facilitate data analysis and decision-making in the face of the problem of dynamic pricing.

In this study, the separation and drying efficiency of the excreta, separated into solid and liquid fraction by a flat conveyor belt under a partial slatted floor in a facility for fattening pigs, was determined. Two transverse slope angles (4° and 6°) for the flat belts were used, in a trial with pigs from 20.61 to 117.83 kg of live weight (LW), and the sample size was 7 pigs per pen, 42 pigs per room. The flat belt was more efficient with 6° than with 4° slope angle (32.65% vs. 29.91% dry matter content of solid fraction during the whole fattening period, respectively;P ° than for the 4° (1.4137 vs. 1.3030, during the whole fattening period;P °, this efficiency was not improved in finishing period -83.40 to 117.83 kg LW (two extractions per day) with regard to the growth period -20.61 to 83.40 kg LW (one extraction per day). Meanwhile, with 4° it did improved. The ventilation system underneath slat seems to play a key role in the obtained results.

BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC) is the second most common cause of cancer death worldwide. It is broadly described that cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) is mainly overexpressed in CRC but less is known regarding post-translational modifications of this enzyme that may regulate its activity, intracellular localization and stability. since metabolic and proteomic profile analysis is essential for cancer prognosis and diagnosis, our hypothesis is that the analysis of correlations between these specific parameters and COX-2 state in tumors of a high number of CRC patients could be useful for the understanding of the basis of this cancer in *** To analyze COX-2 regulation in colorectal cancer and to perform a detailed analysis of their metabolic and proteomic *** Biopsies from both healthy and pathological colorectal tissues were taken under informed consent from patients during standard colonoscopy procedure in the University Hospital of Bellvitge(Barcelona, spain) and Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital(Campus Can Ruti)(Barcelona, spain). Western blot analysis was used to determine COX-2 levels. Deglycosylation assays were performed in both cells and tumor samples incubating each sample with peptide N-glycosidase F(PNGase F). Prostaglandin E2(PGE2) levels were determined using a specific ELIsA. 1 H high resolution magic angle spinning(HRMAs) analysis was performed using a Bruker AvIII 500 MHz spectrometer and proteomic analysis was performed in a nano-liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometer(nano LC-Ms/Ms) using a QExactive HF orbitrap *** Our data show that COX-2 has a differential expression profile in tumor tissue of CRC patients vs the adjacent non-tumor area, which correspond to a glycosylated and less active state of the protein. Introduction: Canine mammary gland tumor is the most common type of neoplasia in non-ovariectomized bitches. Approximately 50% of tumors are malignant. Neoplasms originating from the mammary gland represent the most common neoplastic disease in canines in veterinary Medicine. Aim: Relate the expression of the receptor to progesterone (PR) with the tumor stage of canine mammary carcinoma. Material and Methods: Analytical-cross-sectional study, samples of paraffinized tumor tissue obtained from 30 canine patients with breast cancer were used. The expression of PR was performed by immunohistochemical labeling, using murine anti-PR (anti-PR Biocare brand). A descriptive analysis was carried out with the results using the sPss program. Results: The predominant histological subtype of breast cancer was tubular carcinoma with 12 patients, followed by papillary cystic carcinoma with 6 patients, solid carcinoma 5, carcinosarcoma 4 and comedocarcinoma 3. There was a significant trend between breast cancer subtypes, histological grade G1. Among the histopathological findings, the degree of invasion is related to the presence of tumor cells in adjacent lymph nodes, which is why it is a prognostic indicator. The expression of PR in the tumor tissue samples it was 42.8% positive versus 57.14% negative, of which 75% correspond to G1, 8.3% to G2 and 16.6% to G3. With respect to the relationship of the expression of PR vs type of tumor, it was found that 50% correspond to tubular carcinoma, 33.3% to papillary cystic carcinoma, 8.3% to solid carcinoma and 8.3% to comedocarcinoma. Conclusion: The hormone receptor was negative in more than half of the patients and histological grade is significantly associated with tumor subtypes, this study emphasizes the need to introduce receptor testing into our routine clinical practice to offer the best treatment for breast cancer.

Tubuliform silk glands were dissected from Nephila clavipes spiders,and silk gut fibers were produced by immersing the glands in a mild acid solution and subsequent *** tensile properties of the as produced fibers were obtained through tensile tests,and the stress–strain curves were compared with those of naturally spun tubuliform silk *** influence on the mechanical properties of the fibers after immersion in water and drying was also *** microstructure of the silk guts was obtained by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and infrared spectroscopy(FTIR).It was found that the stress–strain curves of the stretched tubuliform silk guts concur with those of their natural counterparts(tubuliform silk fibers).

A theoretical study of the influence of a quasi-electrostatic support on the amplification level of the slow space charge wave(sCW) in the amplification section of a superheterodyne free electron laser(FEL) was carried out. One of the ways to significantly increase the saturation level of the slow sCW is maintaining the conditions of a three-wave parametric resonance between the slow, fast sCWs and the resulting pump electric field. This can be done by introducing the quasielectrostatic support in the superheterodyne FEL amplification section. Also, it was found that the generated pump electric field significantly influences the maintenance of parametric resonance conditions. As a result, this increases the saturation level of the slow sCW by 70%. Finally, the quasi-electrostatic support significantly reduces the maximum value of the electrostatic undulator pump field strength, which is necessary to achieve the maximum saturation level of the slow sCW.

Male fiddler crabs own an enlarged claw which is a weapon and an *** enlargement of this claw begins from the juvenile stage and continues throughout *** may voluntarily lose(i.e.,autotomize)this *** several molts males may regenerate a new claw,called leptochelous,which acquires a similar length but a lower muscle mass area than the original one,called *** some species,regenerated claws develop permanently as leptochelous,the population having 2 discrete claw *** species present morphological variations with leptochelous and brachychelous being 2 ends of a *** the species Leptuca uruguayensis,we studied the morphological variation of this enlarged claw,whether it may be caused by its regeneration at different male sizes,and its consequences on mating *** found that claws could not be discriminated as discrete morphs,suggesting a morphological continuum from brachychelous to *** claws in the laboratory were initially small and proportional to body size,although a field experiment confirmed that claw size is recovered after several *** variation may be caused by energetic limitations where males of different sizes must differently trade-off between restitution of claw length(ornament function)or claw muscle area(weapon function).Fiddler crabs use 2 mating tactics with different levels of female ***,regardless of the mating tactic,leptochelous males were at a disadvantage at high densities,although not at low densities,suggesting that the consequences of autotomy and regeneration on mating success may depend on the social context.
