Degassing of deep-sourced CO_(2) from Xianshuihe-Anninghe fault zones in the eastern Tibetan Plateau

A large number of gases are releasing from the medium-high temperature geothermal fields distributed along the large-scale strike-slip fault zones in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan *** this study,11 hot spring water and the associated bubbling gas samples were collected along the Xianshuihe-Anninghe fault zones(XSH-ANHFZ)and analyzed for chemical and isotopic *** δ^(18)_(H_(2)O) and δD_(H_(2)O) values indicate that hot spring waters are predominantly meteoric origin recharged from different *** water samples are significantly enriched in Na^(+) and HCO_(3) due to the dissolution of regional evaporites,carbonates and Na-silicates.^(3)He/^(4)He ratios of the gas samples are 0.025-2.73 times the atmospheric *** ^(3)He/^(4)He ratios are high in the Kangding region where the dense faults are distributed,and gradually decrease with increasing distance from Kangding towards both sides along the Xianshuihe fault zones(XSHFZ).Hydrothermal fluids have dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)concentrations from 2 to 42 mmol l^(-1),δ^(13)C_(DIC) from -6.9‰ to 1.3‰,δ^(13)C_(CO_(2)) from -7.2‰ to -3.6‰ and Δ^(14)C from -997‰ to -909‰.Combining regional geochemical and geological information,the CO_(2)sources can be attributed to deep-sourced CO_(2)from mantle and metamorphism of marine carbonate,and shallow-sourced CO_(2)from the dissolution of marine carbonate and biogenic CO_(2).The mass balance model shows that 11±6% of the DIC is sourced from the dissolution of shallow carbonate minerals,9±8% formed by pyrolysis of sedimentary organic matter,80±9% derived from deep metamorphic origin and mantle-derived CO_(2).Among them,the deep-sourced CO_(2)in Anninghe fault zones(ANHFZ)is merely metamorphic carbon,whereas ca.12% and ca.88% of the deep-sourced CO_(2)in the XSHFZ are derived from the mantle and metamorphic carbon,*** average deep-sourced CO_(2)flux in the Kangding geothermal field is estimated to be 160 ta^(-1).If all the hot

L-Theanine (γ-glutamylethylamide) is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative known to have several beneficial physiological effects as a diet supplement, and to give an umami taste when used as a food additive. The compound is industrially produced by γ-glutamyltranspeptidase from Pseudomonas nitroreducens (PnGGT). Using recombinant PnGGT, we have shown previously that Trp385, Phe417, and Trp525 are key amino acid residues for recognition of acceptor substrates at the PnGGT active site. Here, we demonstrate that a recombinant W525D mutant of PnGGT produces L-theanine from ethylamine and L-glutamine more efficiently than wild-type PnGGT, attributable to an increased ratio of transfer activity to hydrolysis activity. An efficient production of L-theanine was achieved by immobilizing Escherichia coli cells expressing the W525D PnGGT mutant (E. coli-W525D) using 2% alginate as the supporting material. The highest L-theanine production using immobilized E. coli-W525D, representing a conversion rate of 90%, was achieved in optimal reaction conditions of pH 10, 40°C, and a substrate molar ratio of L-glutamine to ethylamine of 1:10. In this paper, we present a model characterizing the interaction of a radiative shock(RS) with a solid material, as described in a recent paper(Koenig et al., Phys. Plasmas, 24, 082707(2017)), the new model is then related to recent experiments performed on the GEKKO XII laser facility. The RS generated in a xenon gas cell propagates towards a solid obstacle that is ablated by radiation coming from the shock front and the radiative precursor, mimicking processes occurring in astrophysical phenomena. The model presented here calculates the dynamics of the obstacle expansion,which depends on several parameters, notably the geometry and the temperature of the shock. All parameters required for the model have been obtained from experiments. Good agreement between experimental data and the model is found when spherical geometry is taken into account. As a consequence, this model is a useful and easy tool to infer parameters from experimental data(such as the shock temperature), and also to design future experiments.

青藏高原东南缘分布的大规模超壳走滑断裂带和中-高温地热区释放大量深源气体.鲜水河-安宁河断裂带温泉水和逸出气体的化学和同位素组成分析结果显示,该断裂带的水-岩相互作用显著,深源含碳流体强烈释放,是研究大陆碰撞造山带巨型走滑断裂系统深源CO_(2)释放的重要地区.δ^(18)O_(H_(2)O)和δD_(H_(2)O)值显示温泉水主要来源于不同补给高度的大气降水循环;水-岩相互作用过程中,区域蒸发盐、碳酸盐和钠硅酸盐矿物的溶解作用导致温泉水显著富集Na^(+)和HCO_(3).温泉逸出气体^(3)He/^(4)He比值为大气的0.025~2.73倍,局部地区显示强烈的幔源He释放:^(3)He/^(4)He比值在断裂密集分布的康定地区最高,并以此为中心向断裂带延伸和垂直方向递减.溶解无机碳(Dissolved inorganic carbon,DIC)浓度变化范围为2~42mmol l^(-1),δ^(13)CDIC值为-4.0∼1.3‰,13C CO_(2)值为-7.2∼-3.6‰,Δ14CDIC值为-997∼-909‰.结合地球化学与区域地质资料,认为CO_(2)来源主要包括深部的上地幔和变质碳酸盐岩,以及近地表的海相碳酸盐岩和有机质.质量平衡混合模型计算结果显示,平均11±6%的溶解碳来源于浅层碳酸盐矿物的溶解作用,9±8%为沉积有机质热解成因,80±9%来自深部变质成因和幔源CO_(2).其中,安宁河断裂带深源CO_(2)主要为单一的变质成因碳;而在鲜水河断裂带深源CO_(2)中,约12%和88%分别源自地幔和变质成因碳.康定地热田平均深源CO_(2)通量为160t a^(-1),如果推算至青藏高原东南缘各类断裂带内的所有温泉,区域深源CO_(2)通量将达到10^(5)t a^(-1)量级.这一初步结果表明,非火山区深源CO_(2)释放量在全球范围深源碳释放总量中占有相当的份额,需要引起重视和深入研究.

The linearity, stability, accuracy and inter-day precisions of the assay method were evaluated in methanolic aerial-part extracts of Paepalanthus giganteus and Syngontnhus nitens from the Eriocaulaceae family. Their small capitulae hinder morphological analysis, and thus complicate taxonomic studies of these species, which present anti-ulcer, antimutagenic and antioxidant activities. Taxonomic studies of these plants revealed that the Paepalanthus genus presents flavonols and naphthopyranones while the Syngontnhus genus has flavone and xanthone as majority compounds. The prepared samples were analyzed quantitatively by High Performance liquid Chromatography with PDA detection for the presence of quercetin, luteolin, 3,6-dimethoxy-1,5,7-tri-hydroxyxanthone and paepalantine. The substances were recovered from these samples at rates from 98.01 to 99.99%. The coefficient of variation in the quantitative analysis of the sample com- pounds was under 5%. The linearity of the method was determined by linear regression. The analysis of the samples spiked with known amounts of analyte demonstrated that the response was proportional to the concentrations of the sam- ples with re-spective determination coefficients of r2 = 0.9999 (luteolin and 3,6-dimethoxy-1,5,7-tri-hydroxyxanthone) and r2 = 0.9998 (quercetin and paepalantine) for the linear range of the analytical calibration curves of the samples. The detection limits were 0.07 μg?ml–1 for quercetin and luteolin, 0.06 μg?ml–1 for 3,6-dimethoxy-1,5,7-tri-hydroxyxanthone and 0.10 μg?ml–1 for paepalantine. The quantification limits were 0.23 μg?ml–1 for quercetin and luteolin, 0.20 μg?ml–1 for 3,6-dimethoxy-1,5,7-tri-hydroxyxanthone and 0.33 μg?ml–1 for paepalantine by lC. The method was considered sen- sitive for quantification of the quercetin, luteolin, 3,6-dimethoxy-1,5,7-tri-hydroxyxanthone and paepalantine in plant samples.

Curcumin Inhibits Adipogenesis Elicited by Clozapine in 3T3-l1 Cells

Although clozapine (CZP), which is used for schizophrenia treatment, causes weight gain, the mechanism remains unclear. We recently reported that the naturally occurring compound curcumin (CUR) suppresses adipogenesis in 3T3-l1 cells. The aims of the present study were to determine the mechanism by which CZP induces adipocyte differentiation of 3T3-l1 cells, and whether CUR reduces CZP-induced adipogenesis. We found that cells grown in the presence of CZP had significantly higher triacylglycerol levels, numbers of lipid-filled adipocytes, and mRNA expression levels of CCAAT-enhancer binding protein α (C/EBPα) and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) than those grown without CZP. Treatment with CZP plus CUR resulted in major reductions in these four parameters. These results suggest that CZP enhances adipogenesis in 3T3-l1 cells via the C/EBPα-PPARγ pathway and that by interrupting CZP’s effects, CUR might be a potent agent for preventing CZP-induced weight gain.
