Sediment transport in headwaters of a volcanic catchment Kamchatka Peninsula case study

Due to specific environmental conditions, headwater catchments located on volcanic slopes and valleys are characterized by distinctive hydrology and sediment transport patterns. However, lack of sufficient monitoring causes that the governing processes and patterns in these areas are rarely well understood. In this study, spatiotemporal water discharge and sediment transport from upstream sources was investigated in one of the numerous headwater catchments located in the lahar valleys of the Kamchatka Peninsula Sukhaya Elizovskaya River near Avachinskii and Koryakskii volcanoes. Three different subcatchments and corresponding channel types （wandering rivers within lahar valleys, mountain rivers within volcanic slopes and rivers within submountain terrains） were identified in the studied area. Our measure- ments from different periods of observations between years 2012-2014 showed that the studied catchment was characterized by extreme diurnal fluctuation of water discharges and sediment loads that were influenced by snowmelt patterns and high infiltration rates of the easily erodible lahar deposits. The highest recorded sediment loads were up to 9-104 mg/L which was related to an increase of two orders of magnitude within a one day of observations. Additionally, to get a quantitative estimate of the spatial distribution of the eroded material in the volcanic substrates we applied an empirical soil erosion and sediment yield model - modified universal soil loss equation （MUSLE）. The modeling results showed that even if the applications of the universal erosion model to different non-agricultural areas （e.g., volcanic catchments） can lead to irrelevant results, the MUSLE model delivered might be acceptable for non-lahar areas of the studied volcanic catchment. Overall the results of our studyincrease our understanding of the hydrology and asso- ciated sediment transport for prediction of risk manage- ment within headwater volcanic catchments.

Designing and developing distributed cyber-physical production systems(CPPS)is a time-consuming,complex,and error-prone *** systems are typically heterogeneous,i.e.,they consist of multiple components implemented with different languages and development *** of the main problems nowadays in CPPS implementation is enabling security mechanisms by design while reducing the complexity and increasing the system’s *** the IEC 61499 standard is an excellent approach to tackle these challenges by enabling the design,deployment,and management of CPPS in a model-based engineering *** propose a method for CPPS design based on the IEC 61499 *** method allows designers to embed a bio-inspired anomaly-based host intrusion detection system(A-HIDS)in Edge *** A-HIDS is based on the incremental Dendritic Cell Algorithm(iDCA)and can analyze OPC UA network data exchanged between the Edge devices and detect attacks that target the CPPS’Edge *** study’s findings have practical implications on the industrial security community by making novel contributions to the intrusion detection problem in CPPS considering immune-inspired solutions,and cost-effective security by design system *** to the experimental data,the proposed solution can dramatically reduce design and code complexity while improving application maintainability and successfully detecting network attacks without negatively impacting the performance of the CPPS Edge devices.

在遥感领域,当前存在多种图像变化检测模型,但由于其准确性、性能和延迟,这些方法在变化检测方面各有优劣势,往往存在效率不高问题。这类方法的时间复杂度高,预测的准确性仍有提升空间。为了提供不同日期的地图变化检测解决方案,我们提出了一种基于LSTM与CNN结合的新型混合CNN模型。该模型将图像作为输入并转换为灰度以提取特征,根据像素值创建矩阵。此外,所提出的框架使用基于图像像素的欧几里得距离来提供地图中的图像变化检测,所提出的模型使用公开可用的数据集进行训练,特别是我们使用了1994年和2014年的阿根廷历史地图以及其他公共地图,以便评估我们的模型。我们所提出的模型基于有效的地图变化检测框架,可以用于识别在两个不同时间查看时在同一区域的地图上发生变化的地点。为了证明所提出的框架的合理性,我们通过模拟进行了比较分析,并证明所提出的框架在变化检测准确性和整体性能方面优于参考的基准模型。

Identification of resistant pharmaceuticals in ozonation using QSAR modeling and their fate in electro-peroxone process

The abatements of 89 pharmaceuticals in secondary effluent by ozonation and the electro-peroxone(E-peroxone)process were *** on the results,a quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR)model was developed to explore relationship between chemical structure of pharmaceuticals and their oxidation rates by *** orthogonal projection to latent structure(OPLS)method was used to identify relevant chemical descriptors of the pharmaceuticals,from large number of descriptors,for model *** resulting QSAR model,based on 44 molecular descriptors related to the ozone reactivity of the pharmaceuticals,showed high goodness of fit(R^(2)=0.963)and predictive power(Q^(2)=0.84).After validation,the model was used to predict second-order rate constants of 491 pharmaceuticals of special concern(k_(O_(3)))including the 89 studied *** predicted k_(O_(3))values and experimentally determined pseudo-first order rate constants of the pharmaceuticals’abatement during ozonation(k_(OZ))and the E-peroxone process(k_(EP))were then used to assess effects of switching from ozonation to the E-peroxone process on removal of these *** results indicate that the E-peroxone process could accelerate the abatement of pharmaceuticals with relatively low ozone reactivity(k_(O_(3))<∼10^(2)M^(−1)⋅s^(−1))than ozonation(3–10 min versus 5–20 min).The validated QSAR model predicted 66 pharmaceuticals to be highly O_(3)-*** developed QSAR model may be used to estimate the ozone reactivity of pharmaceuticals of diverse chemistry and thus predict their fate in ozone-based processes.

资本问题关系到中国合作社的未来,农民合作社独特的治理机制导致其存在内生的资本约束困境。本文对农民合作社运用社会资本优势破解资本约束进行了理论分析,然后通过案例检验现实条件下中国农民合作社如何运用社会资本优势破解资本约束困境。研究发现:合作社的价值理念决定了其财务资本获取是基于其社会资本;社会资本是合作社破解资本约束的内在优势资源,合作社利用社会资本可缓解资本约束的内在的成员激励以及现实中的资本控制问题;成员是合作社的根本,提高整体成员融资参与是破解合作社资本约束的根本途径,而实现这一途径的关键在于社会资本与财务资本的有效结合,即重视普通成员的利益诉求以及注意对核心成员资本贡献的激励。

Evaluation of a Heterogeneous Sensor Network Architecture for Highly Mobile Users

This paper presents experimental results of a heterogeneous sensor network architecture, which is a combination of a wireless sensor network and a personal area network. The proposed architecture uses the IEEE 802.15.4 standard to transmit sensor data to a sensor node which in turn forwards the data using TCP/IP to a database on the Internet via a Bluetooth-equipped mobile phone and the mobile telephone access network. The performance of the entire communication chain is evaluated. First, a 3G network's performance is evaluated by measuring its round trip time for packet transmission. Second, the real-world end-to-end delay between a sensor node and a database server on the Internet is measured using two different experimental set-ups: single-hop transmission and two hops transmission. Finally, the proposed architecture's scalability is estimated in a Matlab simulation using the results of the experiments as a base. The results show that the proposed architecture is applicable for small-scale sensor networks used by highly mobile users.

Since selective detection of multiple narrow spectral bands in the near-infrared(NIR)region still poses a fundamental challenge,we have,in this work,developed NIR photodetectors(PDs)using photon upconversion nanocrystals(UCNCs)combined with perovskite *** conquer the relatively high pumping threshold of UCNCs,we designed a novel cascade optical field modulation strategy to boost upconversion luminescence(UCL)by cascading the superlensing effect of dielectric microlens arrays and the plasmonic effect of gold nanorods,which readily leads to a UCL enhancement by more than four orders of magnitude under weak light *** accommodating multiple optically active lanthanide ions in a core-shell-shell hierarchical architecture,developed PDs on top of this structure can detect three well-separated narrow bands in the NIR region,i.e.,those centered at 808,980,and 1540 *** to the large UCL enhancement,the obtained PDs demonstrate extremely high responsivities of 30.73,23.15,and 12.20 AW^(−1) and detectivities of 5.36,3.45,and 1.91×10^(11) Jones for 808,980,and 1540 nm light detection,respectively,together with short response times in the range of 80-120 ***,we demonstrate for the first time that the response to the excitation modulation frequency of a PD can be employed to discriminate the incident light *** believe that our work provides novel insight for developing NIR PDs and that it can spur the development of other applications using upconversion nanotechnology.

＜正＞ Heat measurement errors cause revenue discrepancies in the district heating industry Some of these errors are static and can be estimated using standard error analysis, but the largest error source is the dynamic load such systems are subject to, as in the case of warm water tapping. The frequency at which heat meters estimate and update the energy is either constant or depends on the flow rate. The heat meter power consumption is basically proportional to their estimation frequency Since the heat meters most often are battery powered this is a sever limiting factor to the introduction of heat metering improvements in the industry. Heat meters with a flow rate dependent estimation frequency are usually based on volume-flow meters. They arc widely used in district heating due to their lower estimation frequency which prolongs their battery life Such meters are clearly inaccurate especially at low flow *** adaptive algorithm that adjusts its estimation frequency depending on the flow rate, is presented in this paper. This algorithm reduces the heat measurement error due to the dynamics of the system while keeping the battery life relatively long. The adaptive algorithm has been implemented and tested against traditional heat meters in a Simulink model of a district heating substation.
