Meiosis is a specialized cell division for producing haploid gametes in sexually reproducing *** this study,we have independently identified a novel meiosis protein male meiosis recombination regulator(MAMERR)/4930432 K21 Rik and showed that it is indispensable for meiosis prophase I progression in male *** super-resolution structured illumination microscopy,we found that MAMERR functions at the same double-strand breaks as the replication protein A and meiosis-specific with OB domains/spermatogenesis associated 22 *** generated a Mamerr-deficient mouse model by deleting exons 3 e6 and found that most of Mamerrà/àspermatocytes were arrested at pachynema and failed to progress to diplonema,although they exhibited almost intact synapsis and progression to the pachytene stage along with XY body *** mechanistic studies revealed that the recruitment of DMC1/RAD51 and heat shock factor 2 ebinding protein in Mamerrà/àspermatocytes was only mildly impaired with a partial reduction in double-strand break repair,whereas a substantial reduction in ubiquitination on the autosomal axes and on the XY body appeared as a major phenotype in Mamerrà/à*** propose that MAMERR may participate in meiotic prophase I progression by regulating the ubiquitination of key meiotic proteins on autosomes and XY chromosomes,and in the absence of MAMERR,the repressed ubiquitination of key meiotic proteins leads to pachytene arrest and cell death.

Current and future applications of in vitro magnetic resonance spectroscopy in hepatobiliary disease

Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy allows the study of cellular biochemistry and metabolism, both in the whole body in vivo and at higher magnetic field strengths in vitro. since the technique is non-invasive and non-selective, magnetic resonance spectroscopy methodologies have been widely applied in biochemistry and medicine. In vitro magnetic resonance spectroscopy studies of cells, body fluids and tissues have been used in medical biochemistry to investigate pathophysiologi- cal processes and more recently, the technique has been used by physicians to determine disease abnormalities in vivo. This highlighted topic illustrates the potential of in vitro magnetic resonance spectroscopy in studying the hepatobiliary system. The role of in vitro proton and phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the study of malignant and non-malignant liver disease and bile composition studies are discussed, particularly with reference to correlative in vivo whole-body magnetic resonance spectroscopy applications. In summary, magnetic resonance spectroscopy techniques can provide non-invasive biochemical information on disease severity and pointers to underlying pathophysiological processes. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy holds potential promise as a screening tool for disease biomarkers, as well as assessing therapeutic response.

Hurricane Ike,which struck the United states in september 2008,was the ninth most expensive hurricane in terms of *** caused nearly UsD 30 billion in damage after making landfall on the Bolivar Peninsula,*** used the Delft3dFM/sWAN hydrodynamic and spectral wave model to simulate the storm surge inundation around Galveston Bay during Hurricane *** curves were established through the relationship between eight hydrodynamic parameters(water depth,flow velocity,unit discharge,flow momentum flux,significant wave height,wave energy flux,total water depth(flow depth plus wave height),and total(flow plus wave)force)simulated by the model and National Flood Insurance Program(NFIP)insurance damage *** NFIP insurance database contains a large amount of building damage data,building stories,and elevation,as well as other information from the Ike *** found that the damage curves are sensitive to the model grid resolution,building elevation,and the number of *** also found that the resulting damage functions are steeper than those developed for residential structures in many other locations.

Postmortem CT in decedents with sARs-CoV-2 infection.A single institution experience

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by sARs-CoV-2 produced a global pandemic with significant *** autopsies are not routinely performed on all decedents with sARs-CoV-2 infection,postmortem CT(PMCT)may be valuable to provide additional information on the cause of death and risk factors known to be associated with an increased mortality in *** purpose of this manuscript is to review the PMCT findings in a series of 42 decedents with sARs-CoV-2 infection from our *** analysis of 42 decedents who had a positive postmortem nasopharyngeal swab for sARs-CoV-2 and had a PMCT were included in this *** were reviewed for pulmonary findings seen in COVID-19 and other organ *** the 42 decedents,although the majority had imaging findings in the lungs that would be consistent with COVID-19 and acute respiratory distress syndrome,in 14%of the decedents the sARs-CoV-2 infection was likely coincidental and the PMCT findings suggested that they died from other *** half of the decedents that died from COVID-19 had PMCT findings of vascular *** is useful to identify pulmonary and extra pulmonary findings in decedents with sARs-CoV-2 infection that can provide additional information,which may be useful for the forensic pathologist to help determine the underlying cause of death.

strong, lightweight, and highly conductive CNT/Au/Cu wires from sputtering and electroplating methods

In this study, we present a 2-step deposition method via sputtering and electroplating that uses carbon nanotube(CNT) wires synthesized from a wet-spinning technique to produce high-performance CNT/Au/Cu composite wires. After the Au sputtering pre-treatment, the deposition of Cu on the CNT wires was found to be much more homogeneous due to improved wettability and reactivity of the wire surface. At different electrodeposition time, the mechanical strength of the CNT/Au/Cu composite wires could be as high as 0.74 GPa(~2 times stronger than metal wires) while their electrical conductivity could reach 4.65 × 10~5 s/cm(~80% of that for copper). More importantly, the CNT/Au/Cu composite wires with high CNT volume fraction are expected to be lightweight(up to 42% lower than Cu mass density), suggesting that our high-performance composite wires are a promising candidate to substitute conventional heavy metal wires in the future applications.

Melanoma and non-melanoma cutaneous malignancies are some of the leading causes of cancer-related death in the United *** melanoma is more known to have a high mortality rate,the total mortality per year is nearly equal for between melanoma and non-melanoma skin ***,the non-melanoma types of cutaneous malignancies have potential to become locally invasive and even metastasize with very little to no treatment options when *** development of these malignancies involves various genetic pathways through the four hallmarks of cancer development:malignant cell growth,apoptosis evasion,the use of supporting stroma and vascularization,and modulating and promoting an inadequate immune *** genetic signaling pathways of basal cell carcinoma,squamous cell carcinoma,verrucous carcinoma,basosquamous cell carcinoma,melanoma,and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma interact with each other through genetic predisposition as well as with environmental ***,solar ultraviolet radiation and chronic inflammatory states are found to initiate the progression of many of these cutaneous *** paper includes validated models of genetic pathways,emerging pathways,and crosstalk between genetic pathways through the four hallmarks of cancer ***,unlike most reviews addressing oncogenetics of the well-recognized,as well as newly discovered,genetic pathway mutations,this review stresses that these pathways are not fixed but rather exist in dynamic,interrelated,interactive,complex,and adaptive flux states.

IT is pretty obvious that chanle is afoot in the international monetary system. A couple of years ago, the yuan set off on a path of internationalization. Early on, we at standard Bank had front-row tickets： in 2012. the Nigerian Central Bank announced from our offices in Beijing that they would convert 5 percent of their reserves into yuan. The trend has certainly captured the imagination. smartly. Beijing has been focusing on broaden- ing the scope of the yuan＇s usage, reaching beyond China＇s geographical territory, widening the arc of currencies it is traded against, and increasing its use in denominating and settling cross-border trade and financial transactions. In other words, the agenda had been primarily about growing the yuan＇s role as a medium of exchange.
