The archipelagic country of Indonesia is populated by the densest marine biodiversity in the world which has created strong global interest and is valued by both Indigenous and European settlements for different *** 1000 chemicals have been extracted and *** this review,a systematic data curation was employed to collate bioprospecting related manuscripts providing a comprehensive directory based on publications from 1988 to *** with significant pharmacological activities are further discussed through a scoping data *** review discusses macroorganisms(Sponges,Ascidian,Gorgonians,Algae,Mangrove)and microorganism(Bacteria and Fungi)and highlights significant discoveries,including a potent microtubule stabilizer laulimalide from Hyattella sp.,a prospective doxorubicin complement papuamine alkaloid from Neopetrosia cf exigua,potent antiplasmodial manzamine A from Acanthostrongylophora ingens,the highly potent anti trypanosomal manadoperoxide B from Plakortis ***,mRNA translation disrupter hippuristanol from Briareum sp,and the anti-HIV-1(+)-8-hydroxymanzamine A isolated from Acanthostrongylophora ***,some potent antibacterial extracts were also found from a limited biomass of bacteria *** there are currently no examples of commercial drugs from the Indonesian marine environment,this review shows the molecular diversity present and with the known understudied biodiversity,reveals great promise for future studies and outcomes.

Penetrating keratoplasty in children under 3 years old with congenital corneal opacities

AIM:To evaluate the graft rejection and visual outcomes after penetrating keratoplasty(PK)in the presence of various congenital corneal opacities in ***:In this retrospective cohort study,children who underwent PK were then followed for 5 *** patient’s medical records were collected from June 2014 until June 2019 and analyzed in December *** patients were children under three years old with congenital corneal opacities with or without microcornea who came to a pediatric ophthalmologist and underwent PK in Jakarta Eye Center(JEC).Beforehand,all children have participated in a thorough evaluation for *** the case of severe microcornea was not advised to undergo *** visual outcomes and graft survival rate were described in *** graft survival plot was presented with Kaplan-Meier,while the visual acuity was analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed ranks ***:Sixteen eyes from eleven patients(seven girls and four boys)underwent *** graft survival rate of the first 6,12,and 18 mo later of keratoplasty was 100%,83.3%,and 66.7%,*** overall mean survival time is 22 mo(standard error 2.419),and no significant difference between the patients underwent PK before and after 36 mo of their age(P=0.52).The graft failure was 50%,and postsurgery complications included cataract 43.7%,band keratopathy 12.5%,and scleromalasia 6.25%.Wilcoxon test analysis of visual acuity post keratoplasty was not statistically significant(P=0.34),while overall showed 44%improvements of visual outcome for 5 y of *** a good survival at one year up to 22 mo(83.3%),the visual acuity could be achieved(63%),and showed improvements(44%)during ***:The complications are frequent for pediatric ***,corneal surgery on infants requires careful case selection,adequate pre-operative evaluation,skilled surgery(optical correction),very close cooperation family–physician,intensive post-operation care,and amblyopia management in the

Enhancement of Essential Oil Yield from Melaleuca Leucadendra *** by Lignocellulose Degradation Pre-Treatment Using Filamentous Fungi

The essential oil from Melaleuca leucadendra *** has been widely used as a perfume and traditional remedy,cosmetics and pharmaceutical products ingredient since many years *** common technology to recover the oil is hydro-distillation and ***,all oil can not be fully extracted from the leaves by this method due to the recalcitrant structure of leaves that hindrance the access of the *** a submerged fermentation as a pretreatment step prior to the extraction process helped to loosen the lignocellulose structure and enhance oil release in the extraction *** this study,the raw materials were collected from the natural forest in Buru Island,Maluku,*** biological agents applied in these processes were Phanerochaete chrysosporium ITBCC136 and Trichoderma viride *** oil extraction process was conducted by method of steam-distillation,the oil was analysed using gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy(GC-MS),and the lignocellulose content in the biomass was measured by the fractionation *** treatment using *** provided the highest increase in yield percentage up to 3.47%as compared with control of 1.45%,with the lowest percentages of the remained cellulose,while the fermentation with the presence of *** did not affect the oil yield even the lignin content was decrease as much as 21%.The percentages of 1,8-cineole in the oil were almost unchanged,which was about 20%of the oil.

An analytical and experimental study of nanofilm aluminum (Al) for ultra-high dynamic range surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor is presented in this article. A thin film of 16 nm Al is proposed for metallic sensing layer for SPR .s*ensoi For the protective layer, a 10 nm of gold (Au) layer was configured on top of Al as a protection layer. This ultra-high dynamic range of SPR biosensor reached the bulk refractive index sample limit up to 1.45 RIU. For the analytical study, with the assumption of anisotropic refractive indices experiment, the dynamic range showed a refractive index value of around 1.58 RIU. The refractive index value limit achieved by the proposed sensing design is potentially implemented in various applications, such as in chemical detection and environ- mental monitoring study with high refractive index solution sample. The experimental results are presented as a proof-of-concept of the proposed idea.

The increased valorization of renewable and cost-effective lignocellulosic feedstocks represents a viable,sustainable,and eco-friendly approach toward the production of biopellets as alternative energy *** aim of this research work was to investigate and evaluate the feasibility of using various lignocellulosic raw materials,i.e.,raru(Cotylelobium melanoxylon),mangrove(Rhizophora spp.),sengon(Paraserianthes falcataria),kemenyan toba(Styrax sumatrana),oil palm(Elaeis guineensis),manau rattan(Calamus manan),and belangke bamboo(Gigantochloa pruriens)for manufacturing biopellets with different particle *** raw materials used were tested for their moisture content,specific gravity,ash,cellulose,and lignin *** addition,thermal analyses,i.e.,calorific values,thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),were *** following properties of the biopellets produced were investigated:moisture content,volatile matter,ash content,fixed carbon,density,and thermal *** on an analysis of the raw materials,raru had the lowest moisture content(12%)and ash content(1.5%)and the highest specific gravity(1.2).Markedly,palm oil stem had the highestα-cellulose(55%)and lignin(37%)*** accordance with the SNI 8675:2018 standard requirements,biopellets with optimal properties(moisture content of 1.4%,ash content of 0.79%,density of 1.09 g/m^(3),calorific value of 4672 cal/g,and TGA residue of 13.9%),were manufactured from raru wood.

Lignin,lignosulfonate,and synthesized phosphorylated lignosulfonate were introduced as greenﬁllers in citric acid-sucrose adhesives for bonding particleboard fabricated from areca leaf sheath(ALS).The characteristics of particleboards were compared to that of ultralow emitting formaldehyde(ULEF-UF).Theﬁllers derived from Eucalyptus ***-lignin were added forﬂame retardancy enhancement.10%of each lignin and modiﬁed lig-nin was added into the ULEF-UF and citric acid-sucrose bonded *** applied to particle-boards included thermal characteristics,X-ray diffraction analysis(XRD),morphological properties,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),as well as physical,mechanical,andﬁre resistance characteristics of the laboratory-fabricated *** and modiﬁed lignin resulted in improved thermal stability of the composites bonded with ULEF-UF while the improvement in the particleboard bonded with citric acid-sucrose was not signiﬁ*** introduction ofﬁller exerted a higher inﬂuence on the UF-bonded particleboards compared to composites fabricated with citric ***,the presence of lignin,lignosulfonate,and phosphorylated lignosulfonate enhanced the mechanical strength of the ULEF-bonded particleboards,although their dimensional stability has ***,the use of lignin and lignosulfonate enhanced theﬁre resis-tance of the particleboards produced with lower observed weight *** laboratory particleboards exhibited satisfactoryﬁre resistance,attaining a V-0 rating in according to the UL-94 standard.
