In this study,a novel Mg production process for producing high-purity Mg metal from dolomite was *** the electrolysis of calcined dolomite was conducted using Cu cathode and C anode in MgF_(2)–LiF molten salt at 1083–1173 K by applying an average current of 1.42–1.46 A for 9.50–21.0 h,the current efficiency of 66.4–88.6%was *** produced Mg alloys consisted of MgCu_(2)and Cu(Mg)or MgCu_(2)and CuMg_(2)phases,depending on the Mg concentration in the Mg *** the electrolysis of calcined dolomite was conducted in MgF_(2)–LiF–CaF_(2)molten salt at 1083 K,the current efficiency was 40.9–71.4%,owing to undesired reactions such as electroreduction of Ca^(2+)or/and CO_(3)^(2−)***,the current efficiency increased from 40.9%to 63.2%by utilizing a Pt anode,because the occurrence of CO_(3)^(2−)ions in the molten salt was *** vacuum distillation of the obtained Mg alloys at 1300 K for 10 h,Mg metal with a purity of 99.9996–99.9998%was ***,the feasibility of this novel process for the production of high-purity Mg metal from dolomite was demonstrated.

A green and effective electrolytic process was developed to produce high-purity Mg metal using primary and secondary resources containing Mg O as a feedstock. The electrolysis of various Mg O resources was conducted using a Cu cathode in MgF2– LiF – KCl molten salt at 1043 K by applying an average current of 1.44 A for 12.5 h. The electrolysis of calcined North Korean magnesite and seawater Mg O clinker yielded Mg alloys of MgCu2and(Cu) phases with current efficiencies of 89.6–92.4%. The electrolysis of oxidized Mg O-C refractory brick, aged ferronickel slag, and ferronickel slag yielded Mg alloys of MgCu2and(Cu) phases with current efficiencies of 59.3–92.3%. The vacuum distillation of Mg alloys obtained was conducted at 1300 K for 10 h to produce high-purity Mg metal. After vacuum distillation, Mg metal with a purity of above 99.994% was obtained. Therefore, this study demonstrates the feasibility of the production of high-purity Mg metal from various Mg O resources using a novel electrolytic process with a Cu cathode, followed by vacuum distillation.

High entropy alloys(HEAs)have superior mechanical properties that have enabled them to be used as structural materials in nuclear and aerospace *** a dissimilar joint design is required for these applications,we created a dissimilar joint between CoCrFeMnNi-HEA and duplex stainless steel(DSS)through laser beam welding;a technique capable of producing a sound joint between the two *** structure examination using SEM/EBSD/XRD analysis revealed that the weld metal(wM)exhibits an FCC phase regardless of the postweld heat treatment(PwHT)temperature(800 and 1000℃)without forming detrimental intermetallic compounds or *** heat-affected zone of the CoCrFeMnNi-HEA showed CrMn oxide inclusions while that of the DSS showed no ***,a lower hardness was recorded by the wM compared to the base metal after *** PwHT,the hardness of the wM,CoCrFeMnNi-HEA,and DSS decreased with an increase in the PwHT ***,the decrease in the hardness of the HEA was more significant than in the wM and *** cause for this reduction in hardness was attributed to recrystallization and grain *** addition,a strength of 584 MPa with low ductility was recorded after *** obtained strength was lower than that of the BMs,but comparable to that of the welded *** application of PwHT resulted in over a 20%increment in ductility,with only a marginal reduction in *** defo rmation mechanism in the as-weld joint was mainly dominated by dislocation while that for the PwHT joint was *** propose laser beam offset welding as a technique to improve the mechanical properties of the dissimilar joint,which will be the subject of future studies.

Metallic Pd clusters were embedded into TiO2 nanoparticles that were synthesized within reverse micelle via a solution reduction of Pd(NO3)2 by hydrazine hydrate. The size of the particles can be controlled by manipulating the relative rates of the hydrolysis and condensation reactions of titanium tetra-isopropoxide within the micro-emulsion. The spherical equivalent size for the Pd clusters formed in TiO2 matrix was estimated to be around (3±1) nm. The presence of Pd in the matrix was demonstrated by EDS spectroscopy. The effects of synthesis parameters, such as the concentration of Pd solution, the molar ratio of water to TIP, and the molar ratio of water to surfactant, were discussed.

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to consider the concept of Fuzzy Radial Basis Function Neural Networks with Information Granulation(IG-FRBFNN)and their optimization realized by means of the Multiobjective Particle Swarm Optimization(MOPSO).Design/methodology/approach–In fuzzy modeling,complexity,interpretability(or simplicity)as well as accuracy of the obtained model are essential design *** the performance of the IG-RBFNN model is directly affected by some parameters,such as the fuzzification coefficient used in the FCM,the number of rules and the orders of the polynomials in the consequent parts of the rules,the authors carry out both structural as well as parametric optimization of the network.A multi-objective Particle Swarm Optimization using Crowding Distance(MOPSO-CD)as well as O/wLS learning-based optimization are exploited to carry out the structural and parametric optimization of the model,respectively,while the optimization is of multiobjective character as it is aimed at the simultaneous minimization of complexity and maximization of ***–The performance of the proposed model is illustrated with the aid of three *** proposed optimization method leads to an accurate and highly interpretable fuzzy ***/value–A MOPSO-CD as well as O/wLS learning-based optimization are exploited,respectively,to carry out the structural and parametric optimization of the *** a result,the proposed methodology is interesting for designing an accurate and highly interpretable fuzzy model.

Currently, most developing countries have not set up municipal solid waste management systems with a view of recovering energy from waste or reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In this article, we have studied the possible effects of introducing three energy recovery processes either as a single or combination approach, refuse derived fuel production,incineration and waste power generation, and methane gas recovery from landfill and power generation in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, as a case study. we concluded that incineration process is the most suitable as first introduction of energy recovery. To operate it efficiently,3Rs strategies need to be promoted. And then, RDF production which is made of waste papers and plastics in high level of sorting may be considered as the second step of energy ***, safety control and marketability of RDF will be required at that moment.

Conventionally,Te has primarily been used to improve the machinability of steel and its *** this work,Te was used to refine the grains of an oxide-dispersion-strengthened(ODS)steel produced by additive manufacturing(AM)with fixed processing *** of Te to the raw powder produced an ODS steel with a fine-grained microstructure,in contrast to the ODS steel manufactured without ***,the addition of Te resulted in superior yield strength and ultimate tensile strength,which was attributed to the combined effects of grain refinement and the finer nanoparticles(NPs)composed of Terich composite NPs and Cr-rich *** the first time,the AM technique was used to obtain grain and nanoparticle sizes of~3.4μm and 6 nm,respectively,from the Te-added ODS steel.

Objectives:The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of meridian massage in lessening the fatigue and improving both physical and mental quality of life of cancer *** and design:This study was conducted at the East-west Cancer Center at Daejeon University;Using a single-arm,waiting list and non-treatment control research de- sign,we compared the results of control group and to that of the experimental *** and methods:From july 2,2007 to july 28,2007,eighteen eligible cancer patients were recruited to participate in the *** Chalder Fatigue Scale(CFS),Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and active oxygen level were measured before and after treatment for both control and experimental *** on their back or stomach inside a room with a temperature of 18-22℃,the pa- tients received 30 minutes of meridian massages mainly around the trapezius muscles 5 times a week. Statistical analysis used:Data analysis was carried out using independent t-test,paired t-test and One-way ANOVA. Results:Data analysis of modified CFS showed statistically significant results for all groups between before and after treat- *** CFS,results of physical and psychological analysis showed significant results for all groups except before and after no treatment and secondary *** the analysis of VAS,the experimental group showed a greater decrease in score compared to that of the control group and the average difference was statistically significant(Pwere not statistically significant(P>0.05),active oxygen levels for the control group showed little difference before and after no treatment(331.11 and 330.78,respectively)while the experimental group observed a decrease in active oxygen level before and after treatment(327.28 and 314.11,respectively).Conclusion:In conclusion,patients who received meridian massage showed decreased cancer related fatigue scores compared to the *** results sugge
