Characterization of Wollastonite Glass-ceramics Made from Waste Glass and Coal Fly Ash

The crystallization behavior of wollastonite glass-ceramics was investigated by means of X-ray diffraction （XRD） analysis and surface morphological observations, and the chemical compositions were evaluated by field emission-scanning electron microscopy （FE-SEM） and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDS）. Various heat treatment temperatures （850, 900, 950, 1000 and 1050 ℃） were used to obtain glass-ceramics of the ideal wollastonite crystal phase as well as optimum mechanical properties and chemical durability. From XRD, FE-SEM and EDS, the crystallization of acicular crystal phase in the matrix was achieved at heat treatment temperature of 1000 and 1050 ℃, and wollastonite （CaSiO3） was found in the acicular type main crystal phase in the glass-ceramics. Various properties, such as density, compressive strength, bending strength and chemical durability were also examined. The mechanical properties of glass-ceramics obtained at the heat treatment temperature of 1000 and 1050 ℃ were superior to those obtained at the heat treatment temperature of 850 ℃.

Gastrectomy is the main treatment option for gastric cancer patients. Laparoscopic approach has become popular as an alternative to open method during the last decades, and clinical trials have revealed safety and feasibility in the short-and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic gastrectomy. The aim of this review is to summarize the results of prospective clinical trials and propose future perspectives for laparoscopic gastrectomy.

To accomplish mass hydrogen production by electrochemical water-splitting,it is a necessary to develop robust,highly active,stable,and cost-effective hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)electrocatalysts that perform comparably to Pt in the universal pH *** this work,cobalt phosphide hybrid nanosheets supported on carbon felt(CoP HNS/CF)are presented,which exhibit the superior electrocatalytic hydrogen production under a *** these nanosheets,a single CoP HNS is composed of polycrystalline CoP and oxygen-enriched amorphous Co-O-P *** from its unique nanoarchitecture,as-fabricated CoP HNS/CF exhibits a tremendous electrocatalytic HER activity and outperforms Pt/C as well as state-of-the-art CoP electrocatalysts in *** acidic and neutral media,the CoP HNS/CF shows superior electrocatalytic activity while maintaining its original hybrid crystalline-amorphous phase and *** alkaline medium,the unexpected phase and morphological reorganization of CoP HNS/CF results in outstanding electrocatalytic *** HNS/CF not only achieves high electrocatalytic activity and kinetics,but also a stable and long operating lifetime even under a high current density of 500 mA cm'***,the fabrication of CoP HNS/CF can be scaled up easily,and the large CoP HNS/CF electrode also exhibits similar electrocatalytic activity and stability.

The discovery of multicomponent inorganic compounds can provide direct solutions to scientific and engineering challenges,yet the vast uncharted material space dwarfs synthesis *** the crystal structure prediction(CSP)may mitigate this frustration,the exponential complexity of CSP and expensive density functional theory(DFT)calculations prohibit material exploration at ***,we introduce SPINNER,a structure-prediction framework based on random and evolutionary *** speed and accuracy of neural network potentials(NNPs),the program navigates configurational spaces 10^(2)–10^(3) times faster than DFT-based ***,SPINNER incorporates algorithms tuned for NNPs,achieving performances exceeding conventional *** blind tests on 60 ternary compositions,SPINNER identifies experimental(or theoretically more stable)phases for~80%of *** benchmarked against data-mining or DFT-based evolutionary predictions,SPINNER identifies more stable phases in many *** developing a reliable and fast structure-prediction framework,this work paves the way to large-scale,open exploration of undiscovered inorganic crystals.

Hydrogen storage in Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier(LOHC)systems is appealing for the safe storage and distribution of excess renewable energy via existing gasoline infrastructures to *** present the eutectic mixture of biphenyl and diphenyl ether of its first use as a LOHC *** material is hydrogenated with 99%selectivity without the cleavage of C–O bond,with commercial heterogeneous catalysts,which is confirmed by nuclear magnetic spectroscopy and gas chromatography-mass *** concentration,dehydrogenation enthalpy,and thermo-neutral temperature are calculated using a density functional *** results indicate that O-atom-containing material exhibits more favorable dehydrogenation thermodynamics than that of the hydrocarbon *** H2-rich material contains6.8 wt%of gravimetric hydrogen storage capacity.A preliminary study of catalytic dehydrogenation on a continuous reactor is presented to demonstrate a reversibility of this material.

A novel 50 kW fast charger was proposed for electric vehicles. The proposed fast charger is divided into two main sections an AC-DC converter performing a PFC function and a DC-DC converter performing a charging function. A transformer including leakage inductances was used in the AC-DC converter in order to obtain isolation and inductance. A series-connection topology was used in the DC-DC converter between the DC-bus and outlet. This topology enables high power conversion efficiency up to 95% for the DC-DC converter. In order to reduce the impact of the 50 kW charging on the AC grid, the proposed fast charger system includes a buffering battery unit between the two main power conversion units. This leads to reductions in the power installation costs of power companies and to improvements in the power quality were verified through simulations and experimental results. on the AC grid. Does antiviral therapy reduce complications of cirrhosis?

Chronic hepatitis B infection is associated with the development of cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and finally liver-related mortality. Each year, approximately, 2%-5% of patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related compensated cirrhosis develop decompensation, with additional clinical manifestations, such as ascites, jaundice, hepatic encephalopathy, and gastrointestinal bleeding. The outcome of decompensated HBV-related cirrhosis is poor, with a 5-year survival of 14%-35% compared to 84% in patients with compensated cirrhosis. Because the risk of disease progression is closely linked to a patient’s serum HBV DNA level, antiviral therapy may suppress viral replication, stabilize liver function and improve survival. This article briefly reviews the role that antiviral therapy plays in cirrhosis complications, particularly, in decompensation and acute-on-chronic liver failure.
