Spectrum of final pathological diagnosis of gastric adenoma after endoscopic resection

AIM: To investigate how many discrepancies occur in patients before and after endoscopic treatment of referred adenoma and the reason for these results. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed data from 554 cases of 534 patients who were referred from primary care centres for adenoma treatment and treated for endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) or endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) at Chungnam National University Hospital, from July 2006 to June 2009. Reendoscopy was examined in 142 cases and biopsywas performed in 108 cases prior to treatment. Three endoscopists (1, 2 and 3) performed all EMRs or ESDs and three pathologists (1, 2 and 3) diagnosed most of the cases. Transfer notes, medical records and endoscopic pictures of these cases were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. RESULTS: Adenocarcinoma was 72 (13.0%) cases in total 554 cases after endoscopic treatment of referred adenoma. When the grade of dysplasia was high (55.0%), biopsy number was more than three (22.7%), size was no smaller than 2.0 cm (23.2%), morphologic type was depressed (35.8%) or yamada type Ⅳ (100%), and color was red (30.9%) or mixed-or-undetermined (25.0%), it had much more malignancy rate than the others (P < 0.05). All 18 cases diagnosed as adenocarcinoma in the re-endoscopic forceps biopsy were performed by endoscopist 1. There were different malignancy rates according to the pathologist (P = 0.027). CONCLUSION: High grade dysplasia is the most important factor for predicting malignancy as a final pathologic diagnosis before treating the referred gastric adenoma. This discrepancy can occur mainly through inappropriately selecting a biopsy site where cancer cells do not exist, but it also depends on the pathologist to some extent.

Detection of early gastric cancer using hydro-stomach CT:Blinded vs unblinded analysis

A Study on Classification and Detection of Small Moths Using CNN Model

Currently,there are many limitations to classify images of small *** addition,there are limitations such as error detection due to external factors,and there is also a disadvantage that it is difficult to accurately distinguish between various *** paper uses a convolutional neural network(CNN)algorithm to recognize and classify object images of very small moths and obtain precise data images.A convolution neural network algorithm is used for image data classification,and the classified image is transformed into image data to learn the topological structure of the *** improve the accuracy of the image classification and reduce the loss rate,a parameter for finding a fast-optimal point of image classification is set by a convolutional neural network and a pixel image as a *** a result of this study,we applied a convolution neural network algorithm to classify the images of very small moths by capturing precise images of the *** results showed that the accuracy of classification of very small moths was more than 90%.

A Study on Cascade R-CNN-Based Dangerous Goods Detection Using X-Ray Image

Techniques for overcoming atretic changes of the portal vein in living donor liver transplantation

Background:Spontaneous diversion of the portal flow through collateral vessels into the systemic circulation is frequently observed in liver transplant recipients with severe portal *** induces main portal vein atretic change and modifies flow into the collateral even after donor graft *** atretic changes make liver transplantation *** this article we described several methods for overcoming this challenge by appropriate surgical ***:Three anastomotic techniques for living donor liver transplantation were performed in patients with atretic changes in the portal ***:The three techniques were(1)venoplasty to widen the diameter by using the recipient’s portal vein,and the diameter of the recipient’s portal vein was enlarged using their own portal vein stump patch;(2)conduit with cryopreserved vessels,and we dissected around the superior mesenteric vein and splenic vein junction and a conduit was built using the cryopreserved vessels;and(3)left gastric varix to portal vein anastomosis,if the recipients had large gastric varix and variceal wall was sufficiently thick for ***:Selection of optimal methods for portal vein anastomosis is essential in patients with atrophic change on the portal *** these methods are used aptly,they can be considered as favorable methods for overcoming each situation.

Association between Occupational Change Trajectories and Mental Health: Results from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging

Objectives:This study was to longitudinally investigate the association between occupational change trajectories and mental health in the Korean population aged 45 years and older from the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging(KLo-SA).Methods:After excluding missing values,the data of 6,224 participants from thefirst to eighth waves of the KLo-SA were analyzed using t-test,Analysis of variance(ANOVA),Group-based Trajectory Model(GBTM)from 1–5th KLoSA and Time-Lagged Generalized estimating equation(GEE)model from 5–8th KLoSA to analyze the association between occupational change trajectories and mental health in the Korean population aged 45 years and ***:An analysis of the association between occupational change trajectories and mental health demonstrated that,among all age group,the“sustained in unemployment”group had a worse MMSE and CESD score compared to“sustained WC”*** the under-54 age group,those aged≥55 years demonstrated reductions in the MMSE and CESD scores in the sustained unemployment and the changed working condition from Standard BC to Unemployment groups,whereas those who underwent a change from the Standard WC to unemployment group only demonstrated a reduction in MMSE ***:There was a close relationship between occupational change trajectories and mental ***,this study can serve as the foundation for policies and institutional measures to manage the deteriorate mental health in the late middle-aged and older population.

SMINER:Detecting Unrestricted and Misimplemented Behaviors of Software Systems Based on Unit Test Cases

Despite the advances in automated vulnerability detection approaches,security vulnerabilities caused by design flaws in software systems are continuously appearing in real-world *** security design flaws can bring unrestricted and misimplemented behaviors of a system and can lead to fatal vulnerabilities such as remote code execution or sensitive data ***,it is an essential task to discover unrestricted and misimplemented behaviors of a ***,it is a daunting task for security experts to discover such vulnerabilities in advance because it is timeconsuming and error-prone to analyze the whole code in ***,most of the existing vulnerability detection approaches still focus on detecting memory corruption bugs because these bugs are the dominant root cause of software *** paper proposes SMINER,a novel approach that discovers vulnerabilities caused by unrestricted and misimplemented *** first collects unit test cases for the target system from the official ***,preprocess the collected code *** uses pre-processed data to show the security policies that can occur on the target system and creates a test case for security policy *** demonstrate the effectiveness of SMINER,this paper evaluates SMINER against Robot Operating System(ROS),a real-world system used for intelligent robots in Amazon and controlling satellites in National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA).From the evaluation,we discovered two real-world vulnerabilities in ROS.

Crystal plasticity finite element simulations on extruded Mg-10Gd rod with texture gradient

The mechanical properties of an extruded Mg-10Gd sample, specifically designed for vascular stents, are crucial for predicting its behavior under service conditions. Achieving homogeneous stresses in the hoop direction, essential for characterizing vascular stents, poses challenges in experimental testing based on standard specimens featuring a reduced cross section. This study utilizes an elasto-visco-plastic self-consistent polycrystal model(ΔEVPSC) with the predominant twinning reorientation(PTR) scheme as a numerical tool, offering an alternative to mechanical testing. For verification, various mechanical experiments, such as uniaxial tension, compression, notched-bar tension, three-point bending, and C-ring compression tests, were conducted. The resulting force vs. displacement curves and textures were then compared with those based on the ΔEVPSC model. The computational model's significance is highlighted by simulation results demonstrating that the differential hardening along with a weak strength differential effect observed in the Mg-10Gd sample is a result of the interplay between micromechanical deformation mechanisms and deformation-induced texture evolution. Furthermore, the study highlights that incorporating the axisymmetric texture from the as-received material incorporating the measured texture gradient significantly improves predictive accuracy on the strength in the hoop direction. Ultimately, the findings suggest that the ΔEVPSC model can effectively predict the mechanical behavior resulting from loading scenarios that are impossible to realize experimentally, emphasizing its valuable contribution as a digital twin.

A preliminary study of dietary protein requirement of juvenile marbled flounder (Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae)

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to determine the optimal dietary protein level for juvenile marbled *** semi-purified test diets were formulated to contain different protein levels(CP)including 42.7%,47.4%,53.3%,58.8%,and 64.5%(dry matter),named as CP42.7,CP47.4,CP53.3,CP58.8,and CP64.5,*** hundred and twenty-five juveniles(6.0±0.1 g)were randomly distributed into 15 tanks(300 L tanks),resulting in 35 fish per tank(n-3 tanks).Fish were fed the test diets 5 times per day until *** CP58.8 resulted in the highest gain in weight and the best efficiency in feed utilization among the tested protein levels(P<0.05).Fish fed the CP58.8 diet showed significantly higher whole-body protein and lipid contents than the fish that were fed the other diets(P<0.05).Fish fed the CP53.3,CP58.8,and CP64.5 diets showed a significantly higher dorsal-muscle lipid content than the fish that were fed the CP42.7 and CP47.4 diets(P<0.05).The one-slope straight broken-line regression analysis on the results of the thermal growth coefficient and feed conversion ratio indicated that the estimated optimum dietary protein level was 58.8%.Taken together,it is suggested that the dietary protein level of 58.8%is optimal for better growth and high efficiency in feed utilization for the juvenile marbled flounder.
