Intermodal four-wave mixing(FWM)processes have recently attracted significant interest for all-optical signal processing applications thanks to the possibility to control the propagation properties of waves exciting distinct spatial modes of the same *** allows,in principle,to place signals in different spectral regions and satisfy the phase matching condition over considerably larger bandwidths compared to intramodal ***,the demonstrations reported so far have shown a limited bandwidth and suffered from the lack of on-chip components designed for broadband manipulation of different *** demonstrate here a silicon-rich silicon nitride wavelength converter based on bragg scattering intermodal FWM,which integrates mode conversion,multiplexing and de-multiplexing functionalities *** system enables wavelength conversion between pump waves and a signal located in different telecommunication bands(separated by 60 nm)with a 3 dB bandwidth exceeding 70 nm,which represents,to our knowledge,the widest bandwidth ever achieved in an intermodal FWM-based system.

Type 1 diabetes(T1D)is associated with general-and diabetes-specific stress which has multiple adverse *** measuring stress is of great *** algometer measuring pressure pain sensitivity(PPS)has been shown to correlate to certain stress measures in ***,it has never been investigated in children and *** aim of our study was to examine associations between PPS and glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),salivary cortisol and two questionnaires as well as to identify whether the algometer can be used as a clinical tool among children and adolescents with ***-three participants aged 6-18 years and diagnosed with T1D were included in this study with data from two study *** cortisol,PPS and questionnaires were collected,measured,and answered on ***1c was collected from medical *** found correlations between PPS and HbA1c(rho=0.35,P=0.046),cortisol(rho=-0.25,P=0.02)and Perceived Stress Scale(rho=-0.44,P=0.02)in different subgroups based on *** scored higher in PPS than females(P<0.001).We found PPS to be correlated to HbA1c but otherwise inconsistent in *** PPS values indicated either measurement difficulties or hypersensibility towards pain.

Modelselection,adaptation,and combination for transfer learning in wind and photovoltaic power forecasts

There is recent interest in using model hubs–a collection of pre-trained models–in computer vision *** employ a model hub,we first select a source model and then adapt the model for the target to compensate for *** still needs to be more research on model selection and adaption for renewable power *** particular,none of the related work examines different model selection and adaptation strategies for neural network ***,none of the current studies investigates the influence of available training samples and considers seasonality in the *** close these gaps by conducting the first thorough experiment for model selection and adaptation for transfer learning in renewable power forecast,adopting recent developments from the field of computer vision on 667 wind and photovoltaic parks from six *** simulate different amounts of training samples for each season to calculate informative forecast *** examine the marginal likelihood and forecast error for model selection for those ***,we study four adaption *** an extension of the current state of the art,we utilize a Bayesian linear regression for forecasting the response based on features extracted from a neural *** approach outperforms the baseline with only seven days of training data and shows that fine-tuning is not beneficial with less than three months of *** further show how combining multiple models through ensembles can significantly improve the model selection and adaptation approach such that we have a similar mean error with only 30 days of training data which is otherwise only possible with an entire year of training *** achieve a mean error of 9.8 and 14 percent for the most realistic dataset for PV and wind with only seven days of training data.

Within the past two decades,chromophores,which show aggregation-induced emission(AIE),have gained considerable attention with respect to the development of luminescent liquid *** contrast to common luminogens,AIE emitters do not suffer from aggregation-caused quenching of the emission in the solid *** this review,we summarize the recent development in the field of AIE-active liquid crystals and show first model devices,which already prove the application potential of these ***,three different approaches are followed,to get access to luminescent liquid crystals––namely the synthetic approach yielding luminescent mesogens,the doping approach,and the supramolecular approach,which will be described and discussed in detail in this review.

Imaging of the gastrointestinal tract is very useful for research and clinical studies of patients with symptoms arising from the gastrointestinal tract and in visualising anatomy and pathology. Traditional radiological techniques played a leading role in such studies for a long time. However, advances in non-invasive modalities including ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), etc, have in the last decades revolutionised the way in which the gastrointestinal tract is studied. The resolution of imaging data is constantly being improved and 3D acquisition, tools for fi ltering, enhancement, segmentation and tissue classif ication are continually being developed. Additional co-registration techniques allow multimodal data acquisition with improved classif ication of tissue pathology. Furthermore, new functional imaging techniques have become available. Altogether, the future of gastrointestinal imaging looks very promising which will be of great benef it in clinical and research studies of gastrointestinal diseases. The purpose of this review is to highlight the capabilities of the newest techniques to explore the detailed morphology, biomechanical properties, function and pathology of the gastrointestinal tract.

Targeting the EGF receptor family in non-small cell lung cancerincreased complexity and future perspectives

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-associated mortality worldwide,but with the emergence of oncogene targeted therapies,treatment options have tremendously *** to their biological relevance,members of the ERBB receptor family,including the EGF receptor(EGFR),HER2,HER3 and HER4,are among the best studied oncogenic *** EGFR mutations are frequently observed in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),and small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs)are the established first line treatment option for patients whose tumors bear"typical/classical"EGFR mutations(exon 19 deletions,L858R point mutations).Additionally,new TKIs are rapidly evolving with better efficacy to overcome primary and secondary treatment resistance(e.g.,that due to T790M or C797S resistance mutations).Some atypical EGFR mutations,such as the most frequent exon 20 insertions,exhibit relative resistance to earlier generation TKIs through steric *** this subgroup,newer TKIs,such as mobocertinib and the bi-specific antibody amivantamab have recently been approved,whereas less frequent atypical EGFR mutations remain *** contrast to EGFR,HER2 has long remained a challenging target,but better structural understanding has led to the development of newer generations of *** recent FDA approval of the antibody-drug conjugate trastuzumab-deruxtecan for pretreated patients with HER2 mutant NSCLC has been an important therapeutic ***3 and HER4 also exert oncogenic potential,and targeted treatment approaches are being developed,particularly for ***,strategies to inhibit the oncogenic function of ERBB receptors in NSCLC are currently evolving at an unprecedented pace;therefore,this review summarizes current treatment standards and discusses the outlook for future developments.

Ethyl-iophenoxic acid as a quantitative bait marker for small mammals

Bait markers are indispensable for ecological research but in small mammals,most markers are invasive,expensive and do not enable quantitative analyses of ***-iophenoxic acid(Et-IPA)is a non-toxic,quantitative bait marker,which has been used for studying bait uptake in several carnivores and *** developed a bait with Et-IPA,assessed its palatability to common voles(Microtus arvalis),and determined the dose-residue-relation for this important agricultural pest rodent ***-IPA concentrations of 40 to 1280μg Et-IPA per g bait were applied to wheat using sunﬂower oil or polyethylene glycol 300 as potential *** a laboratory study,common voles were offered the bait and blood samples were collected 1,7,and 14 days after *** samples were analyzed with LC-ESI-MS/MS for blood residues of ***ﬂower-oil was the most suitable bait ***-IPA seemed to be palatable to common voles at all test ***-dependent residues could be detected in blood samples in a dose-dependent manner and up to 14 days after uptake enabling generation of a calibration curve of the dose-residue ***-IPA was present in common vole blood for at least 14 days,but there was dissipation by 33–37%depending on ***-IPA meets many criteria for an“ideal”quantitative bait marker for use in futureﬁeld studies on common voles and possibly other small mammal species.
