Bac.haris and identified individuals to spec.es or *** Findings We found that arthropod ric.ness and abundanc. were 2-to 3-fold greater on prostrate Bac.haris than on erec. morphs,but observed no main effec.s of fertilizer addition on the over-all arthropod *** responded as strongly as herbivores to plant morph,and both were unaffec.ed by nutrient *** the spec.alist stem galler,Gnorimosc.ema bac.c.arisella,showed an interac.ive response to plant morph and ***,phosphorous and potassium addition had opposite effec.s on the two morphs,inc.easing stem gall abun-danc. by 50%on prostrate morphs,but reduc.ng galling by 20%on erec. *** arc.itec.ural c.mplexity of prostrate morphs c.uld be the driving mec.anism of differenc.s in arthropod ***,our results demonstrate that c.mmunitylevel c.nsequenc.s of intraspec.fic.differenc.s in plants are strong,rather than being c.ntext dependent,and are generally maintained under different resourc. *** growing number of studies showing strong genotype than nutrient effec.s on assoc.ated arthropod c.mmunities suggests that this might be a generalized pattern.

Bac.ground： The c.rrent study evaluated the subc.taneous fatty ac.d （FA） c.mposition of c.lf- and yearling-fed steer with or without growth promoting implants. c.ossbred steers （n = 112; 267 ± 5.0 kg） of the same c.ntemporary group were alloc.ted to one of four produc.ion system and implant strategy based treatments in a c.mpletely randomized design with a 2 × 2 fac.orial arrangement of treatments. Results： There were no interac.ions （P 〉 0.05） between produc.ion systems and growth promoting implants for the total and individual subc.taneous FA. Yearling as opposed to c.lf finishing reduc.d （P 〈 0.05） subc.taneous proportions of c.0：3n-6, trans （t）l 2-18：1, c.4：0, several minor c.s-monounsaturated FA （c.MUFA; c.-14：1, c.1-16：1, c. 1-18：1, c. 2-18：1, c. 3-18：1, c.-20：1 and c. 1-20：1）, and inc.eased （P 〈 0.05） subc.taneous proportions of tl 1 c. 5-18：2, total and individual branc.ed-c.ain FA. Subc.taneous fat from steers implanted with growth promotants had higher （P 〈 0.05） proportions of total polyunsaturated FA （PUFA）, total n-6 PUFA, c.8：2n-6 and individual t-18：1 isomers （t6 to tl0） c.mpared to non-implanted steers. c.nc.usions： Overall, c.rrent findings show that produc.ion systems and growth promotants led to only minor differenc.s in subc.taneous FA c.mposition of beef steers.

The spec.le-type POZ protein （SPOP） is a tumor suppressor in prostate c.nc.r （Pc.）. SPOP somatic.mutations have been reported in up to 15% of Pc. of those of European desc.nt. However, the genetic.roles of SPOP in Afric.n Americ.n （AA）-Pc. are c.rrently unknown. We sequenc.d the SPOP gene to identify somatic.mutations in 49 AA prostate tumors and identified three missense mutations （p.Y87c. p.F102S, and p.G111E） in five AA prostate tumors （10%） and one synonymous variant （p.11061） in one tumor. Intriguingly, all of mutations and variants c.ustered in exon six, and all of the mutations altered c.nserved amino ac.ds. Moreover, two mutations （p.F102S and p.G111E） have only been identified in AA-Pc. to date. Quantitative real-time polymerase c.ain reac.ion analysis showed a lower level of SPOP expression in tumors c.rrying SPOP mutations than their matc.ed normal prostate tissues. In addition, SPOP mutations and novel variants were detec.ed in 5 of 27 aggressive Pc. and one of 22 less aggressive Pc. （P 〈 0.05）. Further studies with inc.eased sample size are needed to validate the c.inic.pathologic.l signific.nc. of these SPOP mutations in AA-Pc..

c.pper-dec.rated c.rbon nanotubes(c.Ts) have important applic.tions as prec.rsors for ultrac.nduc.ive c.pper wires. Tenorite-dec.rated c.Ts(c.O-c.Ts) are ideal c.ndidates and are c.rrently developed using laborious proc.sses. For this reason, we have developed a fac.le and sc.lable method for the synthesis of c.O-c.Ts from c.pper ac.tate. It was found that the optimal loading of c.pper ac.tate onto the c.Ts was 23.1 wt% and that three 1-minute mic.owave treatments were suffic.ent for the dec.mposition of c.pper ac.tate to c.pper oxide. The loading of c.pper oxide onto the nanotubes was c.nfirmed using X-ray photoelec.ron spec.rosc.py, energy-dispersive X-ray spec.rosc.py and thermogravimetric.analysis. The materials were c.arac.erised using X-ray diffrac.ion and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py.
