Potential preservative mechanisms of cardiac rehabilitation pathways on endothelial function in coronary heart disease

Cardiac rehabilitation,a comprehensive exercise-based lifestyle and medical management,is effective in decreasing morbidity and improving life quality in patients with coronary heart *** function,an irreplaceable indicator in coronary heart disease progression,is measured by various methods in traditional cardiac rehabilitation pathways,including medicinal treatment,aerobic training,and smoking ***,studies on the effect of some emerging cardiac rehabilitation programs on endothelial function are *** article briefly reviewed the endothelium-beneficial effects of different cardiac rehabilitation pathways,including exercise training,lifestyle modification and psychological intervention in patients with coronary heart disease,and related experimental models,and summarized both uncovered and potential cellular and molecular mechanisms of the beneficial roles of various cardiac rehabilitation pathways on endothelial *** exercise training and some lifestyle interventions,the enhanced bioavailability of nitric oxide,increased circulating endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs),and decreased oxidative stress are major contributors to preventing endothelial dysfunction in coronary heart ***,the preservation of endothelial-dependent hyperpolarizing factors and inflammatory suppression play *** the one hand,to develop more endothelium-protective rehabilitation methods in coronary heart disease,adequately designed and sized randomized multicenter clinical trials should be advanced using standardized cardiac rehabilitation programs and existing assessment *** the other hand,additional studies using suitable experimental models are warranted to elucidate the relationship between some new interventions and endothelial protection in both macro-and microvasculature.

Huanglian-Renshen-Decoction maintains Isletβ-Cell Identity in T2Dm mice through Regulating GLP-1 and GLP-1R in Both Islet and Intestine

Objective: To elucidate the effect of Huanglian-Renshen-Decoction(HRD) on ameliorating type 2 diabetes mellitus by maintaining islet β-cell identity through regulating paracrine and endocrine glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)/GLP-1 receptor(GLP-1R) in both islet and intestine. methods: The db/db mice were divided into the model(distilled water), low-dose HRD(LHRD, 3 g/kg), high-dose HRD(HHRD, 6 g/kg), and liraglutide(400 μg/kg) groups using a random number table, 8 mice in each group. The db/m mice were used as the control group(n=8, distilled water). The entire treatment of mice lasted for 6 weeks. Blood insulin, glucose, and GLP-1levels were quantified using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits. The proliferation and apoptosis factors of islet cells were determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC) and immunofluorescence(IF) staining. Then,GLP-1, GLP-1R, prohormone convertase 1/3(PC1/3), PC2, v-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homologue A(mafA), and pancreatic and duodenal homeobox 1(PDX1) were detected by Western blot, IHC,IF, and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, respectively. Results: HRD reduced the weight and blood glucose of the db/db mice, and improved insulin sensitivity at the same time(Pmoted mice to secrete more insulin and less glucagon(Pmoreover, it also increased the number of islet β cell and decreased islet α cell mass(Per HRD treatment, the levels of GLP-1,GLP-1R, PC1/3, PC2, mafA, and PDX1 in the pancreas and intestine significantly increased(Pnclusion: HRD can maintain the normal function and identity of islet β cell, and the underlying mechanism is related to promoting the paracrine and endocrine activation of GLP-1 in pancreas and intestine.

Surface charging activated mechanism change: A computational study of O, CO, and CO2 interactions on Ag electrodes

Electrocatalytic and plasma-activated processes receive increasing attention in catalysis. Density functional theory(DFT) calculations are state-of-the-art tools for the fundamental study of reaction mechanisms and predicting the performance of catalytic materials. Proper application of DFT-based methods is crucial when investigating charge-doped electrode surfaces during electrocatalytic and plasma-activated reactions. Here, as a model electrode for plasma-activated CO2 splitting, we studied the interactions of O, CO, and CO2 with the neutral and progressively charged Ag(111) metal surfaces. We show that the application of correction procedures is necessary to obtain accurate adsorption energy profiles of O atoms,CO and CO2 molecules on Ag surfaces that are under the influence of additional electrons. Interestingly,the oxidation of CO is found to shift from a Langmuir–Hinshelwood mechanism on a neutral electrode to an Eley–Rideal mechanism on charged electrodes. Furthermore, we show that the surface charging of Ag(111) electrodes increase their CO2 reduction performance by enhancing the adsorption of O atoms and desorption of CO molecules. A further increase in the absolute charge-state of the electrode surface is expected to waive the thermodynamic barriers for the CO2 splitting reaction.

This study aimed to investigate the modelling of the transport of sage phenolics into meat cubes under various vacuum impregnation(VI)conditions(Control,VI-100,VI-250,and VI-500 mbar;ultrasound-assisted(UA)VI-100,VI-250,and VI-500 mbar).Azuara model from five different models has been proposed as a model that can be used successfully in describing kinetic *** 180 min of treatment,the phenolic contents of the samples were determined between 462.7 and 639.8 mg/*** the highest phenolic content(639.8 mg/kg)was obtained in the samples applied UAVI-100,the highest equilibrium phenolic content was calculated in the samples applied VI-100 in the calculations performed with the Azuara *** addition,the diffusion coefficients calculated for the samples varied between 8.5×10^(-6)and 11.4×10^(-6)m^(2)/s.

Preparation and sensing characteristics of long-period fiber gratings based on periodic microchannels

Long-period fiber gratings have the advantages of small size,corrosion resistance,anti-electro-magnetic interference,and high sensitivity,making them widely used in biomedicine,the power industry,and *** paper develops a long-period fiber grating sensor based on periodic ***,a series of linear structures were etched in the cladding of a single-mode fiber by femtosecond laser ***,the laser-modified region was selectively eroded by selective chemical etching to obtain the periodic microchannel ***,the channels were filled with polydimethylsiloxane(PDmS)to im-prove the spectral *** experimental results show that the sensor has good sensitivity in the measure-ment of various parameters such as temperature,stress,refractive index(RI),and *** has a temperat-ure sensitivity of−55.19 pm/℃,a strain sensitivity of−3.19 pm/με,a maximum refractive index sensitivity of 540.28 nm/RIU,and a bending sensitivity of 2.65 dB/m^(-1).All of the measurement parameters show good lin-ear *** sensor has strong application prospects in the field of precision measurement and sensing.

Investigating the effect of entrance channel mass asymmetry on fusion reactions using the Skyrme energy density formalism

In the present investigations,the fusion crosssections for the formation of 200Pb compound nucleus(Cn)using 16O+184 W,30Si+170er,and 40Ar+160Gd nuclear reactions at energies above the Coulomb barrier were calculated to understand the effect of entrance channel mass asymmetry(α)on the fusion reactions;the Skyrme energy density formalism(SEDF)was used for this *** SEDF uses the Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov(HFB)computational program with Skyrme forces such as Skm*,SLy4,and SLy5 to obtain the nucleus-nucleus potential parameters for the above *** the SEDF model with Skm*,SLy4,and SLy5 interaction forces,the theoretical fusion cross-sections were determined above the barrier energy and compared with the available experimental fusion *** results show a close agreement between the theoretical and experimental values for all selected systems at energies well above the ***,near the barrier energies,the theoretical values were observed to be higher than the experimental values.

Site Selective Excitation and Energy Transfer in LiKGdF_5 Crystal Co-doped with er^(3+) and Tb (3+)

Crystals of LiKGdF 5∶er 3+, Tb 3+ grown by the hydrothermal synthesis technique with concentrations of 2% and 0.4% were analysed. By using site selective excitation measured at low temperature, luminescence and excitation spectra from er 3+ and Tb 3+ ions embedded in LiKGdF 5 were clearly separated. The lifetimes of the emitting levels 4S 3/2 of er 3+ and 5D 4 of Tb 3+ were also determined. Following the site selective spectroscopy study, the dominant energy transfer process from Tb 3+ to er 3+ in the crystal was then investigated via transient experiments.
