Ferroptosis is a novel form of iron-dependent cell death characterized by lipid *** the importance and disease relevance of ferroptosis is gaining recognition,much remains unknown about various genetic and non-genetic determinants of *** signaling pathway is an evolutionarily conserved pathway that responds to various envi-ronmental cues and controls organ size,cell proliferation,death,and self-renewal *** cancer biology,hippo pathway is a potent tumor suppressing mechanism and its dysregulation contributes to apoptosis evasion,cancer development,metastasis,and treatment *** dysregulation leads to aberrant activation of yAP and TAZ,the two major transcription co-activators of TEADs,that induce the expression of genes triggering tumor-promoting pheno-types,including enhanced cell proliferation,self-renewal and apoptosis *** hippo pathway is regulated by the cell-cell contact and cellular density/***,fer-roptosis has also been found being regulated by the cellular contact and *** yAP/TAZ activation under low density,while confers apoptosis resistance,renders cancer cells sensitivity to *** findings establish yAP/TAZ and hippo pathways as novel deter-minants of ***,inducing ferroptosis may have therapeutic potential for yAP/TAZ-activated chemo-resistant and metastatic tumor ***,various yAP/TAZ-targeting treatments under clinical development may confer ferroptosis resistance,limiting the therapeutic efficacy.

Circular-polarization discrimination appears in many antennas＇ applications. A compensation approach based on multilayer film structure is proposed to improve the axial ratio of the magnitude of the two perpendicular modes of the lump ports. The goal is to widen the beamwidth of radiation that has an axial ratio less than 3 dB and thus reducing the complexity at the receiver. A transfer matrix method was developed to represent the multilayer film and characterize its performance. Simulation using high frequency structure simulator shows that a crossed dipole, as an example, can achieve a beamwidth of more than 30° at the frequency of 12.45 Ghz after compensation. Finally, conclusions and future work about this compensation method are presented.

Eighteen carbonyl species in C_1-C_（10） were measured in the dining areas,kitchens and exhaust streams of six different restaurant types in Kaohsiung,southern *** results in the dining areas show that Japanese barbecue（45.06 ppb） had the highest total carbonyl concentrations（sum of 18 compounds）,followed by Chinese hotpot（38.21 ppb）,Chinese stir-frying（8.99 ppb）,Western fast-food（8.22 ppb）,Chinese-Western mixed style（7.38 ppb）,and Chinese buffet（3.08 ppb）,due to their different arrangements for dining and cooking spaces and different cooking *** average,low carbon-containing species（C_1-C_4）,e.g.,formaldehyde,acetaldehyde,acetone and butyraldehyde were dominant and contributed 55.01%-94.52%of total carbonyls in the dining areas of all ***,Chinese-Western mixed restaurants（45.48 ppb） had high total carbonyl concentrations in kitchens mainly because of its small kitchen and poor ***,high carbon-containing species（C_5-C_（10）） such as hexaldehyde,heptaldehyde and nonanaldehyde（16.62%-77.00%of total carbonyls） contributed comparatively with low carbon-containing compounds（23.01%-83.39%of total carbonyls） in ***,Chinese stir-frying（132.10 ppb）,Japanese barbecue（125.62 ppb）,Western fast-food（122.67 ppb）,and Chinese buffet（119.96 ppb） were the four restaurant types with the highest total carbonyl concentrations in exhaust streams,indicating that stir-frying and grilling are inclined to produce polluted *** risk assessments indicate that Chinese hotpot and Japanese barbecue exceeded the limits of cancer risk（10^（-6）） and hazard index（=1）,mainly due to high concentrations of *** other four restaurants were below both limits.

Particle image velocimetry（PIV） is utilized to measure the non-reacting flow field in a reflow combustor with multiple and single swirlers. The velocity field, vortex structure and total vorticity levels are experimentally obtained using two different boundary conditions, representing a single confined swirler and multiple swirlers in an annular combustor. The influence of the boundary conditions on the flow field at several locations downstream of the swirlers is experimentally investigated, showing that the central vortex in the multi-swirler case is more concentrated than in the single-swirler case. The vorticity of the central vortex and average cross-sectional vorticity are relatively low at the swirler outlet in both cases. Both of these statistics gradually increase to the maximum values near 20 mm downstream of the swirler outlet, and subsequently decrease. It is also found that the central vortex in the multi-swirler case is consistently greater than the single-swirler case. These results demonstrate the critical influence of boundary conditions on flow characteristic of swirling flow, providing insight into the difference of the experiments on testbed combustor and the full-scale annular combustors.

Photomultiplication-type polymer photodetectors(PM-PPDs)were achieved with polymer P3hT as donor and Py3Se-1V as acceptor based on structure of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/active layer/*** optimal weight ratio of P3hT to Py3Se-1V is about 100:*** of isolated electron traps are formed with Py3Se-1V surrounded by P3hT due to rather less content of Py3Se-1V in active layers and about 0.94 e V energy offset between the lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals(LUMO)of P3hT and *** optimal PM-PPDs exhibit broad spectral response from 350 to 950 nm and external quantum efficiency(EQE)values of68,200%at 360 nm,26,400%at 630 nm and 19,500%at 850 nm under-15 V *** working mechanism of PM-PPDs is attributed to the interfacial trap-assisted hole tunneling injection from external *** performance of PM-PPDs can be further improved by incorporating appropriate PMBBDT with high hole mobility as the third *** EQE values of optimal ternary PM-PPDs are increased to 105,000%at 360 nm,40,000%at 630 nm and 31,800%at 850 nm under-15 V bias,benefiting from the enhanced hole transport in ternary active *** optimal ternary PM-PPDs were successfully applied in a light-controlled circuit to turn on or turn off light emitting diode(LED).

This paper describes static and dynamic procedures to calculate seismic demand specified by the current seismic design code for buildings in Taiwan, which was issued in 2005. For design levels with a return period of 475 years, the design spectral response acceleration can be developed for general sites, near-fault sites and Taipei Basin. In addition, in order to prevent building collapse during extremely large earthquakes and yielding of structural components and elements during frequent small earthquakes, the required seismic demands at the maximum considered earthquake level （MCE, 2%/50 years） and operational level are also included in the new seismic design *** dynamic analysis procedures, both the response spectrum method and time history method are specified in the new seismic design code. Finally, procedures to generate spectrum compatible ground motions for time history analysis are illustrated in this paper.

Despite the significant progress made recently in all-polymer solar cells(all-PSCs),it is still quite challenging to achieve high open-circuit voltage(V_(oc))and short-circuit current density(J_(sc))simultaneously in order to further improve their *** recent strategy of using selenophene to replace thiophene on the y6 based polymer acceptors has resulted in significantly improved J_(sc)s of the resulting ***,such modifications have also depressed V_(oc),which compromises the overall performance of the ***,we present the design and synthesis of a novel polymer acceptor,PyT-1S1Se,created by inserting an asymmetrical selenophene-fused framework to precisely manipulate optical absorption and electronic *** with the selenium-free analog,PyT-2S,and symmetrical selenium-fused analog,PyT-2Se,the PyT-1S1Se derived all-PSCs not only deliver optimized J_(sc)(24.1 mA cm^(−2))and V_(oc)(0.926 V)metrics,but also exhibit a relatively low energy loss of 0.502 ***,these devices obtain a record-high power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 16.3%in binary *** work demonstrates an effective molecular design strategy for balancing the trade-off between V_(oc) and J_(sc) to achieve highefficiency all-PSCs.

The deep-level traps induced by charged defects at the grain boundaries(GBs)of polycrystalline organic-inorganic halide perovskite(OIhP)films serve as major recombination centres,which limit the device ***,we incorporate specially designed poly(3-aminothiophenol)-coated gold(Au@PAT)nanoparticles into the perovskite absorber,in order to examine the influence of plasmonic resonance on carrier dynamics in perovskite solar *** changes in the photophysical properties of the OIhP films reveal that plasmon excitation could fill trap sites at the GB region through photo-brightening,whereas transient absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations correlate this photo-brightening of trap states with plasmon-induced interfacial *** a result,the device achieved the best efficiency of 22.0%with robust operational *** work provides unambiguous evidence for plasmon-induced trap occupation in OIhP and reveals that plasmonic nanostructures may be one type of efficient additives to overcome the recombination losses in perovskite solar cells and thin-film solar cells in general.
