Bulk Cu-Ti alloy reinforced by TiB2 nano particles was prepared using in-situ reaction between Cu 3.4%Ti and Cu-0.7%B m.ster alloys along with.rapid solidification and subsequent h.at treatm.nt for 1-10 h.at 900 ℃. h.gh.resolution transm.ssion electron m.croscopy （h.TEm. ch.racterization sh.wed th.t prim.ry TiB2 nano particles and TiB wh.skers were form.d by in-situ reaction between Ti and B in th. liquid copper. Th. form.tion of TiB wh.skers with.n th. m.lt led to coarsening of TiB2 particles. Prim.ry TiB2 particles were dispersed along th. grain boundaries and h.ndered grain growth.at h.gh.tem.erature, wh.le th. secondary TiB2 particles were form.d during h.at treatm.nt of th. alloy by diffusion reaction of solute titanium.and boron inside th. grains. Electrical conductivity and h.rdness of th. com.osite were evaluated during h.at treatm.nt. Th. results indicated th.t th. form.tion of secondary TiB2 particles in th. m.trix caused a delay in h.rdness reduction at h.gh.tem.erature. Th. electrical conductivity and h.rdness increased up to 8 h.of h.at treatm.nt and reach.d 33.5% IACS and h. 158, respectively.

Growing evidences indicate th.t dysfunction of autoph.gy contributes to th. disease path.genesis of am.otroph.c lateral sclerosis(ALS)and frontotem.oral dem.ntia(FTd),two neurodegenerative *** GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat RNA expansion in ch.om.som. 9 open reading fram. 72(C9orf72)is th. m.st genetic cause of both.ALS and *** to th. previous studies,GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat undergoes th. unconventional repeat-associated non-ATG translation,wh.ch.produces dipeptide repeat(dPR)*** th.re is a growing understanding th.t C9orf72 dPRs h.ve a strong ability to h.rm.neurons and induce C9orf72-linked ALS/FTd,wh.th.r th.se dPRs can affect autoph.gy rem.ins *** th. present study,we find th.t poly-GR and poly-PR,two arginine-containing dPRs wh.ch.display th. m.st cytotoxic properties according to th. previous studies,strongly inh.bit starvation-induced ***,our data indicate th.t arginine-rich.dPRs enh.nce th. interaction between BCL2 and BECN1/Beclin 1 by inh.biting BCL2 ph.sph.rylation,th.refore th.y can im.air autoph.gic clearance of neurodegenerative disease-associated protein aggregates under starvation condition in ***,our study not only h.gh.igh.s th. role of C9orf72 dPR in autoph.gy dysfunction,but also provides novel insigh. th.t ph.rm.cological intervention of autoph.gy using SW063058,a sm.ll m.lecule com.ound th.t can disrupt th. interaction between BECN1 and BCL2,m.y reduce C9orf72 dPR-induced neurotoxicity.

Th. study aim.d to assess th. clinical, laboratory, and blood gas analysis of h.rses undergoing m.rch. training and th. effects of voluntary ingestion of h.droelectrolytic and energy replenish.rs after exercise. Eigh. h.rses of both.genders aged between 5 and 10 years, were included in th. study. Th. exercise consisted of a 10-m.n warm.up followed by 45 m.n uninterrupted m.rch. on a flat dirt track in th. m.rning. After exercise, th. h.rses received one of th. following treatm.nts: drinking water (control group);h.droelectrolytic and energy replenish.r containing sodium.ch.oride, potassium.ch.oride, calcium.acetate, m.gnesium.ch.oride, sodium.citrate, dextrose, m.ltodextrin, and sucrose in th.ee different concentrations (Replenish.rs A, B, and C). Th. h.rses were distributed across th. four treatm.nts in a 4 × 4 Latin Squares design using a Split-plot system.with.48-h. intervals. Clinical and laboratory evaluations were conducted at four tim. points: T0 - 5 m.n before exercise;T1 - up to 5 m.n after exercise;T2 - 2 h. after starting treatm.nt;and T4 - 4 h. after beginning treatm.nt. Concentrations of urea, creatinine, lactate, ph.sph.rus, and ionized calcium.significantly ch.nged after exercise. An increase in blood ph.and a decrease in ch.oride concentrations were observed wh.n replenish.rs B and C were offered after exercise. Th. replacem.nts were ingested spontaneously by th. anim.ls in a volum. greater th.n th.t of th. control group (water). Replacem.nt B was th. m.st ingested by th. anim.ls, dem.nstrating its greatest potential.

Th. wear resistance of austenitic stainless steels can be im.roved by th.rm.-ch.m.cal surface treatm.nt with.nitrogen and carbon. h.wever, it is possible th.t th. corrosion resistance will be im.aired by th. precipitation of ch.om.um.itrid or -carbide. Th. present contribution deals with.investigations of th. corrosion beh.viour and structural ch.racteristics of a low tem.erature nitrided and carburised austenitic stainless steel. Th. m.terial investigated was AISI 316L (X2CrNim.l7-12-2) austenitic stainless steel. A com.ercial plasm.-nitriding unit (pulsed dc) was used for th. nitriding and carburising process. Additional sam.les were treated by th. gasoxinitriding process for a com.arison between plasm.- and gasoxinitriding. Th. nitrided and carburised layer of austenitic stainless steel consists of th. nitrogen or carbon S-ph.se (expanded austenite), respectively. X-ray diffraction investigations sh.w th. typical sh.ft of th. peaks to lower angles, indicating expansion of th. fee lattice. Also th. X-ray diffraction tech.ique was em.loyed to study th. residual stresses in th. nitrogen and carbon S-ph.se. Th. corrosion beh.viour of surface engineered sam.les was investigated with.electroch.m.cal m.th.ds. Anodic potentiodynam.c polarisation curves were recorded for testing th. resistance against general corrosion (in h.SO4) and pitting corrosion (in NaCl).
