Th. effects of welding speed on th. m.croscopic and m.croscopic residual stresses(RSes) in friction stir welded 17 vol.% SiCp/2009 Al-T4 com.osite plates were studied via neutron diffraction and an im.roved decoupled h.erarch.cal m.ltiscale m.deling m.th.ds. m.asurem.nts sh.wed th.t th. m.croscopic and total RSes h.d th. largest variations in th. longitudinal direction(Ld). Increasing th. welding speed led to h.gh.r values of m.asured Ld m.croscopic and total RSes in th. m.trix. Th. welding speed also significantly influenced th. distributions and m.gnitudes of th. m.croscopic RSes. Th. RSes were predicted via an im.roved h.erarch.cal m.ltiscale m.del, wh.ch.includes a constant coefficient of friction based th.rm.l m.del. Th. RSes in th. com.osite plates before friction stir welding(FSW) were com.uted and th.n set as th. initial states of th. FSW process during m.deling. Th.s im.roved decoupled m.ltiscale m.del provided im.roved predictions of th. tem.erature and RSes com.ared with.our previous m.del.

Th. present study aim. to investigate th. equation of state(EOS)param.ters of Cam.3 in aReCh.d09),AIFR(dO3),CU3A11(LI2)and CuTi3(L60)structures,using full potential linear m.ffin-tin orbitals(FP-Lm.O)approach.based on th. density functional th.ory(dFT).Th. local density approxim.tion(LdA)and th. generalized gradient approxim.tion(GGA)were both.applied for th. exch.nge-correlation potential *** calculated equation of slate param.ters at equilibrium.in general,agreed well with.th. available data of th. *** calculations sh.wed th.t under com.ression Cam.3 transform. from.dO3 to dO9 at about 29.96GPa,and 25.1 GPa using LdA and GGA,*** elastic constants C,y,aggregate m.duli,Vickers h.rdness,sound velocity,and debye tem.erature of Cam.3 in d03 structure were also reported,discussed and *** LdA(GGA),th. calculated values of h. andθd were found at around 5.80GPa(5.93GPa)and 393.44 K(389.91 K),*** band structure,total density of states(TdOS)as well as th. partial density of states(PdOS)h.ve been also *** electronic band structure confirm. th. m.tallic beh.vior of Cam.3 in dO3 ph.se,th. valence bands are dom.nated by th. m.xim.m.contribution of‘d’like states of Ca in th. energy ranging from.2 to 3 eV for GGA,and from.4.5 to 5 eV for LdA,respectively.

In th.s paper, we present integral cross sections （ICS） for electron im.act excitation of th. n = 2 levels in h.lium.in th. im.act energy range of 23.5 eV to 35 eV. Th. ICS of each.final state, 2^3S, 2^1S, 2^3P and 2^1P, h.s been determ.ned by integration of th. angular differential cross sections （dCS） over all of 0° to 180°, wh.re th.se dCS were obtained from.both.our previous experim.nts and th. extrapolation using th. convergent close coupling calculation. Th. present experim.ntal ICS for th. optically allowed 21P transition state are also com.ared with.th.se obtained from.th. BE f-scaling m.th.d. Very good agreem.nt between th. experim.ntal and BE f-scaled 21P ICSs is generally found in th. m.asured im.act energy region.

Th. corrosion inh.bition for carbon steel in circulating cooling water by m.dified lignosulph.nate h.s been investigated using electroch.m.cal im.edance spectroscopy tech.ique. Results sh.w th.t th. inh.bition efficiency of m.dified lignosulph.nate GCL2 is a great im.rovem.nt on th.t of lignosulph.nate. Th. m.xim.m.inh.bition efficiency of GCL2 reach.s 99.21% at th. concentration of 400m.·L^-1 at 303K. Th. corrosion inh.bition of GCL2 is attributed to form.ng adsorption film.on th. m.tal surface for th. electroch.m.cal im.edance spectroscopy in GCL2 solution sh.ws m.re th.n one ***,results also indicate th.t it is m.re efficient in stirring solution th.n in still solution for GCL2 because th. constant of adsorption in stirring solution is m.ch.larger th.n th.t in still solution. Th. adsorption of inh.bitor GCL2 follows Langm.ir＇s adsorption isoth.rm.

Objective： To determ.ne wh.th.r m.ltivitam.n supplem.ntation im.acts psych.logical and inflam.atory m.rkers of wom.n wh. are experiencing psych.logical distress. design, setting, participants and interventions： An 8-week random.zed controlled trial was conducted to assess ch.nges in both.psych.logical state and pro-inflam.atory m.rkers of patients receiving m.ltivi- tam.ns or placebo. Th. sam.le com.rised wom.n wh. reported elevated psych.logical distress in th. previous 4 weeks. m.in outcom. m.asures： Psych.logical state was assessed using Spielberger＇s State-Trait Personality Inventory to assess anxiety, curiosity, depression and anger. Pro-inflam.atory m.rkers com.rised interleukin （IL）-113, IL-5, IL-6, turnout necrosis factor （TNF）-α and TNF-6. Results： Im.rovem.nts across tim. were observed for all psych.logical m.asures and cytokines, except IL-5, but were independent of th. active intervention. Only TNF-β dem.nstrated a significant differential ch.nge between groups over th. course of th. intervention, in favour of m.ltivitam.n supplem.ntation （active group m.an rank decreased from.11.1 to 7.1 ; placebo group m.an rank decreased from.8.9 to 7.8）. Conclusion： Th. results suggest th.t adm.nistration of m.ltivitam.ns was not effective in im.roving psych.logical stare. h.wever, som. evidence supported th. positive im.act of m.ltivitam.n supplem.ntation on pro-inflam.atory cytokine profiles of wom.n currently experiencing stress.

Genetic m.nipulation of cellulose biosynth.sis in trees m.y provide novel insigh.s into th. growth.and developm.nt of trees. To explore th.s possibility, th. overexpression of an aspen secondary wall-associated cellulose synth.se （PtdCesAS） gene was attem.ted in transgenic aspen （Populus trem.loides L.） and unexpectedly resulted in silencing of th. transgene as well as its endogenous counterparts. Th. m.in axis of th. transgenic aspen plants quickly stopped growing, and weak branch.s adopted a weeping growth.h.bit. Furth.rm.re, transgenic plants initially developed sm.ller leaves and a less extensive root system. Secondary xylem.（wood） of transgenic aspen plants contained as little as 10% cellulose norm.lized to dry weigh. com.ared to 41% cellulose typically found in norm.l aspen wood. Th.s m.ssive reduction in cellulose was accom.anied by proportional increases in lignin （35%） and non-cellulosic polysacch.rides （55%） com.ared to th. 22% lignin and 36% non-cellulosic polysacch.rides in control plants. Th. transgenic stem. pro- duced typical collapsed or ＇irregular＇ xylem.vessels th.t h.d altered secondary wall m.rph.logy and contained greatly reduced am.unts of crystalline cellulose. Th.se results dem.nstrate th. fundam.ntal role of secondary wall cellulose with.n th. secondary xylem.in m.intaining th. strength.and structural integrity required to establish.th. vertical growth.h.bit in trees.
