Th. reactions of nickel group m.2+ with.th.olate and ph.sph.ne in m.Oh.yield m.nonuclear and binuclear com.lexes. Ni 2 (PEt 3) 2 (pdt) 2 (pdt = 1, 2-propanedith.olate) was synth.sized and analyzed by single crystal X-ray diffraction m.th.d. Th. com.lex is m.noclinic with.space group P2 1/c, m.r = 566. 16 a = 18. 737 (5), b = 9.906(4), c = 14. 540(10) Å; V = 2697. 65 Å 3, d c = 1. 394 g/cm.3 for Z = 4; th. final R(R w) = 0. 062(0. 072). Th. com.lex is a dim.r, wh.re th. Ni atom. are linked by two sulph.r atom. from.SC 3h.6S 2- (pdt 2-) ligands and each.Ni atom.is four-coordinated by one P and th.ee S atom. with.distorted square-planar geom.try. Th. Ni -Ni distance is 3. 025 Å , th. average Ni-S, Ni-P distances are 2. 187 and 2. 194 Å , respectively.

Gd202S：Eu3＋ nanoparticles were synth.sized using two step process consisting of sulfuration of basic carbonates obtained by h.m.genous precipitation. Annealing of lanth.nide nitrates at total concentration of 5x 10^-3 m.l/L in a water solution containing relatively h.gh. th.ee m.lar concentration of urea ensured th. optim.l conditions for th. reproducible preparation of uniform.and sm.ll sph.rical particles. during sulfuration step elem.ntal sulfur was m.xed with.precursor wh.ch.elim.nated necessity of using an auxiliary furnace and provided sulfur-reach.reaction atm.sph.re. Such.optim.zed protocol afforded synth.sis of sph.rical and non-agglom.rated nanoparticles with.diam.ter sm.ller th.n 100 nm. Th. precursors m.rph.logy was m.intained, but particles size was reduced by 15%-20% during sulfuration. Th. results indicated th.t h.gh.r em.ssion intensity was observed for Gd202S：Eu3＋（8%） oxysulfide sam.le synth.sized using crystalline Gd（CO3）Oh.precursor, th.n for th.t obtained from.am.rph.us Gd2（Oh.2（CO3）2.h.0 precursor, alth.ugh.som. furth.r efforts to im.rove m.rph.logy of th. form.r are still required.

Num.rical sim.lations were used to optim.ze th. casting design and conditions for large cast iron castings for m.rine engines, Sim.lations of th. m.ld filling and solidification sequences were used to analyze th. problem. of previous casting conditions with.m.rked im.rovem.nts for large cylinder liner parts, Th. am.unt and positions of ch.lls were optim.zed to im.rove th. m.ch.nical properties and to m.nim.ze th. sh.inkage and m.cro porosity in th. castings. Ultra sonic testing, penetration testing, and m.ch.nical property testing sh.w no defects in th. castings with.th. productivity significantly increased.

Th. present investigation evaluated th. effectiveness of Ch.orella cells in concentrating Cu and Ni in th.ir cells and th.reby rem.ving th. two m.tals from.solution. Th. rem.val efficiency of th. two m.tals by free and im.obilized algal cells were furth.r studied. (1) Four types of Ch.orella cells, nam.ly Ch.orella pyrenoidosa (26) (from.Carolina Biological Supplies Com.any), Ch.orella h.BC-1 and-2 (isolated from.a polluted stream.receiving wastewater from.several electroplating factories) and Ch.orella h.BC-3 (from.a clean water pond) were subjected to different concentrations of Cu and Ni accordingly. It was revealed th.t Ch.orella h.BC-1 was th. m.st tolerant species toCu and Ni as reflected by th.ir h.gh.st values of 48 h.and 96 h.'h.gh.st no effect concentrations' (Th. h.gh.st concentration of th. tested substance th.t does not inh.bit th. growth.rate of th. alga: Cu 2 and Ni 10 m./1 at 48 h. Cu 2 and Ni 5 at 96 h.. Th.s was followed by C. pyrenoidosa (26) and th.n C. h.BC-2 wh.le C. h.BC-3 h.d th. lowest tolerance to th. two m.tals (Cu 0.5 and Ni 2 at 48 h. Cu 0.5 and Ni 1 m./1 at 96 h.. (2) It was furth.r revealed th.t C. h.BC-1 h.d h.gh.r concentration factors and rem.val efficiencies of Ni (734-963 m./1, 16.3-18.7%) and C. h.BC-2 h.d h.gh.r concentration factors and rem.val efficiencies of Cu (2316-2839 m./1, 53.7-66%) wh.n exposed to lower concentrations of Cu (0.5,1 and 2 m./1) and Ni (5, 10 and 13 m./1). (3) By treating th. free and im.obilized algal cells (algal cells entrapped in alginate beads) with.different concentrations of Cu and Ni, it was observed th.t free cells h.d h.gh.r concentration factors and rem.val efficiencies wh.n com.ared with.im.obilized cells (free cells: Cu 1577-3056 m./1, 24.2-71.4%; Ni 355-849 m./1, 4.8-18.7%; im.obilized cells: Cu 453-935 m./1, 13.9-53.2%; Ni 244-486 m./1, 3.2-11.9%).

A novel two-step cooling experim.nt was establish.d to sim.late th. slow cooling process of continuous annealing production line for transform.tion-induced plasticity （TRIP） steel. Th. m.crostructures and m.ch.nical properties of TRIP steel soaked at 700℃ for different tim. were investigated by tensile test, scanning electron m.croscopy, X-ray diffraction, and th.rm.dynam.c and kinetic calculation. It is sh.wn th.t th. steel soaked for 15 s exh.bits th. optim.l product of strength.and elongation （PSE 〉 30,000 m.a%） due to th. transform.tion of austenite to proeutectoid ferrite, wh.ch.delays th. bainite transform.tion and im.roves th. stability of retained austenite. In addition, th. m.ch.nical properties of TRIP steel soaked over 30 s are m.ch.lower, resulting from.th. precipitation of cem.ntite, wh.ch.decreases th. stability of retained austenite and weakens th. TRIP effect.

Th.s periodic beh.viour is interpreted in term. of a rotating double-jet m.del in wh.ch.th. two jets are created from.th. black h.les of a binary system.and rotating with.th. period of th. orbital m.tion. Th. periodic variations in th. radio fluxes of 3C 454.3 are suggested to be m.inly due to th. ligh.h.use effects （or th. variation in doppler boosting） of th. precessing jets caused by th. orbital m.tion. In addition, variations in th. rate of m.ss accreting onto th. black h.les m.y be also involved.

Th. electrocatalytic oxidation of biom.ss-derived furfural(FF)feedstocks into 2-furoic acid(FA)h.lds im.ense industrial potential in optics,cosm.tics,polym.rs,and ***,we fabricated Co O/Ni O/nickel foam.NF)and Cu_(2)O/Ni O/NF electrodes via in situ pulsed laser irradiation in liquids(PLIL)for th. bifunctional electrocatalysis of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and furfural oxidation reaction(FOR),*** oxidation of NF surface to NiO and deposition of CoO and/or Cu_(2)O on NF during PLIL offer distinct advantages for enh.ncing both.th. OER and ***/NiO/NF electrocatalyst provides a consistently low overpotential of~359 m.V(OER)at 10 m.A/cm.(2),ach.eving th. m.xim.m.FA yield(~16.37 m.m.with.61.5%selectivity,79.5%carbon balance,and a rem.rkable Faradaic efficiency of~90.1%during 2 h.of FOR at 1.43 V(*** h.drogen electrode).m.ch.nistic path.ay via in situ electroch.m.cal-Ram.n spectroscopy on CoO/NiO/NF reveals th. involvem.nt of ph.se transition interm.diates(NiOOh.and CoOOh.as surface-active centers during electroch.m.cal *** carbonyl carbon in FF is attacked by h.droxyl groups to form.unstable h.drates th.t subsequently undergo furth.r oxidation to yield FA *** m.th.d h.lds prom.se for large-scale applications,enabling sim.ltaneous production of renewable building m.terials and fuel.
