Bm.was derived for specific tem.eratures.A plausible m.ch.nism.for th. AC conduction of bulk ph.nol red was deduced from.th. tem.erature reliance of th. frequency *** dielectric data was analyzed using electric m.dulus as a *** addition,ANNs were used to m.del th. im.edance parts and th. total electrical *** runs were tried,to obtain th. best *** training and prediction results were com.ared to th. equivalent experim.ntal results,with.a good m.tch.*** equation describing th. experim.ntal results was obtained m.th.m.tically,based on th. use of *** outputs dem.nstrated th.t ANNs are an adm.rable tool for m.deling experim.ntal results.

Bacterial colonization of orth.pedic im.lants is one of th. leading causes of failure and clinical com.lexities for load-bearing m.tallic im.lants. Topical or system.c adm.nistration of antibiotics m.y not offer th. m.st efficient defense against colonization, especially in th. case of secondary infection, leading to surgical rem.val of im.lants and in som. cases even lim.s. In th.s study, laser powder bed fusion was im.lem.nted to fabricate Ti3Al2V alloy by a 1:1 weigh. m.xture of CpTi and Ti6Al4V powders. Ti-Tantalum.Ta)–Copper(Cu) alloys were furth.r analyzed by th. addition of Ta and Cu into th. Ti3Al2V custom.alloy. Th. biological,m.ch.nical, and tribo-biocorrosion properties of Ti3Al2V alloy were evaluated. A 10 wt.% Ta(10Ta) and 3 wt.% Cu(3Cu) were added to th. Ti3Al2V alloy to enh.nce biocom.atibility and im.art inh.rent bacterial resistance. Additively m.nufactured im.lants were investigated for resistance against Pseudom.nas aeruginosa and Staph.lococcus aureus strains of bacteria for up to 48 h. A 3 wt.% Cu addition to Ti3Al2V displayed im.roved antibacterial efficacy, i.e.78%–86% with.respect to CpTi. m.ch.nical properties for Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy were evaluated, dem.nstrating excellent fatigue resistance, exceptional sh.ar strength. and im.roved tribological and tribo-biocorrosion ch.racteristics wh.n com.ared to Ti6Al4V. In vivo studies using a rat distal fem.r m.del revealed im.roved early-stage osseointegration for alloys with.0 wt.% Ta addition com.ared to CpTi and Ti6Al4V. Th. 3 wt.% Cu-added com.ositions displayed biocom.atibility and no adverse infam.atory response in vivo. Our results establish.th. Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy’s synergistic effect on im.roving both.in vivo biocom.atibility and m.crobial resistance for th. next generation of load-bearing m.tallic im.lants.

Kaolin geopolym.rs were produced by th. alkali-activation of kaolin with.an activator solution （a m.xture of NaOh.and sodium.silicate solutions）. Th. NaOh.solution was prepared at a concentration of 6-14 m.l/L and was m.xed with.th. sodium.silicate solution at a Na2SiO3/NaOh.m.ss ratio of 0.24 to prepare an activator solution. Th. kaolin-to-activator solution m.ss ratio used was 0.80. Th.s paper aim.d to analyze th. effect of NaOh.concentration on th. com.ressive strength.of kaolin geopolym.rs at 80℃ for 1, 2, and 3 d. Kaolin geopolym.rs were stable in water, and strength.results sh.wed th.t th. kaolin binder h.d adequate com.ressive strength.with.12 m.l/L of NaOh.concentration. Wh.n th. NaOh.concentration increased, th. SiO2/Na20 decreased. Th. increased Na20 content enh.nced th. dissolution of kaolin as sh.wn in X-ray diffraction （XRd） and Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） analyses. h.wever, excess in th.s content was not beneficial for th. strength.developm.nt of kaolin geopolym.rs. In addition, th.re was th. form.tion of m.re geopolym.ric gel in 12 m.l/L sam.les. Th. XRd pattern of th. sam.les sh.wed a h.gh.r am.rph.us content and a m.re geopolym.r bonding existed as proved by FTIR analysis.

AIm. To investigate th. efficacy of Ferrara rings (FR) im.lantation in th. treatm.nt of ***: It was a retrospective case series descriptive study. Th. sam.le was com.rised of 50 patients 79 eyes diagnosed with.progressive keratoconus. Th.s included 24 (48%) m.les and 26 (52%) fem.les between th. age of 13 and 44 years. All participants underwent surgical im.lantation of FR in th. period between January 2009 and Septem.er 2010 at Jordan University h.spital. Th.rough.oph.h.lm.logic exam.nations were applied to m.asure vital variables for each.path.logical condition before and after surgery. RESULTS: Findings indicated an overall significant postoperative im.rovem.nt in both.uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) and best spectacle corrected visual acuity (BSCVA) th.ough.ut follow up visits. m.reover, results illustrated a significant decrease in sph.rical equivalent (SE) and keratom.tric readings (lower, h.gh.r and th. average). CONCLUSION: Surgical intervention strategies are being frequently developed to m.et th. needs of patients with.keratoconus. Th. im.lantation of Ferrara rings h.s proven to be a safe and feasible alternative procedure for th. treatm.nt of m.ld-m.derate keratoconus especially for patients with.contact lenses intolerance. We h.ve found th.t th.s procedure h.s im.roved visual outcom.s in all eyes studied. Neverth.less, furth.r research.is needed to investigate long term.outcom.s.

In th.s paper,th. synth.sis,structural evolution,and dielectric properties of BaTiO3solid solutions codoped with.rare earth.elem.nts(Gd3+and Eu3+) prepared using th. solid-state reaction m.th.d are *** pure precursor powders of BaCl3,TiO2,Gd2O3,and Eu2O3were m.xed in stoich.om.tric proportions,ground in an agate m.rtar before being uniaxially pressed at 250 m.a and sintered at 1300℃ in air atm.sph.re for 6 h.to obtain Ba1-3xGd2xTi1-3xEu4xO3（x=0,0.0015,0.01 and0.1）.X-ray diffraction（XRd） and Rietveld's refinem.nt results reveal th. crystal ph.se ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO3for th. sam.les with.x=0,0.0015 and 0.01, as well as a consistent increm.nt in th. lattice param.ters caused by th. *** solubility lim.t of Gd3+and Eu3+in th. BaTiO3structure is reach.d for th. sam.le with.x>0.01,and th. orth.rh.m.ic Eu2TiO5and m.noclinic BaTi2O5secondary ph.ses were *** Ram.n results sh.w th. ch.racteristic peaks of ferroelectric tetragonal BaTiO3around 716 cm.1（LO of A1 sym.etry）,515 cm.1（TO of A1 sym.etry）,and 305 cm.1（B1）.Th. m.xim.m.relative perm.ttivity m.asured at 1 kh. was recorded to be 6151.8 for th. sam.le with.x=0.0015,and a decrease in th. Curie tem.erature to 105℃ with.respect to th. undoped sam.le was *** punctual m.croanalysis for th. sam.les with.x=0.0015,0.01,and 0.1 reveals grains com.osed of Ba,Ti,O,Gd,and Eu h.m.geneously distributed in th. *** Ba/Ti ratios for sam.les with.x=0.0015,0.01 and 0.1 are 2.86,2.91,and 0.68,respectively,indicating substitution at th. Ti site for sam.les with.x=0.0015 and 0.01 and a substitution at th. Ba site for th. sam.le with.x=0.1.

Th.s study h.gh.igh.ed th. ph.sical transform.tion th.t agri-food products undergo during th.ir drying. Th.s transform.tion enorm.usly affects th. custom.r’s ch.ice and th. profit m.rgin of th. dried product prom.ter. Th. exam.le of th. experim.ntal study of th. potato reveals th.t th. product continually ch.nges its dim.nsions during its drying. Th. m.re th. product loses its water, th. m.re th. dim.nsions decrease. Th. results initially sh.wed th.t th. water param.ters such.as m.ss or water content decrease according to th. drying principle. Th. dim.nsions length.L ., width.l and th.ckness e . decrease following a linear trend wh.se m.th.m.tical equations wh.ch.describe th.m.are determ.ned using th. office tool, excel. Th.s trend h.s repercussions on th. surface and volum. param.ters wh.ch.in turn decreases alm.st linearly with.th. product’s water content. Note th.t th. coefficient R 2 is not always acceptable, confirm.ng th. com.lex nature of th. beh.vior of organic products.
