LiMn_(0.5)fe_(0.5)PO_(4) has attracted great interest due to its good electrochemical performance and higher operating *** has led to a greater than 30 percent higher energy density than for commercial Li fe PO4 olivine *** the phase transition behaviors and kinetics of this material will help researchers to design and develop next generation cathodes for Li-ion *** this study,we investigated non-equilibrium phase transition behaviors in a LiMn_(0.5)fe_(0.5)PO_(4) cathode material during charge–discharge processes by varying current rates(C-rates)using synchrotron in-situ X-ray *** methods included wide angle X-ray scattering(in-situ WAXS)and X-ray absorption spectroscopy(in-situ XAS).The WAXS spectra indicate that the phase transition of LiMn_(0.5)fe_(0.5)PO_(4) material at slow C-rates is induced by a two-phase *** contrast,at a high C-rate(5 C),the formation of an intermediate phase upon discharge is clearly ***,the oxidation numbers of the redox reactions of fe^(2+)/fe^(3+)and Mn^(2+)/Mn^(3+)were evaluated using in-situ *** combination of synchrotron in-situ X-ray techniques gives clear insights into the non-equilibrium phase transition behavior of a LiMn_(0.5)fe_(0.5)PO_(4) cathode *** new understanding will be useful for further developments of this highly promising cathode material for practical commercialization.

Acquired aplastic anemia(AA) is a bone marrow failure syndrome characterized by peripheral cytopenias and bone marrow hypoplasia. It is ultimately fatal without treatment, most commonly from infection or hemorrhage. Current treatments focus on suppressing immune-mediated destruction of bone marrow stem cells or replacing hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs) by transplantation. Our incomplete understanding of the pathogenesis of AA has limited development of targeted treatment options. Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) play a vital role in HSC proliferation; they also modulate immune responses and maintain an environment supportive of hematopoiesis. Some of the observed clinical manifestations of AA can be explained by mesenchymal dysfunction. MSC infusions have been shown to be safe and may offer new approaches for the treatment of this disorder. Indeed, infusions of MSCs may help suppress auto-reactive, T-cell mediated HSC destruction and help restore an environment that supports hematopoiesis. Small pilot studies using MSCs as monotherapy or as adjuncts to HSC transplantation have been attempted as treatments for AA. Here we review the current understanding of the pathogenesis of AA and the function of MSCs, and suggest that MSCs should be a target for further research and clinical trials in this disorder.

Mineralogical characteristics and photocatalytic properties of natural sphalerite from China

Different natural sphalerites have a range of photocatalytic properties that can potentially be exploited for environmental remediation *** develop value in the exploitation of sphalerite,samples were collected from 19 ore deposits in China and characterized for their mineralogical and photocatalytic properties.X-ray diffraction(XRD) and electron probe micro analysis(EPMA) measurements indicated that all the natural sphalerites from various localities crystallized in cubic phases with various chemical *** substitution of fe for Zn ranged from 0.235% to 14.826% by weight,Mn from 0.004% to4.868%,Cu from 0.009% to 5.529% and Cd from 0.133% to 1.576%.As fe became more abundant,the color of natural sphalerite darkened,becoming almost black;and higher fe content was associated with stronger visible light *** spectra showed emission mainly related to S-vacancies and progressively decreasing fluorescence intensity with increasing fe *** of the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange indicated that the sample with the highest Cd content but moderate fe content had the highest photocatalytic ***,the degradation of Methyl Orange(30 mg/L)attained 82.11% efficiency under visible light irradiation for 4 hr of natural sphalerite with4.262% fe and 1.576% ***,the fe content in sphalerite was found to contribute to the visible light absorption ability and the recombination rate of photo-generated electrons and holes,while substitution by Cd was observed to have a greater effect on the photocatalytic *** findings provide a scientific basis for the profitable utilization of base metal resources like sphalerite.

Superplasticity in intermetallic alloys is reviewed. Intermetallics which have been demonstrated to be superplastic include nickel-based (Ni_3Al, Ni_3Si), titanium-base (Ti_3Al, TiAl), and iron-base (fe_3Al, feAl) alloys. These alloys are primarily finegrained, two phase materials. But, superplasticity was also observed in some iron-base alloys which were in coarsegrained conditions. These alloys behave like Class I solid solution. The superplastic deformation mechanisms as well as microstructural characteristics are discussed. The superplastic forming of intermetallics is also briefly addressed.

To understand the polymorphism of the heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) genes in Chinese Han population and to explore the co-relations between HSP70 polymorphism and disease, three polymorphic loci of HSP70 genes in 127 healthy Chinese Han population in Fujian province were analyzed by PCR and restriction enzyme analysis, and the genotypes and allele frequencies of HSP70 in different populations from various area were compared. It was found that the proportions of HSP70-1 genotypes GG, GC and CC among Chinese Han population in Fujian province were 55.1%, 40.2% and 4.7% respectively, while those of HSP70-2 genotypes AA, AG and GG were 44.1%, 48.8% and 6.9% respectively, and those of HSP70-hom genotypes TT, TC and CC were 59.8%, 37.0% and 3.2% respectively. The allele frequencies of G and C in HSP70-1 were 75.2% and 24.8%; those of A and G in HSP70-2 were 68.5% and 31.5% and those of T and C in HSP70-hom were 78.3% and 21.7% respectively. The distribution of the HSP70-1 polymorphisms in Chinese Han population was almost the same as those in japanese and Mexican populations, but it was rather different from those of American and Spanish populations with a significant differences. Meanwhile, the frequency of GG homozygote in HSP70-1 was significantly higher than those in American and Spanish populations. No significant difference was found in the distribution of HSP70-2 polymorphism between Chinese and japanese populations, in which the differences among American, Mexican and Spanish populations were quite obvious. The frequency of AA homozygote in HSP70-2 was significantly higher than those in Mexican, American and Spanish populations, while, the distribution of HSP 70-hom genotype and allele frequency in Chinese Han population was almost just the same as those in japanese and Mexican populations. 采用纳米fe3O4作为磁流体包埋、戊二醛和硫脲进行交联壳聚糖,制备磁性交联壳聚糖(TTG-MCTS)。红外光谱(FTIR)和X射线能谱(EDS)分析结果表明,壳聚糖改性后,吸附能力得到提高,铀(Ⅵ)成功地被吸附在TTG-MCTS上。系统研究了溶液pH值、铀(Ⅵ)初始浓度及振荡时间对吸附容量的影响,继而得到最佳工艺条件。吸附过程用Langmuir等温式拟合优于用Freundlich等温式,最大吸附容量为161.3mg·g-1。较之拟一级动力学模型,拟二级动力学模型能更好地拟合实验数据。

尕林格大型矽卡岩铁矿位于祁漫塔格斑岩-矽卡岩成矿带内,发育一套典型的Ca质退化蚀变矽卡岩系列。其中,含黑柱石退化蚀变组合可以很好地反演流体交代热动力学过程。岩石学证据表明在早期退化蚀变阶段(Stage I),黑柱石交代石榴子石和磁铁矿,该反应根据岩浆角闪石地质温压计设定最大压力条件50 MPa,获得热动力学T=400~470°C和ΔlgfO2(HM)=4~4.2;在晚期退化蚀变阶段(Stage II),黑柱石和石英反应生成磁铁矿和铁阳起石,该反应发生在400~440°C和ΔlgfO2(HM)=4~4.4热动力学条件范围内;到了方解石-石英-硫化物阶段(Stage III),黑柱石分解形成方解石、黄铁矿和铁阳起石,该反应发生温度随着XCO2的升高而升高,在XCO2=0.0050.05范围内,分解反应条件为T=270350°C和ΔlgfO2(HM)fe和Mg的含量会强烈影响黑柱石在矽卡岩体系中的稳定性。因此,黑柱石的岩石学和相变关系可以很好地指示不同类型矽卡岩矿床的交代反应过程。
