This study presents a novel process for the fabrication of metal-intermetallic composites with a 3D bicontinuous structure, achieved through a combination of liquid metal dealloying(LMD) and subsequent alloying. Initially, porous Ti structures are produced using the LMD process, followed by immersion in a molten Mg-3Al(wt%) metal. Due to the higher thermodynamic miscibility of Al with Ti compared to Mg, the concentration of Al in the Ti matrix increases as the immersion time increases. This results in a sequential phase transition within the Ti matrix: α-Ti → Ti_(3)Al → Ti Al. The phase transition considerably affects the hardness and strength of the composite material,with the Mg-Ti_(3)Al-Ti Al composite exhibiting a maximum hardness nearly twice as high as that of the conventional Mg-Ti composite. This innovative process holds potential for the development of various bicontinuous metal-intermetallic composites.

Advancements in sensor technology have significantly enhanced atmospheric ***,metal oxide and carbon(MO_(x)/C)hybrids have gained attention for their exceptional sensitivity and room-temperature sensing ***,previous methods of synthesizing MO_(x)/C composites suffer from problems,including inhomogeneity,aggregation,and challenges in ***,we introduce a refined method that employs a metal–organic framework(MOF)as a precursor combined with direct laser *** inherent structure of MOFs ensures a uniform distribution of metal ions and organic linkers,yielding homogeneous MO_(x)/C *** laser processing facilitates precise micropatterning(<2μm,comparable to typical photolithography)of the MO_(x)/C *** optimized MOF-derived MO_(x)/C sensor rapidly detected ethanol gas even at room temperature(105 and 18 s for response and recovery,respectively),with a broad range of sensing performance from 170 to 3,400 ppm and a high response value of up to 3,500%.Additionally,this sensor exhibited enhanced stability and thermal resilience compared to previous MOF-based *** research opens up promising avenues for practical applications in MOF-derived sensing devices.

BACKGROUND Cervical necrotizing fasciitis(CNF)is a rare,aggressive form of deep neck space infection with significant morbidity and mortality *** surgical debridement acts as the cornerstone of CNF treatment;however,it often results in defects requiring complex *** SUMMARY We report two cases in which the keystone flap(KF)was used for CNF defect coverage:Case 1,an 85-year-old patient with CNF in the anterior neck,and Case 2,a 54-year-old patient with CNF in the posterior *** patients received empirical intravenous antibiotic therapy and underwent serial debridement,enabling adequate wound preparation and *** final defect size measured 5.5 cm×12 cm in Case 1 and 6 cm×11 cm in Case *** defect coverage,we employed an 8 cm×19 cm type II KF based on perforators from the superior thyroid artery in Case 1 and a 9 cm×18 cm type II KF based on perforators from the transverse cervical artery in Case *** flaps showed complete *** postoperative complications occurred in both cases,and favorable outcomes were observed at 7-and 6-month follow-ups in case 1 and 2,*** We effectively treated CNF-associated defects using the KF technique;KF is viable for covering CNF defects in carefully selected cases.

Allium is a complicated genus that includes approximately 1000 *** its morphology is well studied,the taxonomic importance of many morphological traits,including floral traits,are poorly ***,we examined and measured the floral characteristics of 87 accessions of 74 Allium taxa(belonging to 30 sections and nine subgenera)from Central to Eastern Asian *** then examined the taxonomic relationships between select flower characteristics and a phylogenetic tree based on ITS *** results confirm that floral morphology provides key taxonomic information to assess species delimitation in *** found that perianth color is an important characteristic within the ***,Polyprason,and *** ***,Cepa,and Rhizirideum,significant characteristics include ovary shape,perianth shape,and inner tepal *** species in ***,the key taxonomic character is ovule number(only one ovule in per locule).In the ***,Cepa,Polyprason,and Reticulatobulbosa,which belong to the third evolutionary line of Allium,hood-like appendages occur in the ovary,although these do not occur in *** results also indicated that the flower morphology of several species in some sections are not clearly distinguished,e.g.,***(***)and ***(***).This study provides detailed photographs and descriptions of floral characteristics and information on general distributions,habitats,and phenology of the studied taxa.

Purpose:Cancer cell metastasis is a multistep process,and the mechanism underlying extravasation remains ***3 is a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes,including cancer *** on the finding that ELK3 promotes the metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),we investigated whether ELK3 regulates the extravasation of TNBC by forming the ELK3-ID4 ***4 functions as a transcriptional regulator that interacts with other transcription factors,inhibiting their activity and subsequently influencing various biological processes associated with cell differentiation,survival,growth,and ***:We assessed the correlation between the expression of ELK3 and that of ID4 in TNBCs using bioinformatics analyses,QRT-PCR,western blot analysis,luciferase reporter assays,and chromatin ***,adhesion,invasion,and lung metastasis assays were employed to determine whether the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates the metastatic features of ***:We found that ELK3 binds directly to a binding motif close to the ID4 promoter to repress promoter *** expression of E-cadherin in TNBC was regulated by the ELK3-ID4 *** vitro and in vivo analyses showed that inhibiting ID4 expression in ELK3-knockdown MDA-MB-231(ELK3KD)cells restored the ability to extravasate and ***:The results indicate that the ELK3 regulates ID4 promoter activity,and that the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates the metastatic characteristics of TNBC ***,the data suggest that the ELK3-ID4 axis regulates metastasis of TNBCs by modulating expression of E-cadherin.

In this study,we introduce a novel bioinformatics program,Spore-associated Symbiotic Microbes Position-specific Function(SeSaMe PS Function),for position-specific functional analysis of short sequences derived from metagenome sequencing data of the arbuscular mycorrhizal *** unique advantage of the program lies in databases created based on genus-specific sequence properties derived from protein secondary structure,namely amino acid usages,codon usages,and codon contexts of 3-codon DNA *** PS Function searches a query sequence against reference sequence database,identifies 3-codon DNA 9-mers with structural roles,and creates a comparative dataset containing the codon usage biases of the 3-codon DNA 9-mers from 54 bacterial and fungal *** program applies correlation principal component analysis in conjunction with K-means clustering method to the comparative dataset.3-codon DNA 9-mers clustered as a sole member or with only a few members are often structurally and functionally distinctive sites that provide useful insights into important molecular *** program provides a versatile means for studying functions of short sequences from metagenome sequencing and has a wide spectrum of *** PS Function is freely accessible at ***.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)are plant root symbionts that play key roles in plant growth and soil *** are obligate biotrophic fungi that form coenocytic multinucleated hyphae and *** studies have shown that diverse microorganisms live on the surface of and inside their mycelia,resulting in a metagenome when whole-genome sequencing(WGS)data are obtained from sequencing AMF cultivated in *** metagenome contains not only the AMF sequences,but also those from associated *** this study,we introduce a novel bioinformatics program,Spore-associated Symbiotic Microbes(SeSaMe),designed for taxonomic classification of short sequences obtained by next-generation DNA sequencing.A genus-specific usage bias database was created based on amino acid usage and codon usage of a three consecutive codon DNA 9-mer encoding an amino acid trimer in a protein secondary *** program distinguishes between coding sequence(CDS)and non-CDS,and classifies a query sequence into a genus group out of 54 genera used as *** mean percentages of correct predictions of the CDS and the non-CDS test sets at the genus level were 71% and 50% for bacteria,68% and 73% for fungi(excluding AMF),and 49% and 72% for AMF(Rhizophagus irregularis),*** provides not only a means for estimating taxonomic diversity and abundance but also the gene reservoir of the reference taxonomic groups associated with ***,it enables users to study the symbiotic roles of associated *** can also be applicable to other microorganisms as well as soil *** is freely available at ***.

Estuaries are environments where freshwater and seawater mix and they display various salinity *** construction of river barrages and dams has rapidly changed these environments and has had a wide range of impacts on plankton *** understand the dynamics of such communities,researchers need accurate and rapid techniques for detecting plankton *** evaluated the diversity of eukaryotic plankton over a salinity gradient by applying a metagenomics tool at the Nakdong River estuary in *** samples were collected on three dates during summer and autumn of 2011 at the Eulsukdo Bridge at the mouth of that *** the 18 S rDNA allowed us to analyze 456 clones and 122 *** sequences revealed various taxonomic groups and cryptic genetic variations at the intra-and inter-specific *** analyzing the same station at each sampling date,we observed that the phylotypes presented a salinity-related pattern of diversity in *** variety of species within freshwater samples reflected the rapid environmental changes caused by freshwater *** phylotypes accounted for the highest proportion of overall diversity in the seawater *** diatoms and dinoflagellates were observed in the freshwater,brackish and seawater *** biological data for species composition demonstrate the transitional state between freshwater and ***,this metagenomics information can serve as a biological indicator for tracking changes in aquatic environments.

We propose a novel method of slice image reconstruction with controllable spatial filtering by using the correlation of periodic delta-function arrays （PDFAs） with elemental images in computational integral imaging. The multiple PDFAs, whose spatial periods correspond to object＇s depths with the elemental image array （EIA）, can generate a set of spatially filtered EIAs for multiple object depths compared with the conventional method for the depth of a single object. We analyze a controllable spatial filtering effect by the proposed method. To show the feasibility of the proposed method, we carry out preliminary experiments for multiple objects and present the results.

A discontinuity of magnetic circuits according to the end effect is generated in the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor （PMLSM）. Due to the unbalanced back electro-motive force （EMF） and impedance produced, unbalanced current is generated. The cireulatin8 current, which is caused by a decrease in the thrust, is generated by the unbalanced current. The optimal design of auxiliary-teeth at the end of the mover was carried out to solve the unbalance of phase by using design of experiment （DOE）, and compared with the basic model through finite element analysis （FEA）. As a result, the auxiliary-teeth model compensates for the decrease of thrust caused by the unbalanced phase. Also, this model is proven to reduce the detent force by the vibration and noise of the PMLSM and copper loss caused by the circulating current.
