Southwest China is a tectonically and seismically active region,witnessing strong deformation due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian *** the subsurface velocity structure of this region is thus important in understanding the tectonics and geodynamic processes of continental collision and in mitigating seismic *** studies have provided various 3d seismic velocity models in southwest ***,discrepancies exist among these models,and less effort has been made to quantify the reliability and accuracy of these existing velocity *** this study,we use regional 3d waveform simulation to evaluate the performance of various regional crustal 3d velocity models in reproducing observed *** particularly focus on two recent earthquake sequence in the region,the 2021 Yunnan Yangbi MS_(6.4) earthquake sequence and the 2022 Sichuan Luding MS_(6.8) earthquake *** tested 3d velocity models include the Southwest China Community Velocity model V1.0,the Unified Seismic Tomography Models for Continental China Lithosphere V2.0,the adjoint full waveform tomography model of the crustal and upper mantle beneath Eastern Tibetan Plateau,and the shallow seismic structure model beneath continental *** results show that the tested 3d velocity models generally capture well long-period(dicating that the 3d models adequately resolve overall large-scale subsurface ***,the 3d synthetics show discrepancies in higher frequencies(0.05–0.3 Hz)and the performance of the 3d velocity models varies from region to region,suggesting that smaller scale heterogeneities are not well *** shallow velocity structures(del shows a slighter better performance than the other models,especially for the body-waves,highlighting the advantages

Mercury(Hg)enrichments in ancient sediments have been used as a proxy of volcanism,especially large igneous province(LIP)***,considering the existence of other potential Hg sources besides volcanoes and the diverse factors(e.g.,organic matters,clay minerals,sulfide minerals and Fe oxides)that can affect Hg sequestration,there are considerable uncertainties to simply regard sedimentary Hg anomalies as signatures of volcanic *** stable isotopes,a promising tool for tracing the origins and transformations of Hg,have been increasingly used for determining the causes of Hg spikes and understanding the geochemical behavior of Hg in the geologic *** date,lots of researches have applied Hg concentrations and Hg isotopes to identify LIP volcanisms linking with significant geological events such as mass extinctions,ocean anoxic events and other environmental perturbations that mainly occurred in the ***,the results in previous studies clearly show that not all Hg enrichments are derived from volcanic inputs,which emphasize the need for more caution in using Hg as a fingerprint of *** a better understanding of Hg isotopes in the future,there will be important implications for Hg isotopes to reconstruct volcanic activities in the rock records and their impacts on biological evolution.

Compared with electrical neural networks,optical neural networks(ONNs)have the potentials to break the limit of the bandwidth and reduce the consumption of energy,and therefore draw much attention in recent *** far,several types of ONNs have been ***,the current ONNs cannot realize the acceleration as powerful as that indicated by the models like quantum neural *** to construct and realize an ONN with the quantum speedup is a huge ***,we propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally a new type of optical convolutional neural network by introducing the optical *** is called the correlated optical convolutional neural network(COCNN).We show that the COCNN can exhibit“quantum speedup”in the training *** character is verified from the two *** is the direct illustration of the faster convergence by comparing the loss function curves of the COCNN with that of the traditional convolutional neural network(CNN).Such a result is compatible with the training performance of the recently proposed quantum convolutional neural network(QCNN).The other is the demonstration of the COCNN’s capability to perform the QCNN phase recognition circuit,validating the connection between the COCNN and the ***,we take the COCNN analog to the 3-qubit QCNN phase recognition circuit as an example and perform an experiment to show the soundness and the feasibility of *** results perfectly match the theoretical *** proposal opens up a new avenue for realizing the ONNs with the quantum speedup,which will benefit the information processing in the era of big data.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs) hold great promise as a viable alternative to lithium-ion batteries owing to their high energy density and environmental ***,AZIBs are consistently plagued by the formation of zinc dendrites and concurrent side reactions,which significantly diminish their overall service life,In this study,the glass fiber separator(GF) is modified using zeolite imidazole salt framework-8(ZIF-8),enabling the development of efficient ***-8,which is abundant in nitrogen content,efficiently regulates the desolvation of [Zn(H_(2)O)_(6)]^(2+) to inhibit hydrogen ***,it possesses abundant nanochannels that facilitate the uniform deposition of Zn~(2+) via a localized action,thereby hindering the formation of *** insulating properties of ZIF-8 help prevent Zn^(2+) and water from trapping electron reduction at the layer surface,which reduces corrosion of the zinc ***,ZIF-8-GF achieves the even transport of Zn^(2+) and regulates the homogeneous deposition along the Zn(002) crystal surface,thus significantly enhancing the electrochemical performance of the AZIBs,In particular,the Zn|Zn symmetric cell with the ZIF-8-GF separator delivers a stable cycle life at0.5 mA cm^(-2) of 2300 *** Zn|ZIF-8-GF|MnO_(2) cell exhibits reduced voltage polarization while maintaining a capacity retention rate(93.4%) after 1200 cycles at 1.2 A g^(-1) The unique design of the modified diaphragm provides a new approach to realizing high-performance AZIBs.

Three-dimensional(3d)swirling flow structures,generated by a counter-rotating dualstage swirler in a confined chamber with a confinement ratio of 1.53,were experimentally investigated at Re=2.3×10^(5)using Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry(Tomo-PIV)and planar Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV).Based on the analysis of the 3d time-averaged swirling flow structures and 3d Proper Orthogonal decomposition(POd)of the Tomo-PIV data,typical coherent flow structures,including the Corner Recirculation Zone(CRZ),Central Recirculation Zone(CTRZ),and Lip Recirculation Zone(LRZ),were *** counter-rotating dual-stage swirler with a Venturi flare generates the independence process of vortex breakdown from the main stage and pilot stage,leading to the formation of an LRZ and a smaller CTRZ near the nozzle *** confinement squeezes the CRZ to the corner and causes a reverse rotation flow to limit the shape of the CTRZ.A large-scale flow structure caused by the main stage features an explosive breakup,flapping,and Precessing Vortex Core(PVC).The explosive breakup mode dominates the swirling flow structures owing to the expansion and construction of the main jet,whereas the flapping mode is related to the wake *** limits the expansion of PVC and causes it to contract after the impacting area.

AIM： To determine which IIRC scheme was used by retinoblastoma centers worldwide and the percentage of d eyes treated primarily with enucleation versus globe salvaging therapies as well as to correlate trends in treatment choice to IIRC version used and geographic region. METHOdS： An anonymized electronic survey was offered to 115 physicians at 39 retinoblastoma centers worldwide asking about IIRC classification schemes and treatment patterns used between 2008 and 2012. Participants were asked to record which version of the IIRC was used for classification, how many group d eyes were diagnosed, and how many eyes were treated with enucleation versus globe salvaging therapies. Averages of eyes per treatment modality were calculated and stratified by both IIRC version and geographic region. Statistical significance was determined by Chi-square, ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis tests using Prism. RESULTS： The survey was completed by 29% of physicians invited to participate. Totally 1807 d eyes were diagnosed. Regarding IIRC system, 27% of centers used the Children＇s Hospital of Los Angeles （CHLA） version, 33% used the Children＇s Oncology Group （COG） version, 23% used the Philadelphia version, and 17% were unsure. The rate for primary enucleation varied between 0 and 100% and the mean was 29%. By IIRC version, primary enucleation rates were： Philadelphia, 8%; COG, 34%; and CHLA, 37%. By geographic region, primary enucleation rates were： Latin America, 57%; Asia, 40%; Europe, 36%; Africa, 10%, US, 8%; and Middle East, 8%. However, systemic chemoreduction was used more often than enucleation in all regions except Latin America with a mean of 57% per center （P〈0.0001）. CONCLUSION： Worldwide there is no consensus on which IIRC version is used, systemic chemoreduction was the most frequently used initial treatment during the study period followed by enucleation and primary treatment modality, especially enucleation, varied greatly with regards to IIRC version used and geographic r
