Background:Tuberculosis(TB)remains a global health challenge and depression is a significant contributor to the global burden of *** evidence suggests that there is an association between depressive symptoms and TB,lower adherence to treatment,and increased morbidity and ***,there is paucity of data regarding these associations in *** study aimed to determine the prevalence and correlates of depression in adult patients with pulmonary TB(PTB)in the Southwest Region of ***:A hospital-based cross-sectional study involving 265 patients with PTB was conducted from 2nd January to 31st March 2015 in the Limbe Regional Hospital and the Kumba District *** was diagnosed using the standard nine-item Patient Health Questionnaire,and classified as none,mild or *** regressions were used to investigate correlates of depression in these ***:Of the 265 patients(mean age 36.9±10 years)studied,136(51.3%)were *** prevalence of depression was 61.1%(95%CI:55.1–66.8),with a significant proportion(36.6%)having mild *** logistic regression analysis showed that being female(aOR=3.0,95%CI(1.7–5.5),P0.05),being on retreatment for TB(aOR=11.2,95%CI:5.2–31.1,P<0.001),having discontinued treatment(aOR=8.2,95%CI:1.1–23.3,P<0.05)and having a HIV/TB co-infection(aOR=2.5,95%CI:1.2–6.5,P<0.001)were factors associated with having a higher chance of being ***:Our study suggests that there is a high prevalence of depression among PTB patients,with more than one in two patients *** care for TB patients involving mental health practitioners is highly encouraged,especially for high-risk groups.

A unique process of chemical oxidation polymerization of aniline using manganese dioxide (MnO2) as the oxidizing agent in an aqueous medium is described. The reaction between aniline and MnO2 follows a mechanism by which the organic monomer is oxidized while the metal oxide undergoes reductive dissolution. The effects of the amount of oxidizing agent and aniline, pH and temperature of the reactive system, type of acid on the yield and conductivity of polyaniline are discussed. The resulting polyaniline was characterized by IR and UV-Vis spectrometry. Polyaniline with a conductivity of 12.5 S/cm was obtained using 0.033 mol of aniline oxidized by 0.023 mol MnO2 in the presence of 100 mL of 2.7 mol/L HCl at 25degreesC for 4 h.

In 2006, SOMAIR decided to increase the uranium production by 50% using heap leaching for the treatment of low grade ores. These ores, which come from different lodes with various properties, have been studied in four steps：（ 1 ） Lab tests： to compare the ores （characterization, acid consumptions, recovery...）; （2） Column tests on an average sample： to define significant parameters for a feasibility study; （3） Column tests on specific samples： to optimize recovery for each ore and identify problems of percolation due to the clays; （4） Pilot tests in large boxes （stalls）： to validate process parameters. Uranium production by heap leaching started in July 2009.

Objective:To assess the prevalence of parasitic infections among patients attending Saint Camille Medical Centre and to estimate co-parasitic infections ***:From January to December 2009,stool samples were collected from 11 728 persons,aged from five months to 72 years and suffering from *** macroscopic description,the stools were examined by light microscopy to search for the presence of ***:From the 11 728 analyzed stools,6 154(52.47%) were infected with at least one *** frequently encountered were:Giardia intestinalis(43.47%),Entamoeba histolytica/Entamoeba dispar(30.74%) and Trichomonas irUestinalis(21.72%),while Hymenolepis nana(2.25%) was the most common ***-infections occurred in 22.34%*** the multi-infected samples,dual and triple infections accounted for 71.18%and 20.00%,*** irUestinalis for protozoan and Hymenolepis nana for helminths were the most implicated ***: This study confirms that intestinal parasites are still a public health problem in Burkina *** reduce the incidence of parasitic infections,it is necessary to promote the education of people so that they practice the rules of individual and collective hygiene.
