Although standard oxygen face masks are first-line therapy for patients with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure,high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy has gained major popularity in intensive care *** physiological effects of high-flow oxygen counterbalance the physiological consequences of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure by lessening the deleterious effects of intense and prolonged inspiratory efforts generated by *** simplicity of application for physicians and nurses and its comfort for patients are other arguments for its use in this *** clinical studies have reported a decreased risk of intubation with high-flow oxygen compared with standard oxygen,its survival benefit is uncertain.A more precise definition of acute hypoxemic respiratory failure,including a classification of severity based on oxygenation levels,is needed to better compare the efficiencies of different non-invasive oxygenation support methods(standard oxygen,high-flow oxygen,and non-invasive ventilation).Additionally,the respective role of each non-invasive oxygenation support method needs to be established through further clinical trials in acute hypoxemic respiratory failure,especially in severe forms.

This study focuses on the illumination and temperature at China’s next lunar candidate landing site Shackleton *** used the NASA’s SPICE system to evaluate the terrain obscuration effect on real-time illumination;the resulting illumination map resembles previous studies,validating the methodologies used in our *** addition,we estimated an accumulated illumination map for the period of likely rover *** map indicates the illuminated inner wall of the Shackleton crater is close to 27%of the whole,meaning that the rover will likely receive solar radiation during its *** the real-time illumination and the distributed 1-D thermal diffusion model,we continuously evaluated the regolith temperature for more than 20 years to stabilize the temperature,and selected the temperature of the end time as the initial value used in a thermal study set for July 20,2023 and May 8,*** results indicate the temperature in the permanent shadow region remains nearly constant,thus validating the stability of our estimated initial *** results also indicate that the surface temperature is more sensitive to transient illumination,but the subsurface temperature is more likely to be associated with the accumulated *** difference indirectly implies that the conductivity of the lunar regolith is *** locations receiving more solar radiation show a temperature larger than the threshold(~112 K)of ice *** permanently shadowed regions can be as cold as 25 K,and such extreme coldness is a hazard to the *** are suitable temperature locations which have a warm surface but cold subsurface to preserve water *** further ensure normal rover movement,we provided a map of suitable temperature sites and found that these locations exist not only in the Shackleton crater’s inner wall,but also outside the *** suggested four trade-off sampling sites with suitable temperatures and gradual slopes.

The West African Monsoon (WAM) is characterized by strong decadal and multi-decadal variability and the impacts can be catastrophic for the local populations. One of the factors put forward to explain this variability involves the role of atmospheric dynamics, linked in particular to the Saharan Heat Low (SHL). This article addresses this question by comparing the sets of preindustrial control and historical simulation data from climate models carried out in the framework of the CMIP5 project and observations data over the 20th century. Through multivariate statistical analyses, it was established that decadal modes of ocean variability and decadal variability of Saharan atmospheric dynamics significantly influence decadal variability of monsoon precipitation. These results also suggest the existence of external anthropogenic forcing, which is superimposed on the decadal natural variability inducing an intensification of the signal in the historical simulations compared to preindustrial control simulations. We have also shown that decadal rainfall variability in the Sahel, once the influence of oceanic modes has been eliminated, appears to be driven mainly by the activity of the Arabian Heat Low (AHL) in the central Sahel, and by the structure of the meridional temperature gradient over the inter-tropical Atlantic in the western Sahel.

The power and voltage levels of renewable energy resources is growing with the evolution of the power electronics and switching module *** that,the need for the development of a compact and highly efficient solid-state transformer is becoming a critical task in-order to integrate the current AC grid with the new renewable energy *** objective of this paper is to present the design,implementation,and testing of a compact multi-port solid-state transformer for microgrid integration *** proposed system has a four-port transformer and four converters connected to the *** transformer has four windings integrated on a single common ***,it can integrate different renewable energy resources and energy storage *** port has a rated power of 25 kW,and the switching frequency is pushed to 50 k *** ports are chosen to represent a realistic industrial microgrid model consisting of grid,energy storage system,photovoltaic system,and *** grid port is designed to operate at 4.16 k VAC corresponding to 7.2 kV DC bus voltage,while the other three ports operate at 500 ***,the grid,energy storage and photovoltaic ports are active ports with dual active bridge topologies,while the load port is a passive port with full bridge rectifier *** proposed design is first validated with simulation results,and then the proposed transformer is implemented and *** results show that the designed system is suitable for 4.16 k VAC medium voltage grid integration.

The ideal crystalline framework of zeolites is perturbed by hydroxyl groups. In pure silica zeolites the framework is neutral, however, the introduction of Al3+into the Si4+oxide framework creates negative charges, giving rise to Br?nsted acid sites (BASs). Purpose: Diet and eating habits are major risk factors for the health and the development of disease, such as, for example, metabolic disorder leading to cardiovascular pathology and cancer, decreased immunity exposing to infections. This study of the physico-chemical and nutritional properties of a soumara-based food broth was carried out with the aim of promoting the consumption of organic broth made from nere seeds (soumara). That is to alleviate certain metabolic diseases, which is a matter of food safety, and also to limit the risk for the health about the consumption of some cooking stocks on the market. Methods: Several natural ingredients such as nere seeds (soumara), ginger, black pepper, parsley and garlic were used to create a nere-based stock. All these ingredients were freeze-dried and the powder obtained was used to make the broth, regarding their physical and chemical properties. Results: The broth had a good protein content of 17.41 ± 0.367 g/100g, a lipid content of 16.80 ± 0.08 g/100g and a fiber content of 8.66 ± 0.04 g/100g. In terms of nutritional values, the broth showed good levels of calcium 184.21 ± 0.09 mg/100g, potassium 50.04 ± 1.45 mg/100g and iron and zinc. In terms of antioxidant activity, the broth also showed good antioxidant activity. Conclusion: Regarding the properties of our food broth, whose composition is based on natural ingredients, could be recommended for consumption and, its properties, could play an important role in preventing and combating certain metabolic diseases.

The assessment of the impacts of converting natural wetlands to agricultural farms in Nyabugogo wetland was the main objective for this research. Considering the efficiency of agricultural activities management, operation and their maintenance in Kigali is essential to reduce the increasing environmental pollution, to raise production and to search for a sustainable method of environmental conservation, this research assesses the pollutant removal efficiency of agriculture such as crops and animal residues in order to enhance the sustainable agriculture development mainly physico-chemical characteristics and some biological characteristics and based on the preliminary assessment and review of existing literature on agriculture management systems for water resources and other environmental conservation concerns in Kigali, the research aims at contributing to the search of an appropriate agriculture management that is more efficient in terms of the increase in productivity, hence contributing to environmental sustainability. Six sampling sites were chosen in Nyabugogo wetland that is Nyabugogo, Karuruma, Kabuye (2 destinations), and Nyacyonga (2 destinations). Nyabugogo and Karuruma in the rural area, and Nyacyonga in the urban area, were chosen for the investigation of fecal coliforms. On the two first locations, Nyabugogo (80 cfu/100ml) and Karuruma (40 cfu/100ml), the study found low but not insignificant results. This is related to the dispersion of habitation in rural areas. Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) ranged from 178.1 mg/l to 179.9 mg/l at Site 1 (dry season) and subsequent test (rainy season) results ranged from 178 to 200 mg/l. The results showed different TDS in different test areas. The TDS was as low as 145.4 mg/l in the surface water of SP4 and as high as 179.9 mg/l in SP1, and in the second survey, the minimum value was 140.3 mg/l and the maximum value was 285 mg/l in SP3.
