Macroscale fluorescence imaging is increasingly used to observe biological ***,it may suffer from spectral interferences that originate from ambient light or autofluorescence of the sample or its *** this manuscript,we built a simple and inexpensive fluorescence macroscope,which has been used to evaluate the performance of Speed OpIOM(Out of phase Imaging after Optical Modulation),which is a reference-free dynamic contrast protocol,to selectively image reversibly photoswitchable fluorophores as labels against detrimental autofluorescence and ambient *** tuning the intensity and radial frequency of the modulated illumination to the Speed OpIOM resonance and adopting a phase-sensitive detection scheme that ensures noise rejection,we enhanced the sensitivity and the signal-to-noise ratio for fluorescence detection in blot assays by factors of 50 and 10,respectively,over direct fluorescence observation under constant ***,we overcame the strong autofluorescence of growth media that are currently used in microbiology and realized multiplexed fluorescence observation of colonies of spectrally similar fluorescent bacteria with a unique configuration of excitation and emission ***,we easily discriminated fluorescent labels from the autofluorescent and reflective background in labeled leaves,even under the interference of incident light at intensities that are comparable to *** proposed approach is expected to find multiple applications,from biological assays to outdoor observations,in fluorescence macroimaging.

the development of ultra-intense and ultra-short light sources is currently a subject of intense research driven by the discovery of novel phenomena in the realm of relativistic optics,such as the production of ultrafast energetic particle and radiation beams for *** has been a long-standing challenge to unite two hitherto distinct classes of light sources:those achieving relativistic intensity and those with pulse durations approaching a single light *** the former class traditionally involves large-scale amplification chains,the latter class places high demand on the spatiotemporal control of the electromagnetic laser ***,we present a light source producing waveformcontrolled 1.5-cycle pulses with a 719 nm central wavelength that can be focused to relativistic intensity at a 1 kHz repetition rate based on nonlinear post-compression in a long hollow-core *** unique capabilities of this source allow us to observe the first experimental indications of light waveform effects in laser wakefield acceleration of relativistic energy electrons.

At the intersection between treatment and diagnosis, nanoparticles technologies are strongly impacting the development of both therapeutic and diagnostic ***, the development of novel modalities for concomitant noninvasive therapy and diagnostics known as theranostics as a single platform has gained significant interests. these multifunctional theranostic platforms include carbon-based nanomaterials（e.g., carbon nanotubes）, drug conjugates, aliphatic polymers, micelles, vesicles, core-shell nanoparticles, microbubbles and dendrimers bearing different contrast agents and drugs, such as cytotoxic compounds in the oncology domain. Dendrimers emerged as a new class of highly tunable hyperbranched polymers, and have been developed as useful theranostic platforms. Magnetic resonance imaging, gamma scintigraphy, computed tomography and optical imaging are the main techniques developed with dendrimers in the theranostic domain in oncology. Different imaging agents have been used such as Gd（Ⅲ）,19F, Fe2O3（MRI）,76Br（pEt）,111In,88Y,153Gd,188Re,131I（SpECt）,177Lu,gold（Ct） and boronated groups, siliconnaphthalocyanines,dialkylcarbocyanines and QDs（optical imaging dyes）.

Background:Epilepsy is the most common neurological disease in the *** objective of the study was to determine the knowledge,attitude and practice of driver's license applicants and instructors in driving schools on epilepsy in Burkina ***:this cross-sectional study was carried out from January 7th to March 7th 2020 in 21 driving schools approved by the National Driver License Authority in the city of *** driver applicants and one instructor were selected in each driving school,resulting in a total of 315 driver applicants and 21 instructors in the ***:the mean age of participants was 29.91±7.63 *** of the driver applicants included in the study was once experienced a seizure *** respondents had heard of *** main source of epilepsy information was from family(42.5%).two hundred and twenty-six respondents(673%)had witnessed an epileptic seizure.A majority of participants(55.9%)believed that persons with epilepsy be not permitted to drive a motor *** 44.0% of participants thought that people with epilepsy should be permitted to drive under certain *** hundred and four(30.9%)participants suggested that people with epilepsy be permitted to drive a light *** hundred and forty-one(42.0%)suggest to withdraw the driving license for lifetime if a driver had an epileptic seizure attack;while twenty-three(6.8%)participants recommended suspension of driver license for 12 ***:Efforts should be made to improve awareness and education among license applicants and instructors on the driving by people with epilepsy.

Background In multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children(MIS-C),diagnostic delay could be associated with *** study aims to measure the time to diagnosis in MIS-C,assess its impact on the occurrence of cardiogenic shock,and specify its *** A single-center prospective cohort observational study was conducted between May 2020 and July 2022 at a tertiary care *** meeting the World Health Organization MIS-C criteria were included.A long time to diagnosis was defined as six days or *** on time to diagnosis were collected by two independent *** primary outcome was the occurrence of cardiogenic *** regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis were used for outcomes,and a Cox proportional hazards model was used for *** totally 60 children were assessed for inclusion,and 31 were finally analyzed[52%males,median age 8.8(5.7-10.7)years].the median time to diagnosis was 5.3(4.2-6.2)*** univariable analysis,age above the median,time to diagnosis,high C-reactive protein,and high N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide(Nt-proBNp)were associated with cardiogenic shock[odds ratio(OR)6.13(1.02-36.9),2.79(1.15-6.74),2.08(1.05-4.12),and 1.70(1.04-2.78),respectively].In multivariable analysis,time to diagnosis≥6 days was associated with cardiogenic shock[adjusted OR(aOR)21.2(1.98-227)].time to diagnosis≥6 days had a sensitivity of 89% and a specificity of 77% in predicting cardiogenic shock;the addition of age>8 years and Nt-proBNp at diagnosis≥11,254 ng/L increased the specificity to 91%.Independent determinants of short time to diagnosis were aget distance to tertiary care hospital[aHR 0.27(0.08-0.92)],and the late period of the COVID-19 pandemic[aHR 2.48(1.05-5.85)].Conclusions time to diagnosis≥6 days was independently associated with cardiogenic shock in *** diagnosis and treatment are crucial to avoid the use of inotropes and

Racecadotril Efficacy in the Symptomatic treatment of Adult Acute Diarrhoea: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

the efficacy of racecadotril (RC), an intestinal antisecretory drug acting via an enkephalinase inhibition, was reviewed in paediatric acute diarrhoea but not yet in adults. Objective: to estimate the effectiveness of RC in the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults. Data Sources: A systematic review of MedLine, Cochrane Controlled trials Register, DARE, and Embase (up to November 2013). Additional studies were identified by contacting clinical experts and the manufacturer. Study Selection and Appraisal: Randomized Controlled trials performed in adults suffering from acute diarrhoea using RC in one treatment arm. Independent extraction of articles using predefined data fields, and methodological quality measurement assessment. All randomised trials performed in adults suffering from acute diarrhoea with RC as the studied group. Statistics: the main efficacy endpoint was diarrhoea duration defined as time to recovery compared between groups by survival techniques and converted into hazard ratio (HR). We exclusively used a random-effect meta-analytic model. Constipation proportion was the main safety endpoint, evaluated between treatments by the Relative Risks (RR). Results: twelve randomised trials (2619 patients) met inclusion criteria. Duration of diarrhoea was much shorter in the RC group, the proportion of patients having recovered at any time of the treatment period was 65% higher in the RC group, compared with placebo (HR = 1.65 [1.38-1.97], p tion of diarrhoea was similar in the RC and loperamide groups (HR = 1.08 [0.95-1.22], p = 0.24, n = 1618). the proportions of constipated patients were similar in the RC and placebo groups 0.95 [0.24-3.68], p = 0.97), however, about 3 times more constipated patients were found in the loperamide group compared with the RC group (RR = 0.34 [0.22-0.51], p to placebo, RC is characterized by a clinically relevant earlier remission of diarrhoea. Gravity Interpretation of the Cameroon Mountain (West Central Africa) Based on the New and Existing Data

A new gravity survey of the Mount Cameroon area has enabled the definition of four major gravimetric do- mains, which coincide with the recognized structural units. In order to determine the nature of superficial and deep structures in this mountainous zone, new gravity data have been processed. these new gravity data was integrated to existing gravity data to propose the new complete Bouguer anomaly map of the region, and then to show major characteristics of the Bouguer gravity of this area. the interpretation of gravity patterns (bouguer maps) in terms of geological data, shows that the Mount Cameroon zone belongs to a wide positive anomaly;these anomalies display complex gravity domains, which seem to be similar to that due to major structural units in the region and volcanic activity of the mountain. In the mountain active zone in particular (between 2000 and 3800 m of altitude), the new anomalies map shows high gravity anomalies (from 11 to 60 mgal), coupled with low gravity at some stations (in the summit, 4060 m) where gravity anomaly is about –30 mgal. the steep WNW-ESE gravity gradients observed on the gravity maps mark the transition between positive in the south and negative anomalies.

Racecadotril in the treatment of Acute Diarrhoea in Adults. An Individual patient Data Based Meta-Analysis

Racecadotril is an antidiarrhoeal drug with a pure intestinal antisecretory mechanism of action. Aim: to assess racecadotril efficacy, whatever its dose, versus placebo in adult acute diarrhoea. Methods: Individual patient Data meta-analysis following multilevel mixed models testing of the significance of the treatment effect adjusted for baseline covariates. Diarrhoea duration was the common main criteria. Results: Four randomized clinical trials (n = 669) were identified with raw data. the clinical global impression evaluated at baseline by the physician was found to be the essential predictor influencing the outcome. As compared to placebo, the 100 mg dose, the minimum effective dose, induced a 80% increase of the recovered patient proportion at anytime (Hazard Ratio = 1.8 [1.3, 2.5], p the responder proportion i.e. recovery within 3 days (p tion of abdominal pain and nausea and an overall 33% decrease of sick days (p pared to placebo, racecadotril induced several significant effects, such as reducing the diarrhoea duration, the number of stools and associated symptoms, leading to less lost productivity.
