Chemically Modified Sugarcane Bagasse for Innovative Bio-Composites. Part One: Production and Physico-Mechanical Properties

Sugarcane bagasse is an agro-waste that could replace timber resources for the production of *** boards such as particleboard offer an issue for the use and recycling of poor quality timber,and these engineered products can overcome some solid wood limitations such as heterogeneity and *** offers an alternative to wood chips for particleboard production but present some disadvantages as well,such as poor physico-mechanical *** address these issues,bagassefibers were treated with an innovative natural resin formulated with tannin and *** particles with different concentrations of resin(5%,10%,and 15%m/m)were exposed to temperatures of 40℃,60℃,80℃,and 100℃ for resin *** types of tannin-based adhesives,including tannin formaldehyde,tannin/formaldehyde-furfural,and tannin hex-amine,were utilized for bonding the treated bagasse *** resultant panels were assessed for their physical and mechanical properties and compared to those produced using Melamine-Urea-Formaldehyde(MUF)*** density of the panels varied from 650 to 730 kg/m^(3) depending on the resin *** values for both modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture increased as the resin concentration *** internal bonding values exhibited an increase with resin concentration up to a critical point,after which a decreasing trend was *** water absorption and thickness swelling were significantly reduced with an increase in resin ***,the panels produced using MUF adhesive yielded the most favorable physico-mechanical ***,the panels made with tannin-based adhesives met the minimum requirements specified in the standard EN 312(specifications for uncoated resin-bonded particleboards)for application in dry *** analysis of formaldehyde emissions indicated that panels produced with tannin-based adhesives exhib-ited significantly lower emissions compared to

Deciphering breast cancer treatment resistance remains hindered by the lack of models that can successfully capture the four-dimensional dynamics of the tumor ***,we show that microextrusion bioprinting can reproducibly generate distinct cancer and stromal compartments integrating cells relevant to human *** findings unveil the functional maturation of this millimeter-sized model,showcasing the development of a hypoxic cancer core and an increased surface *** was also driven by the presence of cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAF)that induced elevated microvascular-like structures *** modulation was concomitant to extracellular matrix remodeling,with high levels of collagen and matricellular proteins deposition by CAF,simultaneously increasing tumor stiffness and recapitulating breast cancer fibrotic ***,our bioprinted model faithfully reproduced response to treatment,further modulated by ***,CAF played a protective role for cancer cells against radiotherapy,facilitating increased paracrine *** model holds promise as a platform to decipher interactions within the microenvironment and evaluate stroma-targeted drugs in a context relevant to human pathology.

In this paper, we are interested in looking for Hopf bifurcation solutions for mathematical model of plasma glucose and insulin during physical activity. The mathematical model is governed by a system of delay differential equations. The algorithm for determining the critical delays that are appropriate for Hopf bifurcation is used. The illustrative example is taken for a 30 years old woman who practices regular three types of physical activity: walking, jogging and running fast.

Lessons from “real life experience” of rifaximin use in the management of recurrent hepatic encephalopathy

Infections with Salmonella enterica belong to the most prominent causes of food poisoning and infected fruits and vegetables represent important vectors for salmonellosis. Recent evidence indicates that plants recognize S. enterica and raise defense responses. Nonetheless, the molecular mechanisms controlling the interaction of S. enterica with plants are still largely unclear. Here, we show that flagellin from S. enterica represents a prominent pathogenassociated molecular pattern （PAMP） in Arabidopsis thaliana, which induces PAMP-triggered immunity （PTI） via the recognition of the fig22 domain by the receptor kinase FLS2. The Arabidopsis fls2 mutant shows reduced though not abolished PTI activation, indicating that plants rely also on recognition of other S. enterica PAMPs. Interestingly, the S. enterica type III secretion system （T3SS） mutant prgH- induced stronger defense gene expression than wild-type bacteria in Arabidopsis, suggesting that T3SS effectors are involved in defense suppression. Furthermore, we observe that S. enterica strains show variation in the fig22 epitope, which results in proteins with reduced PTI-inducing activity. Altogether, these results show that S. enterica activates PTI in Arabidopsis and suggest that, in order to accomplish plant colonization, S. enterica evolved strategies to avoid or suppress PTI.
