Study of Copper Thin Films Resistivity by Using Van der Pauw Method at Low Frequencies

The objective of this work research is the use of four-point measurements and so-called Van der Pauw methods in measuring the resistivity of copper thin films widely used in the manufacture of planar components such as inductor and others. Aligned configuration and square configuration are commonly used to measure thin films resistivity before use. But differences in values between the two configurations according to frequency and thickness were observed according to the authors. Measurements with both configurations on the same thin films must make it possible to know measurements evolution as a function of frequency and thickness. The observation of measuring frequency ranges of each configuration and the minimum thicknesses to have solid copper resistivity are the main contributions of the paper. This electrical characterization is carried out on copper thin films deposited on alumina substrates (50 mm × 20 mm × 635 μm) using RF sputtering technique. Copper thin films with various thicknesses (3.3 μm, 3.6 μm and 5.2 μm) were characterized. Low-frequency electrical characterization of these thin films was performed by four-point measurement method and using an HP 4284A type LCRmeter over the frequency range of 20 Hz to 1 MHz. Van der Pauw’s method was used to calculate resistivity. These studies allowed us to know influence of measurement configurations and influence of parameters such as frequency and thickness of the copper thin films on resistivity.

In the present review, we first summarize the main benefits, limitations and pitfalls of conventional in vivo approaches to assessing male reproductive structures and functions in rodents in cases of endocrine active substance （EAS） exposure from the postulate that they may provide data that can be extrapolated to humans. Then, we briefly present some integrated approaches in rodents we have recently developed at the organism level. We particularly focus on the possible effects and modes of action （MOA） of these substances at low doses and in mixtures, real-life conditions and at the organ level, deciphering the precise effects and MOA on the fetal testis. It can be considered that the in vivo experimental EAS exposure of rodents remains the first choice for studies and is a necessary tool （together with the epidemiological approach） for understanding the reproductive effects and MOA of EASs, provided the pitfalls and limitations of the rodent models are known and considered. We also provide some evidence that classical rodent models may be refined for studying the multiple consequences of EAS exposure, not only on the reproductive axis but also on various hormonally regulated organs and tissues, among which several are implicated in the complex process of mammalian reproduction. Such models constitute an interesting way of approaching human exposure conditions. Finally, we show that organotypic culture models are powerful complementary tools, especially when focusing on the MOA. All these approaches have contributed in a combinatorial manner to a better understanding of the impact of EAS exposure on human reproduction.

Hydrogeochemical Characterization of Groundwater from Fissured Aquifers in the Angovia Mine Operating Permit Area (Central-West Côte d’Ivoire)

The main objective of this study is to determine the hydrogeochemical specificities of the groundwater of the Angovia mine operating permit, located in the Yaouré mountains in the center-west of Côte d’Ivoire. To do so, descriptive and multivariate statistical analysis methods with the SOM (Self Organizing Maps) algorithm were applied to the physicochemical parameters of 17 boreholes using the calcite (ISC) and dolomite (ISd) saturation indices. The results obtained have shown that the groundwater in the Angovia mine operating permit area has an average temperature of 27.52°C (long rainy season) and 27.87°C (long dry season) and has an average pH of 7.09 ± 0.35 during the main rainy season and 7.32 ± 0.35 during the main dry season. They are mineralized with an average electrical conductivity of 505.98 ± 302.85 μS/cm during the long rainy season and with 450.33 ± 233.74 μS/cm as average during the long dry season. The main phenomena at the origin of groundwater mineralization are water residence time, oxidation-reduction and surface inflow. The study of the relative age of the water shows that the groundwater in the Angovia mine operating permit area is mainly undersaturated with respect to calcite and dolomite. They are therefore very old in the aquifer with a slow circulation speed during the long rainy season and the long dry season.

The Radon transform fits badly Single Photon Emission Tomography (SPECT). However, Thin Holes Collimator (THC) and Radon model are widely used. The CACAO project has been proposed to enhance the quality of SPECT images. CACAO is a short hand notation for computer aided collimation tomography. The main idea of this project is to use collimators with much larger holes to increase the sensitivity, and slightly longer holes to increase the spatial resolution. The acquisition sequence includes a translation. The Radon projection is replaced by a 2d sum. A dedicated reconstruction algorithm has been developed. If the physical advantage of the project in terms of sensitivity and spatial resolution is generally admitted, a question remains unanswered: Would the ill-posedness of the inverse problem ruin the quality of the reconstructed images? In this article, a representation of the 2d direct problem matrix is derived. This allows us to compare the two inverse problems (CACAO versus THC). The condition number was used for this comparison. We studied the variation of these condition numbers with several parameters. For a proper set of parameters, the CACAO inverse problem may appear easier to solve and more accurately than the THC one.

Background:Populations of French Polynesia(FP),where France performed atmospheric tests between 1966 and 1974,experience a high incidence of differentiated thyroid cancer(dTC).However,up to now,no sufficiently large study of dTC genetic factors in this population has been performed to reach definitive *** research aimed to analyze the genetic factors of dTC risk among the native FP ***:We analyzed more than 300000 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)genotyped in 283 dTC cases and 418 matched controls born in FP,most being younger than 15 years old at the time of the first nuclear *** analyzed the genetic profile of our cohort to identify population *** then completed a genome-wide analysis study on the whole ***:We identified a specific genetic structure in the FP population reflecting admixture from Asian and European *** identified three regions associated with increased dTC risk at 6q24.3,10p12.2,and *** lead SNPs at these loci showed respective p-values of 1.66×10^(−7),2.39×10^(−7),and 7.19×10^(−7) and corresponding odds ratios of 2.02,1.89,and ***:Our study results suggest a role of the loci 6q24.3,10p12.2 and 17q21.32 in dTC ***,a whole genome sequencing approach would be better suited to characterize these factors than genotyping with microarray chip designed for the Caucasian ***,the functional impact of these three new loci needs to be further explored and validated.

The effects of aging treatment on the microstructures and mechanical properties of extruded AM50+xCa alloys （x=0,1%,2% in mass fraction） were studied. The results indicated the secondary phase Mg 17 Al 12 precipitated from the saturated α-Mg solid solution while Al2Ca changed slightly when the aging time was increased. The hardness of extruded AM50+xCa alloys increased initially to its peak,and then dropped to reach its original hardness with the increase in aging time. With the increase in aging temperature,the hardness of the AM50+2Ca alloy decreased,whereas the hardness of AM50 and AM50+1Ca alloys decreased in the initial stages of aging treatment and increased in the later stages of aging treatment. The tensile strengths of AM50 and AM50+1Ca alloys increased after aging treatment for the precipitation of Mg 17 Al 12 phase,which increases the resistance against dislocation movement at the grain boundary; with increase in aging temperature,their tensile strengths increased. For AM50+2Ca alloy,the tensile strength declined after aging at 150?℃ and 175?℃,while it increased slightly at 200?℃. The ductility of AM50+xCa alloys （x=0,1%,2%） declined after aging treatment.

AIM： TO study the implication of prokineticin 1 （PKI/EGVEGF） and prokineticin 2 （PK2/13v8） in hepatocellular carcinoma angiogenesis.METHOdS： The gene induction of PK1/EG-VEGF and PK2/Bv8 was investigated in 10 normal, 28 fibrotic and 28 tumoral livers by using real time PCR. Their expression was compared to the expression of VEGF （an angiogenesis marker）, vWF （an endothelial cell marker） and to Cd68 （a monocyte/macrophage marker）. Furthermore, the rnRNA levels of PK1/EG-VEGF, PK2/Bv8, prokineticin receptor 1 and 2 were evaluated by real time PCR in isolated liver cell populations. Finally, PK2/Bv8 protein was detected in normal liver paraffin sections and in isolated liver cells by immunohistochernistry and immunocytochemistry.RESULTS： PK2/Bv8 mRNA but not PK1/EG-VEGF was expressed in all types of normal liver samples examined. In the context of liver tumor development, we reported that PK2/13v8 correlates only with Cd68 and showed a significant decrease in expression as the pathology evolves towards cancer. Whereas, VEGF and vWF mRNA were significantly upregulated in both fibrosis and HCC,as expected. In addition, out of all isolated liver cells examined, only Kupffer cells （liver resident macrophages） express significant levels of PK2/Bv8 and its receptors, prokineticin receptor 1 and 2.CONCLUSION： In normal liver PK2/Bv8 and its receptors were specifically expressed by Kupffer cells. PK2/Bv8 expression decreased as the liver evolves towards cancer and did not correlate with HCC angiogenesis.

In this work, by the use of several physico-chemical complementary methods for the characterization of soil (diffraction of x-rays, chemical analysis, density, cationic exchange capacity, specific sur faces, m?ssbauer, granulometry, etc.), the smectite of the three clayey localities of Benin (Gbédji-Kotovi, Massi-Sèhouè and Zogbodomey) was notably studied. Thus, these three sites principally contain principally smectite, kaolinite and quartz in variable proportion. This smectite is a beidellite. Its chemical formula is proposed. The specific surfaces and the cationic exchange capacity of the samples are determined. For these samples, the fraction lower than 2 μm is practically beidellitic for Gbédji-Kotovi and Massi-Sèhouè (more than 82% of beidellite) and practically kaolinitic (70% of kaolinite) for Zogbodomey. So, used as additive food to ruminant, the clay of Gbédji-Kotovi and Massi-Sèhouè will induce an enteric reduction of methane more than clay of Zogbodomey.
