Value of intravascular ultrasound imaging in following up patients with replacement of the ascending aorta for acute type A aortic dissection

The mechanisms underlying the immunomodulatory functions of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) on differentiation of dendritic cells (DC) have been shown to involve soluble factors and/or cell-cell *** this study,we intent to clarify these mechanisms by examining the immunosuppressive effect of human adult MSC on adult DC differentiated from CD34+ hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC).MSC have been shown to inhibit interstitial DC differentiation from monocytes and umbilical CD34+***,we confirm that MSC not only halt interstitial DC but also Langerhans cell differentiation from adult CD34+HPC,as assessed by the decreased expression of CDla,CD14,CD86,CDS0 and CD83 antigens on their cell surface. Accordingly,the functional capacity of these cells (MSC-DC) to stimulate alloreactive T cells was *** coculture of MSC with CD34+HPC resulted in much stronger immunosuppressive effect than either conditioned medium or indirect coculture,and led to an activation of the Notch pathway as assessed by the overexpression of Hes1 in ***,a gamma-secretase inhibitor that inhibits NOTCH signaling was able to overcome MSC-DC *** conclusion,our data suggest that MSC inhibit adult CD34+HPC to differentiate into DC through activation of the NOTCH pathway.

Background The value of intravascular ultrasound （IVUS） imaging in patients with replacement of the ascending aorta for acute type A aortic dissection （AD） is unknown. The purpose of this study was to assess the potential use of IVUS imaging in this setting. Methods From September 2002 to July 2005, IVUS imaging with a 9 MHz probe was performed in a series of 16 consecutive patients with suspected or established AD. This study focused on 5 of them with replacement of the ascending aorta for acute type A AD. Among these 5 patients, other imaging modalities including aortography, spiral computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and transesophageal echocardiography were performed in 5, 3, 3 and 1 patients, respectively. Results There were no complications related to IVUS imaging. For the replaced graft, as other imaging modalities, IVUS could identify all 5 grafts, the proximal and the distal anastomoses, and the ostia of the reimplanted coronary arteries. In 2 cases, IVUS detected 2 peri-graft pseudo-aneurysms （1 per case）, which were also detected by magnetic resonance imaging but omitted by aortography. For the residual dissection, IVUS had similar findings as other imaging modalities in detecting the patency （5/5）, the longitudinal and the circumferential extent, the thrombus （4/5）, the recurrent dissection （1/5） and an aneurysm distal to the graft （5 in 4 patients）. However, it detected more intimal tears and side branch involvements than other imaging modalities （15 vs 10 and 3 vs 1, respectively）. Conclusions In following-up patients with replacement of the ascending aorta for acute type A AD, IVUS imaging can provide complete information of the replaced graft and the residual dissection. So, IVUS imaging may be considered when the four current frequently used imaging modalities can not supply sufficient information or there are some discrepancies between them.

Background: Bone marrow lesions (BMLs) are associated with osteoarthritis (OA). We assessed the performance of two commonly used MRI sequences, IW-TSE and DESS, for reliability in the detection of BMLs and sensitivity to estimate change over time. We suggested that the IW-TSE would demonstrate higher sensitivity to change than DESS in the assessment of BML prevalence and change over time. This study was performed using a subset of the Osteoarthritis Initiative (OAI) cohort. Methods: A sub-group of 144 patients was selected from the OAI progression cohort who all had IW-TSE and DESS MRI acquisitions at baseline and 24 months. BMLs were assessed using a semi-quantitative scale in the global knee, medial and lateral compartments, and subregions. Intra-reader reliability was assessed on a subset of 51 patients. Results: Intra-reader reliability was substantial for the global knee ≥ 0.64, medial ≥ 0.70, and lateral ≥ 0.63 compartments for IW-TSE and DESS. The prevalence of BML detected at baseline was only slightly greater for IW-TSE compared to DESS. The mean BML score at baseline was significantly higher (p ≤ 0.006) for the IW-TSE than the DESS. However, mean change at 24 months was similar for both sequences for all regions except the medial compartment (p = 0.034) and medial femur (p = 0.015) where they were significantly higher for DESS than IW-TSE. Moreover, the prevalence of BML change at 24 months was similar in all regions except the global knee (p = 0.047) and the lateral tibial plateau (p = 0.031). Conclusion: This study does not suggest superior sensitivity to change of one sequence over the other for almost all the regions. The only difference is a higher BML mean change over time detected by the DESS sequence in the medial compartment and femur. These data bring into perspective that both sequences seem equivalent regarding their use for the assessment of BML in clinical trials.

现代嵌入式系统正在向使用多核或多处理器进行并行处理的方向发展.针对并行嵌入式系统中具有通信竞争情况下的任务调度问题,文中提出3项高级技术以提高列表调度方法的性能.首先使用5组(已存在的两组和新提出的3组)节点等级作为节点优先权来生成节点列表;然后使用关键子节点技术来改善调度过程中处理器的选择;最后使用通信延迟技术扩大通信连接线上的空闲时间区间.文中还给出了组合使用这3项技术的高级动态列表调度方法.实验结果表明,在中等通信代价和高通信代价的情况下,组合高级动态方法能够有效地缩短调度长度,可以在通信代价很高时通过优化使用硬件资源使调度结果加速高达80%.

Free Radical-Scavenging Properties and Antioxidant Activity of Fractions from Cranberry Products

Lipid peroxidation inhibition capacity and antiradical activity were evaluated in HPLC fractions of different polarity obtained from two cranberry juices and three extracts isolated from frozen cranberries and pomace containing antho-cyanins, water-soluble and apolar phenolic compounds, respectively. Compounds with close polarities were collected to obtain between three and four fractions from each juice or extract. The cranberry phenols are good free radi-cal-scavengers, but they were less efficient at inhibiting the lipid peroxidation. Of all the samples tested, the intermediate polarity fraction of extract rich in apolar phenolic compounds of fruit presented the highest antiradical activity while the most hydrophobic fractions of the anthocyanin-rich extract from fruit and pomace appeared to be the most efficient at inhibiting the lipid peroxidation. The antioxidant or pro-oxidant activity of fractions increased with the con-centration. The phenol polarity and the technological process to manufacture cranberry juice can influence the antioxidant and antiradical activities of fractions.

In this work,we demonstrate that ultraviolet(UV)laser photolysis of hydrocarbon species alters the flame chemistry such that it promotes the diamond growth rate and film *** emission spectroscopy and laser-induced fluorescence demonstrate that direct UV laser irradiation of a diamond-forming combustion flame produces a large amount of reactive species that play critical roles in diamond growth,thereby leading to enhanced diamond *** diamond growth rate is more than doubled,and diamond quality is improved by 4.2%.Investigation of the diamond nucleation process suggests that the diamond nucleation time is significantly shortened and nondiamond carbon accumulation is greatly suppressed with UV laser irradiation of the combustion flame in a laser-parallel-to-substrate geometry.A narrow amorphous carbon transition zone,averaging 4 nm in thickness,is identified at the film–substrate interface area using transmission electron microscopy,confirming the suppression effect of UV laser irradiation on nondiamond carbon *** discovery of the advantages of UV photochemistry in diamond growth is of great significance for vastly improving the synthesis of a broad range of technically important materials.

With the increasing demand for high speed reliable communications, smart antennas, such as the Butler Matrix array, can be used to develop a system that increases the performance of a wireless system. The Butler matrix is a switched beam array system which can produce orthogonal uniform beams. The main objective is to improve the efficiency of the power in a 90-degree bend. Also, the double-mitered bend is particularly interesting since it provides a substantially lower reflection coefficient and a lower value of S12 at a frequency of 2.4 GHz compared to an unmitered one. Therefore, this paper describes an optimum design using a double-mitered method with a 2 × 2 and a 4 × 4 Butler Matrix array, operating at 2.4 GHz which is used in wireless systems with an FR4 substrate.

目的采用心肌内注射方法将骨髓间充质干细胞(BMSCs)植入到正常或慢性梗死心肌中后, 研究短期内植入细胞的分布和可利用度。方法采用选择性冠状动脉结扎方法建立大鼠慢性心肌梗死模型( n =9) 。1个月后, 采用心肌内注射方法将 111 铟 - 羟基喹啉 ( 111Indium- oxine, 111In) 同位素标记的自体 BMSCs (2×106/50μL)植入到慢性梗死心肌和正常对照心肌中( n =6) 。采用序列平面针孔闪烁扫描方法测定 BMSCs移植后 2 h、1 d、3 d、7 d 时的心肌 111In 的放射活性, 并计算植入细胞在心肌内的驻留率。于细胞移植术后第 7 天切取制备心脏横断面冷冻切片, 进行组织放射微成像(Micro- imaging)和组织病理学分析, 观察植入细胞在心肌内的分布情况。结果慢性心肌梗死(MI)组的心肌 111In 的放射活性在所有测定的时间点均显著高于正常对照组(P<0.01)。心肌放射强度实测值在经由各相应时间点 BMSCs细胞 111In 的自发泄漏率的体外标定值校正后, 计算得出植入的 BMSCs 细胞在慢性梗死心肌(MI 组)中的驻留率平均为 60%, 而在正常对照组心肌中细胞的驻留率只有 25%(P <0.01), 并在 7 d 的随访期中保持稳定。组织放射微成像和组织病理学分析都证实植入的 BMSCs 主要分布于由注射针头插入损伤或慢性心肌梗死所造成的纤维瘢痕组织中。结论心肌内细胞移植术后 7 d 内,被植入到慢性梗死心肌中的 BMSCs 细胞的可利用度高于被植入在正常心肌中的 BMSCs 细胞的可利用度。植入心肌内的 BMSCs 主要分布于由注射针头插入损伤和慢性心肌梗死导致的纤维瘢痕组织中。

海岸带资源可持续利用的有效评估方法是目前国际学术界的探索难点和热点。2008年11月至2009年7月就东海沿岸三省一市渔业保护区制度的生态-经济-社会综合效益问题,与现行东海渔业保护区的多方利益主体开展了11个指标意愿/满意度的面对面问卷调查,并进行模糊多准则和层次分析法的综合评估。分析结果表明:目前的休渔、禁渔区和禁渔线制度对维持渔业可持续发展和渔业生产经济效益有着重要的作用,是适应我国现阶段渔业管理水平和渔民觉悟水平的海洋渔业资源管理措施,但仍有近58%的利益相关者认为目前的东海渔业保护区制度有待较大改进之处。因此,建议将伏季休渔期提前至5月,取消大黄鱼幼鱼保护区,将渔用柴油补贴转为禁渔补贴,和加强公众宣传、教育和执法力度,以及增加包括渔民在内的公众参与渔业保护区决策的参与度等措施。这对制定合理的东海渔业管理措施、解决各方间矛盾有着重要指导意义。

为研究不同光截获对番茄植株形态结构的影响,基于结构-功能互反馈建模原理建立了番茄结构-功能模型。采用基于番茄拓扑结构的多目标估算方法,利用实验观测数据对模型进行多目标校准和验证。对局部遮阴和无遮阴栽培条件下番茄植株的生长过程进行动态模拟,并对不同生长阶段番茄植株的形态结构、器官周期累积生物量以及器官三维形态输出进行比较,结果表明:无遮阴栽培条件下,番茄植株茎杆节间短粗,叶片和果实较大,而局部遮阴栽培条件下番茄植株茎杆细长,叶片稀薄,果实较小。不同光截获下模型的输出结果与观测数据拟合较好,验证了模型的有效性。
