Evaluation of the effect of partial splenic embolization on platelet values for liver cirrhosis patients with thrombocytopenia

AIM： TO investigate the effect of partial splenic embolization （PSE） on platelet values in liver cirrhosis patients with thrombocytopenia and to determine the effective embolization area for platelet values improvement.METHODS： Blood parameters and liver function indicators were measured on 10 liver cirrhosis patients （6 in Child-Pugh grade A and 4 in grade B） with thrombocytopenia （platelet values 〈 80 × 10^3/μL） before embolization. Computed tomography scan was also needed in advance to acquire the splenic baseline. After 2 to 3 d, angiography and splenic embolization were performed. A second computed tomography scan was made to confirm the embolization area after 2 to 3 wk of embolization. The blood parameters of patients were also examined biweekly during the 1 year follow-up period. RESULTS： According to the computed tomography images after partial splenic embolization, we divided all paUents into two groups： low （〈 30%）, and high （≥ 30%） embolization area groups. The platelet values were increased by 3 times compared to baseline levels after 2 wk of embolization in high embolization area group. In addition, there were significant differences in platelet values between low and high embolization area groups. GPT values decreased significantly in all patients after 2 wk of embolization. The improvement in platelet and GPT values still persisted until 1 year after PSE. In addition, 3 of 4 （75%） Child-Pugh grade B patients progressed to grade A after 2 mo of PSE. The complication rate in 〈 30% and ≥30% embolization area groups was 50% and 100%, respectively. CONCLUSION： Partial splenic embolization is an effective method to improve platelet values and GPT values in liver cirrhosis patients with thrombocytopenia and the ≥ 30% embolization area is meaningful for platelet values improvement. The relationship between the complication rate and embolization area needs further studies.

High-performance nickel metal hydride battery anode with enhanced durability and excellent low-temperature discharge capability

Current AB_(5)-type hydrogen storage alloys employed in nickel-metal hydride(NiMH)batteries exhibit exceptional low-temperature discharge performance but suffer from limited cycle life and insufficient high-temperature *** overcome these challenges,we introduce a hydrothermal synthesized LaF_(3)coating layer on the surface of the AB_(5)anode *** LaF_(3)coating layer adds a protective barrier for the active material,significantly improving the battery's cycle life and high-temperature *** findings indicate that(1)the LaF_(3)coated anode demonstrates an extended cycle life with increased specific capacity and a capacity retention of 88%after 40 cycles of abusive overcharging and rapid discharging at room temperature.(2)The synthesized anode exhibits a 97%recovery of its specific capacity of 292.7 mAh/g following 144 h of high-temperature storage.(3)The low-temperature discharge capacity of the synthesized anode remains on par with the pristine AB_(5)alloy at 230.4 mAh/g in a-40℃*** research presents a significant advancement in hydrogen storage alloy coatings and offers valuable insights for designing electrodes in NiMH batteries.

Screening COVID-19 from chest X-ray images by an optical diffractive neural network with the optimized F number

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to significantly impact people's lives worldwide, emphasizing the critical need for effective detection methods. Many existing deep learning-based approaches for COVID-19 detection offer high accuracy but demand substantial computing resources, time, and energy. In this study, we introduce an optical diffractive neural network(ODNN-COVID), which is characterized by low power consumption, efficient parallelization, and fast computing speed for COVID-19 detection. In addition, we explore how the physical parameters of ODNN-COVID affect its diagnostic performance. We identify the F number as a key parameter for evaluating the overall detection capabilities. Through an assessment of the connectivity of the diffractive network, we established an optimized range of F number, offering guidance for constructing optical diffractive neural networks. In the numerical simulations, a three-layer system achieves an impressive overall accuracy of 92.64% and 88.89% in binary-and threeclassification diagnostic tasks. For a single-layer system, the simulation accuracy of 84.17% and the experimental accuracy of 80.83% can be obtained with the same configuration for the binary-classification task, and the simulation accuracy is 80.19% and the experimental accuracy is 74.44% for the three-classification task. Both simulations and experiments validate that the proposed optical diffractive neural network serves as a passive optical processor for effective COVID-19 diagnosis, featuring low power consumption, high parallelization, and fast computing capabilities. Furthermore, ODNN-COVID exhibits versatility, making it adaptable to various image analysis and object classification tasks related to medical fields owing to its general architecture.

This study aims to introduce the protocol for ultrasonic backscatter measurements of musculoskeletal properties based on a novel ultrasonic backscatter bone diagnostic(UBBD)***-energy X-ray absorptiometry(DXA)can be adopted to measure bone mineral density(BMD)in the hip,spine,legs and the whole *** muscle and fat mass in the legs and the whole body can be also calculated by DXA body composition *** on the proposed protocol for backscatter measurements by UBBD,ultrasonic backscatter signals can be measured in vivo,deriving three backscatter parameters[apparent integral backscatter(AIB),backscatter signal peak amplitude(BSPA)and the corresponding arrival time(BSPT)].AIB may provide important diagnostic information about bone *** and BSPT may be important indicators of muscle and fat *** standardized backscatter measurement protocol of the UBBD instrument may have the potential to evaluate musculoskeletal characteristics,providing help for promoting the application of the backscatter technique in the clinical diagnosis of musculoskeletal disorders(MSDs),such as osteoporosis and muscular atrophy.

Objective:To scrutinize the definitions of minimal invasive surgical therapy(MIST)and to investigate urologists’knowledge,attitudes,and practices for benign prostatic obstruction ***:A 36-item survey was developed with a Delphi *** on definitions of MIST and attitudes and practices of benign prostatic obstruction surgeries were *** were invited globally to complete the online *** was achieved when more than or equal to 70%responses were“agree or strongly agree”and less than or equal to 15%responses were“disagree or strongly disagree”(consensus agree),or when more than or equal to 70%responses were“disagree or strongly disagree”and less than or equal to 15%responses were“agree or strongly agree”(consensus disagree).Results:The top three qualities for defining MIST were minimal blood loss(n=466,80.3%),fast post-operative recovery(n=431,74.3%),and short hospital stay(n=425,73.3%).The top three surgeries that were regarded as MIST were Urolift®(n=361,62.2%),Rezum®(n=351,60.5%),and endoscopic enucleation of the prostate(EEP)(n=332,57.2%).Consensus in the knowledge section was achieved for the superiority of Urolift®,Rezum®,and iTIND®over transurethral resection of the prostate with regard to blood loss,recovery,day surgery feasibility,and post-operative *** in the attitudes section was achieved for the superiority of Urolift®,Rezum®,and iTIND®over transurethral resection of the prostate with regard to blood loss,recovery,and day surgery *** on both sections was achieved for EEP as the option with the better symptoms and flow improvement,lower retreatment rate,and better suitable for prostate more than 80 ***:Minimal blood loss,fast post-operative recovery,and short hospital stay were the most important qualities for defining ***®,Rezum®,and EEP were regarded as MIST by most urologists.

永磁同步电机(permanent magnet synchronous motor,PMSM)因转速范围宽、输出转矩大、调速响应快、尺寸小、质量轻等优点被广泛应用于电动汽车驱动系统。受恶劣气候、异常振动和频繁起动-制动工况因素影响,PMSM易发生匝间短路、退磁、轴承磨损等故障。本文针对PMSM相似故障单一维度信号下难区分以及工作条件发生变化时传统诊断方法鲁棒性差的问题,提出了一种基于经验模态分解-对称点模式(empirical mode decomposition-symmetric dot pattern,EMD-SDP)图像特征和改进DenseNet相结合的车用永磁同步电机故障诊断方法。首先,通过实验获取不同状态的电机在多种工况下振动信号,将预处理的振动信号进行EMD处理,求解不同层级本征模态函数(intrinsic mode function,IMF);其次,将原始振动信号转化为SDP图像,对不同层级IMF转化为RGB色彩特征在SDP图像上显示出来;然后,通过融合scSE注意力机制改进DenseNet学习图像数据集构建分类网络模型;最后,按照信号-图像-网络的流程对待测电机状态进行评估与诊断。诊断结果表明:所提出的方法在稳态和变速瞬态工况下均表现良好的性能。在恒速恒载工况下,所提的方法达到最高的故障诊断准确率(99.72%),相比基准的DenseNet的准确率(98.06%)提升了1.66个百分点。改进后的DenseNet模型和DenseNet模型的ROC曲线最接近左上角,AUC均值分别为0.9974和0.9745;在加速恒载和减速恒载工况下,改进后的DenseNet模型也达到了最高的诊断准确率,分别为96.88%和97.08%。AUC均值分别为0.9877和0.9869。本文所提出的方法的总体性能优于传统方法,能有效地用于速度变化时的故障诊断。

基于SYSWELD软件平台,以新型NM500钢的多层多道对接接头为研究对象,开发一种考虑固态相变的“热-冶金-力学”耦合计算方法来模拟对接接头的温度场、组织体积百分数以及焊接残余应力。同时,采用光学显微镜观察对接接头的显微组织,采用显微硬度计测量接头硬度分布,以及采用小孔法测量对接接头表面残余应力。数值模拟结果与试验测量结果的比较表明:使用实际焊接热输入模拟得到的对接接头超过冶金熔点以上的温度区域与实际焊接接头熔化区吻合较好;纵向残余应力峰值位于紧邻热影响区的母材上,其值约为1600 MPa,与母材的常温屈服极限相当;横向残余应力在焊缝厚度方向呈现“拉-压-拉”的分布形态。总体而言,数值模拟得到纵向及横向残余应力的大小及分布与试验测量结果吻合较好,验证了“热-冶金-力学”耦合计算方法的有效性。基于数值模拟结果,探讨了NM500钢多层多道对接接头焊接残余应力的形成机理。

针对复杂隧道施工环境下如何快速、准确测量喷射混凝土回弹率的问题,基于机器视觉三维重建技术中的主要理论和算法,提出了一种新的隧道喷射混凝土回弹率测定方法。该方法通过坐标标记版和手持相机快速采集图像,基于运动恢复结构(SFM)算法、基于面片的密集匹配(PMVS)算法与三角剖分原则实现隧道实际开挖轮廓及初支内轮廓的三维曲面网格模型的建立;通过网格射线法,将隧道实际开挖轮廓与初支内轮廓三维网格模型进行空间差值求解,获得初支实际有效的喷射混凝土体积;最后,结合实际喷射混凝土总用量,完成喷射混凝土回弹量的测定,并以郑万高铁巴东隧道为依托进行现场试验与应用。结果表明:所提方法测得的喷射混凝土回弹率比传统现场称重法测试结果更为合理,准确性更高,说明该方法能够较好地实现喷射混凝土回弹率的测试;在现场应用中,结合喷射混凝土回弹率的测试结果提出的降低回弹率的施工质量控制建议,现场采用后施工良好,保证了隧道施工质量;该测定方法简便高效、成本低、不干扰施工,具有较好的工程应用价值。

丹江口水库特大桥为主跨760 m的双塔双索面部分地锚式混合梁斜拉桥,边中跨比为0.2,采用梁塔分离、梁台固结的结构体系。根据主桥结构体系受力需要,主梁在跨中位置断开,设置跨中无轴力连接装置+伸缩装置构造。无轴力连接装置由导梁、外部大箱梁(H梁段和H′梁段)、竖向及横向支座系统组成,导梁长13.68 m。无轴力连接装置现场安装采用导梁跨中分段(2×6.84 m)拼装、外部大箱梁逐缝合龙的施工方法。首先在总拼场地进行无轴力连接装置工厂化预拼装,并安装竖向及横向支座系统,拼装完成后将导梁断开,回位至H梁段和H′梁段进行转运;然后现场吊装匹配连接H梁段,并将H梁段内部导梁向岸侧拖动固定;之后起吊H′梁段并与前置G梁段软连接;再进行H梁段和H′梁段导梁匹配连接;导梁匹配连接完成后进行H′梁段匹配连接;最后进行斜拉索放张、桥面吊机拆除。

Experimental research on the mechanism of non-monotonic characteristic between curing temperature and mechanical behaviors of Kevlar/epoxy composite

An experimental procedure is conducted to investigate the mechanism of the non-monotonic characteristic between curing temperature and mechanical behaviors of the Kevlar/epoxy composite in macro and micro levels. Different specimens are fabricated at four different curing temperatures and tested with ±45° off-axis tensile loading on a universal test machine coupled with digital image correlation(DIC). Moreover, the environmental scanning electron microscope(SEM) was used to obtain the micrographs and reveal their mechanism. The tested results show that the tensile mechanical behaviors are sensitive to the curing temperature and the relationship is non-monotonic. Also, as the temperature increases, the thicknesses of the specimens are significantly enlarged. By analyzing the SEM micrographs of the matrix grooves in the damage zone and DIC strain contours, it is concluded that the non-monotonic relationship is dominated by the properties of the Kevlar/epoxy interfaces and deformation of the distorted fibers.
