Introduction: Cervical myelopathy is the most common myelopathy among people over 50 of age. Cervicosteoarthritis is the main etiology. The purpose of this work was to identify clinical factors that may influence neurological recovery in patients undergoing surgery for cervical myelopathy in our work setting. Materials and Methods: We performed a retrospective analytical study on patients operated on for cervical myelopathy at the teaching hospital of Bouake. The logistic regression model was used to identify the factors influencing post-operative neurological recovery. Results: 50 patients’ records have been enrolled in this study. The mean age of our patients was 53 years with extremes ranging from 25 to 78 years and 39 of our patients (62%) were male. The mean modified pre-operative JOA score was 11.62 versus 12.94 after the surgery. Age, sex, the number of levels operated on and the duration of the evolution of the signs showed no significant link with neurological recovery. Preoperative mild myelopathy (P = 0.0491) and post-operative functional rehabilitation (P = 0.0459) were identified as factors favouring neurological recovery after cervical myelopathy surgery. Conclusion: The good conducts of functional rehabilitation sessions as well as a mild myelopathy were the factors favouring neurological recovery.

The compounds have been synthesized and characterized by routine MS, IR and NMR spectrometry methods. The compounds are all active on bacterial strains with the exception of Salmonella typhimirium, with a MIC value of 7.5 mg/mL. They show a percentage of anti-radical activity of 75.476 ± 5.070 for the compound DAN-S and of 68.142 ± 6.539 for the compound DAN-OV. The compounds are sensitive to the two champions used. DAN-S compound is then the most active.

Dear editor,Radiotherapy is a cornerstone in the management of anal or rectal cancer. Because elderly patients are often excluded from clinical trials, little is known about radiotherapy’s therapeutic index (efficacy/toxicity ratio) in the geriatric population [1]. Still, the ageing of population imposes the challenge to treat older cancer patients and probably to adjust their treatment [2]. A few studies reported data on radiation-induced toxicities in nonagenarian patients, but data on efficacy are still scarce. For rectal cancer, preoperative radiotherapy programs were suggested to be feasible in elderly patients [3–5], with a preference for short protocols without chemotherapy [4]. For anal cancer, the safety of radiochemotherapy was only reported in limited sets of elderly patients [6]. The objective of the present study was to report efficacy and toxicity data on the radiotherapy treatment of nonagenarian patients with anal or rectal cancer.We analyzed the data of 34 nonagenarian patients with anal or rectal cancers: 27 (79.4%) with a rectal adenocarcinoma and 7 (20.6%) with an anal canal squamous cell carcinoma.

Waterbasin management is an exemplar problem of collective action, since many actors influence and are influenced by changes in a waterbasin. The present paper uses the example of finance of control of surface water run-off as an instance of (potential) collective action involving finance. Five innovative financing schemes for new waterbasin management infrastructures are assessed with respect to the actors who provide the finance and how the projects are governed: 1) financing through taxes;2) third-party financing;3) financing by stakeholders;4) financing through fullcost pricing;and 5) financing by developers and/or landowners.

Knowledge of genetic diversity is essential for any future varietal improvement program. Thus, the objective of this study is to contribute to a better knowledge of the genetic diversity within 15 sesame accessions, using biochemical markers and RAPD. The accessions are of various sources and seeds of different colors;color being an important feature in the sesame market. SDS-PAGE on protein extracts of sesame seeds revealed 31 protein markers, only 4 of which were polymorphic, indicating that this technique is not suitable for studying genetic diversity in S. indicum. The analyses on isoenzymatic extracts of esterase from sesame seedlings made it possible, to distinguish and classify the accessions into 2 major groups. RAPD analysis of genomic DNA using 10-mer primers revealed a high inter-accession genetic diversity. A total of 53 DNA markers, including 48 polymorphic, were produced. The coefficient of similarity between accessions ranged from 0.343 to 0.897. RAPD markers were found to be more suitable for studying genetic diversity within sesame germplasm than isozyme analyzes. Nevertheless, geographical distributions and seed colors are not related to the classes formed.

Complete Ureteral Duplicity Complicated by Lithiasis with Right Ureterohydronephrosis with Left Renal Excretion Defect: Apropos of a Clinical Case

Ureteral duplication is a congenital malformative uropathy that occurs most often in children. Complete ureteral duplication is defined by a kidney that has two ureters with two orifices that communicate to the bladder through two ureteral meati. It is an anatomical variant that remains rare. Its early discovery is due to a lack of diagnostic means, hence the occurrence of long-term complications. To this end, we observe an increased importance of the morbidity linked to the late diagnosis of this duplicity. Our objective was to show the importance of the morbidity linked to the late diagnosis of this anomaly, the incidence of the infection and the complications that this pathology poses as a problem. It was a clinical case of fortuitous discovery taken care of by a general surgeon in the general surgery department of the hospital “Mother Child” Le Luxembourg Bamako Mali. We report a case of complete ureteral duplication complicated by ureterohydronephrosis on a lithiasis wedged in the uretero-vesical junction of one of the left ureters in its lower portion which required a uretero-lithotomy with bladder reimplantation of the left ureters and secondly to a uretero-lithotomy with bladder reimplantation after two months. The postoperative course was simple.

Head and neck squamous cell cancer(HNSCC) is the sixth most common cancer in the world. Effective therapeutic modalities such as surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and combinations of each are used in the management of the disease. In most cases, treatment fails to obtain total cancer cure. In recent years, it appears that one of the key determinants of treatment failure may be the presence of cancer stem cells(CSCs) that escape currently available therapies. CSCs form a small portion of the total tumor burden but may play a disproportionately important role in determining outcomes. CSCs have stem features such as self-renewal, high migration capacity, drug resistance, high proliferation abilities. A large body of evidence points to the fact that CSCs are particularly resistant to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. In HNSCC, CSCs have been increasingly shown to have an integral role in tumor initiation, disease progression, metastasis and treatment resistance. In the light of such observations, the present review summarizes biological characteristics of CSCs in HNSCC, outlines targeted strategies for the successful eradication of CSCs in HNSCC including targeting the self-renewal controlling pathways, blocking epithelial mesenchymal transition, niche targeting, immunotherapy approaches and highlights the need to better understand CSCs biology for new treatments modalities.

Congestion control in wireless networks has been extensively investigated over the years and several schemes and techniques have been developed, all with the aim of improving performance in wireless net-work. With the rapid expansion and implementation of wireless technology it is essential that the congestion control problem be solved. This paper presents a survey of five congestion control schemes which are dif-ferent in slow start threshold calculation, bandwidth estimation, and congestion window manipulation. A comprehensive comparison of these approaches is given in relation to assumptions, bandwidth estimation, congestion window size manipulation, performance evaluation, fairness and friendliness and improved throughput.

The principal aimed of this study was to show a correlation of Belt and Road Initiative and sustainable development for future years and additionally,tends to explain by which process,strategy Belt and Road Initiative works on to improve their sustainability.This master thesis methodology was based on qualitative research with four experts that gives their advice and opinions on the problematic during interview sessions.We meet those experts in specific forums such as the forum of “Education for the Belt and Road Initiative,Our Shared Dream” The 8th International Educational Forum on the 03/04/2019 or at the Shanghai Expat Services Conferences on Green Technology in China.We also complete our answer with quantitative research made by an online survey with 200 answers and also by two case analyses with one focusing on a BRI failure in Myanmar with a view to learning from past errors and the other case highlight a formula developed by researchers that shows the evolution of sustainable development score through Belt and Road Initiative,which could be interesting to implement as an official index.According to our research,average sustainability through Belt and Road Initiative is low,but in constant positive progress.Thus,we could affirm a positive correlation between BRI and the SD field for future years.More than that,from our quantitative research that has been done via an online survey with 200 answers,people trust and have faith in the ability of such a project to positively correlate with a sustainable development pillar.This master thesis also highlights the desire of Chinese and Western European countries to financially involved themselves if the sustainable conditions are respected which represents a new pathway for the financial worlds to attract capital.In the other hand,this study is reinforced by qualitative research made by interviews with professional experts’ link to BRI and – or,sustainable development field.By the case analysis and qualitative research,this study was able to answer towards what kin

Introduction: Cardiac tumors in children are rare. Most are discovered in children under one year of age. Echocardiography is the basic examination for the screening, it allows their detection from the fetal stage. Observation: She was a 14-year-old patient with no known history of pathology. She was admitted to our department for the exploration of dyspnea and chest pain. At her admission, she had stable hemodynamics. At cardiac auscultation, heart sounds were muffled. The EKG recorded a sinus rhythm, and negative T-waves from V1 to V4. The chest X-ray showed cardiomegaly and a dense, rounded, heterogeneous left hilar opacity, well limited. Echocardiography objected to a great intrapericardial mass in front of the left cardiac cavities compressing part of the left atrium and left ventricle associated with an important pericardial effusion. The CT scan found a heterogeneous pericardial suspected myxoma mass. The pathological examination confirmed pericardial teratoma. The patient had an excision of the pericardial mass. The evolution after surgery was favorable. Conclusion: Intra-pericardial teratomas are benign tumor. Complete removal of the tumor is curative and without recurrence.
