The Essential Oil of Ocimum americanum from Senegal and Gambia as a Source of methyleugenol for the Control of Bactrocera dorsalis, Fruit Fly

The fruit fly, Bactrocera dorsalis (diptera: Tephritidae) is one of the most important pests in all mango-producing areas, particularly in West Africa. In Senegal, O. americanum leaves have been used for several years to control this fly. However, to our knowledge, no chemical studies have been carried out. Thus, the aim of this study is to determine the chemical composition of the essential oil of O. americanum leaves collected in Senegal and Gambia. The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation of these leaves is analyzed by GC/FId and GC/mS. Yields of essential oils from O. americanum leaves are 3.84% and 2.13%, respectively. Analysis of these essential oils by GC/FId and GC/mS allowed the identification of 23 compounds representing almost 100% of the total compositions. These essential oils are mainly dominated by methyleugenol (72.0% and 75.8%, respectively). Other components in significant percent are trans-β-caryophyllene (13.9% and 13.0%, respectively), germacrene d (4.1% and 3.7%, respectively), β-elemene (3.3% and 0.9%, respectively). due to the high methyleugenol content, this study explains the attractive potential of O. americanum towards B. dorsalis. In perspective, we plan to evaluate the attractive effect of the essential oil and leaf powder of O. americanum against B. dorsalis, a real pest of mango orchards in Senegal.

The development of non-precious,acid-stable,oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalysts can significantly aid the commercialization of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEmFCs).We report a survey of the ORR electrocatalysis on 3d metal substituted(m=mn,Fe,Co)molybdenum and tungsten nitrides in acidic *** find that molybdate catalysts are more active than tungstates,with the specific activity depending on the chemistry of the substituted 3d *** both families,more electronegative 3d metals led to higher ORR activity(i.e.,Co>Fe>mn).We attribute this result to the ability of the more electro negative 3d metal to withdraw electro ns from the mo-or W-based active sites,effectively oxidizing the metal centers of the *** on our observation,future nitride ORR electrocatalysts can be further optimized by oxidizing the mo sites further by,for example,addi ng eve n more electro negative dopa nt metals or in corporati ng anion vaca ncies.

This paper is devoted to the study of the subspace of Wm＇＂ of functions that vanish on a part γ0 of the boundary. The author gives a crucial estimate of the Poincare constant in balls centered on the boundary of γ0. Then, the convolution-translation method, a variant of the standard mollifier technique, can be used to prove the density of smooth functions that vanish in a neighborhood of γ0, in this subspace. The result is first proved for m = 1, then generalized to the case where m 〉 1, in any dimension, in the framework of Lipschitz-continuous domain. However, as may be expected, it is needed to make additional assumptions on the boundary of γ0, namely that it is locally the graph of some Lipschitz-continuous function.

勺链式马铃薯播种机在播种过程中漏播造成的产量下降是巨大的,多年来一直是制约马铃薯产业效益提高的关键因素。现有解决方案存在明显的缺点,如误检率高、补偿机制复杂和系统可靠性低。本研究的主要目标是为新设计的单行马铃薯播种机开发一种检测精度高、控制结构简单、可靠性高的马铃薯漏播监测和补偿控制系统。针对漏播补偿中附加补偿通道难以精确控制马铃薯落点的现象,本文提出了一种播补一体化的方案。也就是说,补偿薯种和正常薯种需要使用相同的播种通道。因此,提出了一种新的追赶式补偿概念,但它是基于一种新型的红外漏播检测方案。对于播种监测,提出了一种红外两点式漏播检测方案。两个霍尔传感器放置在播种槽壁的特定部分。当每个种勺携带的小磁钢经过其表面时,将触发种子计量状态判断。首先,红外发射终端发射信号,然后将立即检测接收终端的电平变化,以判断是否发生漏播。“三判两胜”的规则大大减少了误判。两个检测点的原理相同,但靠近排种口的点负责漏播判断,其上方的点用于确定将要补充的马铃薯种的存在。在新的马铃薯播种机机械系统中,排种链轮分别通过两个单向离合器与地轮和补偿电机连接。在正常运行期间,地轮通过主动力传动单向离合器向播种系统提供动力。然而,当漏播发生且补偿条件可用时,系统控制电机加速并通过补偿单向离合器以更高的速度替换主动力。因此,在漏播薯勺后面切块薯种,可以在漏播薯勺以其原始速度跨越一个勺距的时间段内通过两个勺距。以此完成追赶式补偿。补偿完成后,电机将立即停止,排种链轮的动力再次自动切换到地轮,继续正常播种。红外两点漏播检测有助于更快地生成漏播判断结果,并且易于实现追赶补偿。通过不断地修改参数,可以减小补偿马铃薯种子的落点偏差,从而通过软件增强硬件功能。详细推导了控制理论、主要参考电路图以及一些关键硬件选择的严格依据,特别是控制软件开发中的许多关键创新环节都得到了深入分享。系统样机的田间试验结果表明,红外光电漏播检测系统的误判率不会超过1‰,补偿成功率随着排种链速度的增加而迅速下降。然而,即使勺链的速度达到0.8m/s的最大值,平均而言,几乎2/3的漏播也可以得到成功补偿。下降点偏差也随着运行速度的增加而显著增加,在0.8 m/s时达到45.71%,但就一般标准而言,其性能仍然合格。因此,基本解决了系统检测的可靠性,确认了追赶式补偿的工程可行性,为其未来应用奠定了坚实的基础。

Environmental stability is a major bottleneck of perovskite solar *** a handful of studies are investigating the effect of moisture on the structural degradation of the *** mostly rely on ex situ experiments and on completely degraded samples,which restrict the assessment on initial and final *** combining in situ X-ray diffraction under controlled 85%relative humidity,and live observations of the water-induced degradation using liquid-cell transmission electron microscopy,we reveal two competitive degradation paths leading on one hand to the decomposition of state-of-theart mixed cation/anion(Cs_(0.05)(mA_(0.17)FA_(0.83))_(0.95)Pb(Br_(0.17)I_(0.83))_(3)(CsmAFA)into PbI_(2) through a dissolution/recrystallization mechanism and,on the other hand,to a non-equilibrium phase segregation leading to CsPb_(2)Br_(5) and a Cesium-poor/iodide-rich Cs_(0.05)-x(mA_(0.17)FA_(0.83))_(0.95)Pb(Br_(0.17-2y)I_(0.83)+2y)_(3) *** degradation mechanism is corroborated at atomic-scale resolution through solid-state ^(1)H and ^(133)Cs NmR *** to moisture leads to a film containing important heterogeneities in terms of morphology,photoluminescence intensities,and *** results provide new insights and consensus that complex perovskite compositions,though very performant as champion devices,are comparatively metastable,a trait that limits the chances to achieve long-term stability.

A Kinematics Scalar Projection method (KSP) for Incompressible Flows with Variable density

A new scalar projection method presented for simulating incompressible flows with variable density is proposed. It reverses conventional projection algorithm by computing first the irrotational component of the velocity and then the pressure. The first phase of the projection is purely kinematics. The predicted velocity field is subjected to a discrete Hodge-Helmholtz decomposition. The second phase of upgrade of pressure from the density uses Stokes’ theorem to explicitly compute the pressure. If all or part of the boundary conditions is then fixed on the divergence free physical field, the system required to be solved for the scalar potential of velocity becomes a Poisson equation with constant coefficients fitted with dirichlet conditions.

Real-world emission factors for Caterpillar 797B heavy haulers during mining operations

Real-world fuel-based emission factors （EFs） from Caterpillar 797B diesel heavy haulers when used for oil sands mining operations were measured using an on-hoard portable emissions monitoring system. Average EFs （in g/kg fuel） for 16 separate tests on four trucks were 3150 ± 4 for CO2, 2.51 ± 1.30 for CH4, 10.28 ± 3.21 for CO, 0.61 ± 0.32 for non-methane hydrocarbons, 55.49 ± 9,75 for NOx （reported as NO2）, 0.70 ± 0.17 for Pm2.s （mass of particles with aerodynamic diameter 〈2.5 μm）, and 0.34 ± 0.05 for black carbon （BC）. Ultrafine particle numbers averaged （4.7 ± 4.1 ） × 10^15 particleslkg fuel. Fuel-based EFs of NO, NO2, and particle numbers were higher during idling, whereas Pm2.5 and BC EFs were higher during traveling without a load. A comparison of emissions with those reported by oil sands facilities showed large variations, both among the facilities and between the reported emissions and the real-world measurements.
