this study reports an inventory of marsh dieback events from spatial and temporal perspectives in the North Inlet-Winyah Bay(NIWB)estuary,South Carolina(SC).Past studies in the Gulf/Atlantic coast states have reported acute marsh dieback events in which marsh rapidly browned and thinned,leaving stubble of dead stems or mudflat with damaged ecosystem *** marsh dieback in SC,however,have been *** study identified all marsh dieback events in the estuary since *** 20 annually collected Landsat images,the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)series was extracted.A Stacked Denoising Autoencoder neural network was developed to identify the NDVI anomalies on the *** marsh dieback patches were extracted,and their inter-annual changes were *** showed a continuous,spatially variable multi-year dieback event in 1998–2005,which aligned with the reported dieback in the early 2000s from other *** identified patches mostly returned to normal within one year while the phenomenon reoccurred in other areas of the estuary during the prolonged dieback *** study presents the first attempt to explore long-term dieback dynamics in an estuary using satellite time *** provides valuable information in documenting marsh healthiness and environmental resilience on SC coasts.

Purpose:the purposes of this study were to examine the trajectories of athlete burnout across a 2-month period characterized by high physical,psychological,and social demands to explore(1)whether several subgroups of athletes representing distinct burnout trajectories emerged from the analyses and(2)whether athlete burnout symptoms(reduced accomplishment,sport devaluation,and exhaustion)developed in tandem or whether some burnout dimensions predicted downstream changes in other dimensions(causal ordering model).Methods:One hundred and fifty-nine table tennis players in intensive training centers completed a self-reported athlete burnout measure across 3 time points within a 2-month period characterized by high *** were analyzed through latent class growth ***:Results of latent class growth analysis showed 3 distinct trajectories for each athlete burnout dimension,indicating not only linear or quadratic change but also stability in longitudinal athlete burnout *** also suggested that the 3 dimensions of athlete burnout did not develop in ***,the likelihood of belonging to particular emerging trajectories of sport devaluation and physical/emotional exhaustion was significantly influenced by the athletes’perception of reduced accomplishment assessed at time ***,reduced accomplishment predicted downstream changes in the 2 other athlete burnout ***:As a whole,these results highlighted that the multinomial heterogeneity in longitudinal athlete burnout symptoms needs to be accounted for in future research.

the Panzhihua gabbroic intrusion,part of the plumbing system of the Emeishan large igneous province, intruded late-Proterozoic dolomites and marls about～263 Ma *** dolomites in the contact aureole were converted to brucite marbles and a diverse suite of forsterite,diopside and garnet *** variation in mineralogy is explained in part by differences in the composition of the protolith,particularly the proportion of silica minerals and clay,and in part by transfer of elements from intruding *** trace element compositions of most marbles and skarns are very similar to those of unmetamorphosed dolomites and marls,but some contain high Si,ti,and Fe contents that are interpreted to have come from a magmatic *** brucite marbles sampled～10 m from the contact of the intrusion and named ＂enriched brucite marble＂ have trace element compositions very different from their dolomitic protolith：their rare earth elements are strongly enriched whereas levels of Nb-ta,Zr-Hf and ti are very *** characteristics resemble those of carbonate liquid in equilibrium with silicate liquid or more probably with silicate minerals in the case of Panzhihua,a similarity we take to indicate that the sample underwent partial *** taken up to 300 m from the contact contain brucite indicating that high temperatures persisted well into the country ***,other samples collected only tens of metres from the contact are only slightly recrystallized indicating that conditions in the aureole were highly *** suggest that temperatures within the aureole were controlled by conduction of heat from the main intrusion and by supply of additional heat from abundant small dykes within the *** of fluids derived from deeper levels in the aureole flushed the carbon dioxide from the dolomite,lowering temperature needed to partially melt carbonate to the temperatures attained near the *** but extensive heating destabilized the carbon

the approach of Obukhov assuming a constant skewness was used to obtain analytical corrections to the scaling of the second order structure function, starting from Kolmogorov＇s 4/5 law. these corrections can be used in model applications in which explicit expressions, rather than numerical solutions are needed. the comparison with an interpolation formula proposed by Batchelor, showed that the latter gives surprisingly precise results. the modification of the same method to obtain analytical corrections to the scaling law, taking into account the possible corrections induced by intermittency, is also proposed.

Red osier dogwood(Cornus sericea L.),widely distributed throughout North America,is essential for wildlife,thus *** is recommended for reclamation or revegetation of sites disturbed by oil and gas extraction because it tolerates a wide range of soil types and high pH *** germination of this species is extremely difficult with long stratification requirements and poor germination,cuttings facilitate *** this study,to develop techniques to propagate the species from stem cuttings,four concentrations of indole-3-butyric acid(IBA)and two cutting ages previous year’s growth(PYG)and current year’s growth(CYG)were investigated for survival and *** 4 months,survival rate,height growth,and shoot biomass from PYG cuttings were enhanced with IB *** contrast,IB A did not affect these parameters in CYG *** morphology was significantly affected by IB A concentration and cutting ***,at higher concentrations,increased root surface and *** root surface area and length of PYG cuttings were increased,which may facilitate the absorption of essential resources and consequently increase *** results indicate that increasing the concentration of IB A may be an effective way to have better plant survival and growth of previous year’s cuttings in red osier dogwood.

the retinoid receptor-related orphan receptor alpha（RORα） is thought to act as a constitutive activator of transcription by binding to the ROR response element（RORE） of target genes. Several mouse models in which RORα is defective have revealed the decisive roles of RORα on the development, maturation and neuroprotection of various cerebral regions including the cerebellar and somatosensory systems. We have recently shown that RORα is needed for accurate thalamic sensory system organization and somatosensory cortex development. the phenotype of various RORα deficient mice models（staggerer mutant or mouse lacking RORα in specific somatosensory regions） is, in part, reminiscent of what has been described in mice lacking thyroid hormone triiodothyronine（t3）. As in in vitro studies or in other models, our studies strongly suggest that the t3/RORα-pathway, among others, is in part responsible for the staggerer phenotype. We have indeed identified some genes that were both regulated by t3 and RORα and that are known to be implicated in the cerebellar or somatosensory system development. Moreover, several groups have shown that RORα is at the crossroad of many biological processes and pathologies, including psychiatric and degenerative disorders. In particular, defective RORα-signalling has been demonstrated in humans to be associated with the emergence of autistic-like disorders. We believe that determining the appropriate amount of RORα activity could be crucial in detecting and preventing the emergence of specific brain diseases.
