Antibiotic resistance has becom. a m.jor threat to hum.n health worldwide. Environm.nt, particularly the water environm.nt, has long been overlooked as a player in the antibiotic resistance cycle, although its role rem.ins unclear. These can provide an ideal setting for the acquisition and dissem.nation of antibiotic resistance, as they are frequently affected by anthropogenic activities. The objective of this study was to establish a diffusion m.p of resistance integrons used as genetic m.rkers of resistance associated with antibiotic resistance conferring genes (ARGs). Total DNA extracts from.non-cultivable bacterial com.unities were used for the analyses. These com.unities were obtained from.wastewater sam.les from.14 sites upstream.and downstream.of drainage channels or effluents in the cities of Abidjan, Bouaké, and Yam.ussoukro. The results obtained correspond to the num.er of positives am.ng the treated sam.les (n = 39). Am.ng the genetic m.rkers of dissem.nation, class 1 integrons were the m.st evident in 94.8% of sam.les in Abidjan (93.3%), Bouaké (100%) and Yam.ussoukro (91.6%). Class 2 integrons and class 3 integrons were found respectively in 41% and 51% of all sam.les. Genes coding for β-lactam.ses and blaTEm.was identified in alm.st all sam.les at a rate of 97.4%. A co-presence of the three genes blaTEm. blaSHV and blaCTX-m.is also rem.rkable in the sites of the city of Yam.ussoukro. Am.ng the genes coding for carbapenem.ses, only blaKPC 17.94%, blaNDm.30.76% and blaOXA48 38.46% were detected in the sam.les.

Introduction: The incidence of acute renal failure (ARF) varies between 20% and 40% of cases for COVID-19 patients adm.tted to the intensive care unit, with very high m.rtality, but heterogeneous according to the different epidem.c waves, probably due to the genetic variant phenom.non of the virus. The aim.of this study is to determ.ne the m.rbidity and m.rtality of COVID-19 patients adm.tted with ARF to the intensive care unit of the Grand H?pital Est Francilien (GHEF) according to the waves and variants. m.thods: Cross-sectional observational study of COVID-19 patients with ARF adm.tted to the intensive care unit of the GHEF site in m.aux covering the period from.m.rch 1st 2020 to Decem.er, 31st 2021. Per-hospitalisation and outcom. data were collected and analysed with SPSS version 25.0 software using the Chi-square or Fischer’s exact test or Student’s t-test and logistic regression for p Results: A total of 86 patients were included. The m.an age was higher (70 ± 8.5) in patients in the fourth wave than in the other waves (p = 0.015), with m.le predom.nance in all waves without significant difference. Co-m.rbidities: hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, dyslipidaem.a and arrhythm.a com.lete with fibrillation were present in all waves. The m.jority of patients were classified as KDIGO 1 for the different waves (1st: 61.9%, 2nd: 86.5%, 3rd: 80%, and 4th: 75%), with the sam. trend according to variant (alpha: 80%, beta: 75%, delta: 81.3%, om.cron: 75%). m.rtality by the wave was: 1st: 28.5%, 2nd: 37.5%, 3rd: 23% and 4th: 11%) and by variant: alpha: 24.2%, beta: 44.8%, delta: 20.7%, om.cron: 10.3%). Overall m.rtality was 33.7%. Case fatality was higher in the fourth wave. History: Pediatric m.nagem.nt of HIV infection in children in the Central African Republic began in 2004 with the use of fractionated adult antiretrovirals and Cotrim.xazole. It has evolved over the years with the use of pediatric form., oral suspensions and dispersible tablets. The transition to Dolutegravir took place in 2020. The active file of our patients will grow from.78 to over 1900 today. Follow-up exam.nations are carried out to assess adherence to treatm.nt. Objective: To determ.ne the im.unovirological profile and factors associated with treatm.nt failure during follow-up of children on ART at the Bangui pediatric university hospital. Patients and m.thod: This was a cross-sectional, analytical study from.m.y 30 to Decem.er 02, 2022. The study sam.le was drawn from.a cohort of HIV-1-infected children followed up at the Bangui pediatric university hospital and on ART for three sem.sters who m.t the selection criteria. Results: The prevalence of treatm.nt failure varied from.one sem.ster to the next. Thus, the prevalence of therapeutic failure was 20% in the first sem.ster, 10% in the second sem.ster and 7% in the third sem.ster. The prevalence of virological failure was 10.28% in the first half of the year, 6.91% in the second half and 4.98% in the third. Secondly, im.unological failure was 0.48% in the first half of the year, 0.32% in the second 0.64% in the third half. Finally, clinical failure was 8.82% in the first half, 4.82% in the second half, 1.92% in the third half. Socio-dem.graphic and clinical factors associated with treatm.nt failure were m.le gender (p 1000 copies/m. (p Conclusion: The occurrence of treatm.nt failures in children is a m.jor problem. especially in our resource-lim.ted countries, given the challenges facing antiretroviral therapy. It is therefore necessary to carry out a study on resistance genotyping in order to propose correct m.nagem.nt protocols, as the future of treatm.nt program. depends on it.

In this work, lateral deform.tion of hum.n eosinophil cell during the lateral indentation by an optically trapped m.crobead of diam.ter 4.5 µm.is studied. The im.ges were captured using a CCD cam.ra and the Boltzm.nn statistics m.thod was used for force calibration. Using the Hertz m.del, we calculated and com.ared the elastic m.duli resulting from.the lateral force, showing that the differences are im.ortant and the force should be considered. Besides the lateral com.onent, the setup also allows us to exam.ne the lateral cell-bead interaction. The m.an values of the properties obtained, in particular the elastic stiffness and the shear stiffness, were Eh = (37.76 ± 2.85) µN/m.and Gh = (12.57 ± 0.32) µN/m. These results show that the lateral indentation can therefore be used as a routine m.thod for cell study, because it enabled us to m.nipulate the cell without contact with the laser.

Histone Acetylation, VERNALIZATION INSENSITIVE 3, FLOWERING LOCUS C, and the Vernalization Response

The quantitative induction of VIN3 by low tem.eratures is required for PRC2 repression of FLC and prom.tion of flowering （vernalization） in Arabidopsis. Histone acetylation, a chrom.tin m.dification com.only associated with gene transcription, increased on VIN3 chrom.tin in two spatially and tem.orally distinct phases in response to low tem.eratures. During short-term.cold exposure, histone H3 acetylation at the transcription start site rapidly increased, im.lying that it is required for VlN3 induction. Subsequent changes in histone H3 and H4 acetylation occurred following continued VIN3 transcription during prolonged cold exposure. m.m.ers of the SAGA-like transcriptional adaptor com.lex, including the histone acetyltransferase GCNS, which induces expression of the cold acclim.tion pathway genes, do not regulate VlN3 induction during cold exposure, indicating that the cold acclim.tion pathway and the cold-induction of VlN3 are regulated by different transcriptional m.chanism.. m.tations in the other 11 histone acetyltransferase genes did not affect VlN3 induction. However, nicotinam.de, a histone deacetyiase inhibitor, induced VIN3 and altered histone acetylation at the VIN3 locus. VIN3 induction was proportional to the length of nicotinam.de treatm.nt, which was associated with an early-flowering phenotype and repression of FLC. However, unlike vernalization, the repression of FLC was independent of VIN3 activity. Nicotinam.de treatm.nt did not cause a change in the expression of any genes in the autonom.us pathway or m.m.ers of the PRC2 com.lex, the well characterized repressors of FLC. Our data suggest that FLC is repressed via a novel pathway involving the SIR2 class of histone deacetylases.

Contribution of GIS to Soil Landscape m.pping by m.lti-Criteria Analysis Using Weighting: The Case of the Square Degrees of m.Bahiakro (Centre) and Daloa (Centre-West) in Ivory Coast

As part of the drive to im.rove coffee and cocoa production in Ivory Coast, studies are carried out to identify soils that are favourable for these crops. It is therefore necessary to orientate soil investigations based on reliable criteria that best discrim.nate soil cover. With this in m.nd, this study is being carried out to help im.rove survey m.thods by m.pping soil landscapes. It uses GIS and weighted m.lticriteria analysis. To do this, satellite im.ges were processed and the geological m.p of the square degrees of m.Bahiakro and Daloa was reclassified. The results show that relief is the m.in factor in soil landscape differentiation, with respective weights of 0.58 and 0.67 for the forest and pre-forest zones. In contrast, the weight of geological form.tion in soil landscape differentiation rem.ins low (0.05 for the forest zone and 0.07 for the pre-forest zone). The criteria used on the base of aggregation sum.m.thods have m.de it possible to form.late soil landscape m.pping prediction functions according to agro-ecological environm.nts in the hum.d intertropical zone. This is essential for the orientation of soil survey work. Nevertheless, other com.arative m.thods, such as the coding m.pping m.thod, could provide elem.nts for discussion to validate the m.dels.

C-Nitroso species are characterized by a unique nitrogen–oxygen com.ination located next to a carbon backbone,which confers them.a unique am.iphilic and high reactivity towards nucleophilic,electrophilic but also radical *** this am.ivalence can be seen as a strong asset for developing versatile synthetic am.nohydroxylation and/or hydroxylam.nation processes m.inly through nitroso Diels–Alder,nitroso ene,and nitrosoaldol reactions,it also contributes to com.lex optim.zation and rationalization arising from.the m.ny com.etitive pathways,that is,the occurrence of regioisom.rs and stereoisom.rs,as well as dim.rization and tautom.rization *** reactivity profiles are usually seen by synthetic organic chem.sts as m.jor hurdles to overcom.,despite the arm.da of analytical and purification m.thods available to them.and hence to achieve selective and exploitable developm.nts of such *** rise of com.utational chem.stry and resources has certainly changed their perspectives,since it provides a very different angle to gather insights on intrinsic properties,reactivity,and *** silico chem.stry also provides a robust alternative to tim. and resource-consum.ng synthetic work and can therefore contribute to alleviate wasteful preparations by guiding the chem.st toward the best com.ination of reagents to achieve high selectivity and *** synergistic com.ination of synthetic organic chem.stry and com.utational chem.stry,within the specific context of the com.lex chem.stry of C-nitroso species,is discussed in this *** review aim. at giving an overview of the m.lecular and chem.cal properties obtained through com.utational chem.stry as an enabling support for the rationalization and optim.zation of reactions relying on am.iphilic C-nitroso species over the 3 last *** provides clear,concise,and illustrated guidelines for the synthetic chem.st in search of inspiration through com.utations.

Experim.ntal evidence of obesity as a risk factor for severe acute pancreatitis

The incidence of acute pancreatitis, an inflam.ation of the pancreas, is increasing worldwide. Pancreatic injury is m.ld in 80%-90% of patients who recover without com.lications. The rem.ining patients m.y develop a severe disease with local com.lications such as acinar cell necrosis, abscess and rem.te organ injury including lung injury. The early prediction of the severity of the disease is an im.ortant goal for physicians in m.nagem.nt of patients with acute pancreatitis in order to optim.ze the therapy and to prevent organ dysfunction and local com.lications. For that purpose, m.ltiple clinical scale scores have been applied to patients with acute pancreatitis. Recently, a new problem.has em.rged： the increased severity of the disease in obese patients. However, the m.chanism. by which obesity increases the severity of acute pancreatitis are unclear. Several hypotheses have been suggested：（1） obese patients have an increased inflam.ation within the pancreas; （2） obese patients have an increased accum.lation of fat within and around the pancreas where necrosis is often located; （3） increase in both peri- and intra-pancreatic fat and inflam.atory cells explain the high incidence of pancreatic inflam.ation and necrosis in obese patients; （4） hepatic dysfunction associated with obesity m.ght enhance the system.c inflam.atory response by altering the detoxiflcation of inflam.atory m.diators; and （5） ventilation/perfusion m.sm.tch leading to hypoxia associated with a low pancreatic flow m.ght reduce the pancreatic oxygenation and further enhance pancreatic injury. Recent experim.ntal investigations also show an increased m.rtality and m.rbidity in obese rodents with acute pancreatitis and the im.lication of the adipokines leptin and adiponectin. Such m.dels are im.ortant to investigate whether the inflam.atory response of the disease is enhanced by obesity.
