Background:MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are endogenous non-coding RNAS that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level and are key modulators in neurodegenerative *** miRNAs play an important role in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS);however,the pathogenic mechanisms of deregulated miRNAS are still ***:We aimed to assess the dysfunction of RNAS or miRNAs in fALS(SOD1 mutations).We compared the RNA-seq of subcellular fractions in NSC-34 WT(hSOD1)and MT(hSOD1(G93A))cells to find altered RNAs or *** identified that Hif1a and Mef2c were upregulated,and Mctp1 and Rarb were downregulated in the cytoplasm of NSC-34 MT ***:SOD1 mutations decreased the level of *** Hif1a which is the target for miR-18b increased Mef2c expression as a transcription ***2c upregulated miR-206 as a transcription *** of Mctp1 and Rarb,which are targets of miR-206,induced intracellular Ca^2+ levels and reduced cell differentiation,*** miR-18b-5p pathway was also observed in G93A Tg mice,fALS(G86S)patient,and iPSC-derived motor neurons from fALS(G17S)***:Our data indicate that SOD1 mutation decreases miR-18b-5p,which sequentially regulates Hif1a,Mef2c,miR-206,Mctp1 and Rarb in fALS-linked SOD1 *** results provide new insights into the downregulation of miR-18b-5p-dependent pathogenic mechanisms of ALS.

Genomic and epigenomic heterogeneity in molecularsubtypes of gastric cancer

Gastric cancer is a complex disease that is affected by multiple genetic and environmental factors. For the precise diagnosis and effective treatment of gastric cancer, the heterogeneity of the disease must be simplified; one way to achieve this is by dividing the disease into subgroups. Toward this effort, recent advances in high-throughput sequencing technology have revealed four molecular subtypes of gastric cancer, which are classified as Epstein-Barr viruspositive, microsatellite instability, genomically stable, and chromosomal instability subtypes. We anticipate that this molecular subtyping will help to extend our knowledge for basic research purposes and will be valuable for clinical use. Here, we review the genomic and epigenomic heterogeneity of the four molecular subtypes of gastric cancer. We also describe a mutational meta-analysis and a reanalysis of DNA methylation that were performed using previously reported gastric cancer datasets.

First synthesis and in vitro biological assessment of isosideroxylin,6,8-dimethylgenistein and their analogues as nitric oxide production inhibition agents

A modular and efficient synthesis of the biologically significant C-methylisoflavones isosideroxylin（1）,6,8-dimethylgenistein（2） and their analogues（3-8） is established for the first *** synthesis is realized in 7-8 steps in overall yields of 16%-24%from commercially inexpensive phloroglucinol and features a high yielding Vilsmeier-Haack reaction,Friedel-Crafts acylation,Gammill＇s protocol and Suzuki coupling as the pivotal ***,these compounds evaluated for their inhibitory potency on the production of nitric oxide（NO） in lipopolysaccharide（LPS）-activated RAW-264.7 cells as an indicator of anti-inflammatory *** results showed that all the compounds decreased NO production in a dose-dependent manner without marked cytotoxicity and IC_（50） values are found in the range of 10.17-33.88 μmol/*** note,compounds 3 followed by 1,7 and 8 show comparable inhibitory activity with positive control（N-monomethyl-L-arginine,L-NMMA）.

Effects of Street-Bottom and Building-Roof Heating on Flow in Three-Dimensional Street Canyons

Using a computational fluid dynamics （CFD） model, the effects of street-bottom and building-roof heating on flow in three-dimensional street canyons are investigated. The building and street-canyon aspect ratios are one. In the presence of street-bottom heating, as the street-bottom heating intensity increases, the mean kinetic energy increases in the spanwise street canyon formed by the upwind and downwind buildings but decreases in the lower region of the streamwise street canyon. The increase in momentum due to buoyancy force intensifies mechanically induced flow in the spanwise street canyon. The vorticity in the spanwise street canyon strengthens. The temperature increase is not large because relatively cold above-roof-level air comes into the spanwise street canyon. In the presence of both street-bottom and building-roof heating, the mean kinetic energy rather decreases in the spanwise street canyon. This is caused by the decrease in horizontal flow speed at the roof level, which results in the weakening of the mean flow circulation in the spanwise street canyon. It is found that the vorticity in the spanwise street canyon weakens. The temperature increase is relatively large compared with that in the street-bottom heating case, because relatively warm above-roof-level air comes into the spanwise street canyon.

Hepatitis B viral load affects prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a complex disease that is dually challenging to treat due to underlying chronic liver disease in addition to the cancer *** prognosis of patients with HCC is determined by intrahepatic tumor status and reserved hepatic *** B virus(HBV)is an established major risk factor of HCC development,and HBV viral load is being increasingly recognized as a prognostic factor in the presence of established *** HBV viral load may affect the prognosis of HBV-related HCC patients in several ***,it is associated with more frequent recurrence of HBV-related HCC after ***,it is associated with more occurrence and severity of potentially life-threatening HBV ***,it is associated with more worsened liver function,which limits the therapeutic options for HBV-related ***,directly or indirectly,can induce *** patients with a high HBV DNA level and subsequent active hepatitis,adhesion molecules expressed on the sinusoidal cells are up-regulated and may increase intrahepatic *** progression after treatment can lead to a poor prognosis by reducing number of normal functioning ***,high HBV viral load can affect the prognosis of patientswith HCC by frequent recurrence after treatment for HCC and deterioration of hepatic function associated with HCC *** meta-analysis showed that antiviral treatment reduces HCC recurrence and liver-related mortality after curative therapy of *** the strong relationship between high HBV DNA load and poor survival outcome of HCC patients due to cancer progression,it is expected that long-term antiviral therapy results in the sustained HBV suppression,control of inflammation,reduction in HCC progression,and eventually in improved overall survival.

Combustion Characteristics of Solid Refuse Fuels from Different Waste Sources

In the production(as co-fuel or alone)of solid refuse fuel(SRF),knowledge about the characteristics of the raw materials is required for an ecofriendly and effective combustion *** are commonly produced by drying combustible waste and removing incombustible matter,resulting in a higher combustibility as compared to the original ***,the characteristics of SRFs may highly vary depending on where and from which materials they were ***,we investigated the characteristics of various SRFs using thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).As a TGA sample is commonly small,on the scale of milligrams,and,unlike homogeneous fuels,SRFs are heterogeneous,individual SRF samples analysed with this method may not represent the bulk material,and sample properties may vary significantly between ***,we further performed combustion experiments using a small-scale combustor and sample sizes from 1 to 10 *** optimise SRF combustor design and determine the SRF characteristics,proximate,elemental,heating value,TG,and differential thermogravimetric analyses were conducted,and weight losses and gas concentrations at different temperatures were measured upon *** lower heating values of the three analysed SRFs were 20,976,16,873,and 19,762 kJ/kg,and their Cl contents were 0.89,0.95,and 1.27 wt.%(legal criterion[Cl]<2.0 wt.%).TGA and small combustor experiments showed that complete weight loss was achieved below 500°***,CO was detected until 620°C.

Increasing concentrations of dietary threonine,tryptophan,and glycine improve growth performance and intestinal health with decreasing stress responses in broiler chickens raised under multiple stress conditions

The current study aimed to compare the effects of increasing concentrations of dietary threonine(Thr),tryptophan(Trp),and glycine(Gly)on growth performance,stress biomarkers,and intestinal function in broiler chickens under multiple stress *** hundred sixty broiler chickens at 21 d old were randomly allotted to 5 treatments with 8 *** in a positive control(PC)treatment were raised under low stock density(16.9 birds/m^(2) per cage)with recommended environmental conditions,whereas birds in 4 treatments were subjected to multiple stress conditions:a cyclic heat stress of 30±0.3℃ for 10 h and 23±0.2℃ for 14 h per day with high stock density(25.3 birds/m^(2) per cage).A basal diet was assigned to both PC and negative control(NC)*** additional diets were individually formulated to contain double concentrations of digestible Thr,Trp,or Gly+Ser compared with their concentrations in the basal *** experiment lasted for 14 *** showed that NC treatment had less growth performance(Pjejunal goblet cell counts(P=0.018),and trans-epithelial electrical resistance(TEER;P<0.001),but greater(P=0.026)feather corticosterone(CORT)concentrations than PC *** treatment showed the least(P<0.001)feed conversion ratio(FCR)among treatments under multiple stress ***,Trp,and Gly treatments had less(P=0.026)feather CORT concentrations,but had greater(P<0.001)TEER than NC *** conclusion,increasing concentrations of dietary Thr,Trp,or Gly improve the growth performance and intestinal health in broiler chickens with decreasing stress response under multiple stress conditions.

Two-dimensional(2D)character animation is one of the most important visual elements on which users’interest is focused in the game ***,2D character animation works in the game field are mostly performed manually in two dimensions,thus generating high production *** study proposes a generative adversarial network based production tool that can easily and quickly generate the sprite images of 2D ***,we proposed a methodology to create a synthetic dataset for training using images from the real world in the game resource production field where machine learning datasets are *** addition,we have enabled effective sprite generation while minimizing user input in the process of using the *** this end,we proposed a mixed input method with a small number of segmentations and skeletal bone *** proposed image-to-image translation network effectively generated sprite images from the user input images using the skeletal *** conducted an experiment regarding the number of images required and showed that 2D sprite resources can be generated even with a small number of segmentation inputs and one skeletal bone drawing.

We report a composite material with the high tribological performance,which consists of onedimensional SnO2 nanotubes(ST)and a high molecular weight poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)matrix in terms of *** of PVDF in N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF)resulted in a facile penetration of PVDF into the inner hollow voids of ST,leading to the close *** between PVDF and ST results in a beneficial effect on the chain arrangement of PVDF,providing anα-phase with better tribological *** ST incorporation,the friction coefficient decreased by 85.0%to 0.408,and the specific wear rate decreased by 69.1%to 0.412,demonstrating the pivotal role of ST as a self-lubricating material due to a large interactive area and PVDF chain rearrangement.
