Spices a.e defined a. a.y a.oma.ic condiment of pla.t origin used to a.ter the fla.or a.d a.oma.of foods. Besides fla.or a.d a.oma. ma.y spices ha.e a.tioxida.t a.tivity, ma.nly rela.ed to the presence in cloves of phenolic compounds, such a. fla.onoids, terpenoids a.d eugenol. In turn, the most common uses of gum a.a.ic a.e in the form of powder for a.dition to soft drink syrups, cuisine a.d ba.ed goods, specifica.ly to sta.ilize the texture of products, increa.e the viscosity of liquids a.d promote the lea.ening of ba.ed products (e.g., ca.es). Both eugenol, extra.ted from cloves, a.d gum a.a.ic, extra.ted from the ha.dened sap of two species of the a.a.ia.tree, a.e dieta.y constituents routinely consumed virtua.ly throughout the world. Both of them a.e a.so widely used medicina.ly to inhibit oxida.ive stress a.d genotoxicity. The prevention a.m of the study included groups: Ia. IIa. IIIa. Iva. V, VI, VII, VIII. Once a.week for 20 weeks, the controls received saline s.c. while the experimenta. groups received DMH a. 20 mg/kg s.c. During the same period a.d for a. a.ditiona. 9 weeks, the a.ima.s received either wa.er, 10% Ga. EUG, or 10% Ga.+ EUG by ga.a.e. The trea.ment a.m of the study included groups Ib, IIb, IIIb e IVb, IX, X, XI, XII). Once a.week for 20 weeks, the controls received saline s.c. while the experimenta. groups received DMH a. 20 mg/kg s.c. During the subsequent 9 weeks, the a.ima.s received either wa.er, 10% Ga. EUG or 10% Ga.+ EUG by ga.a.e. The novelty of this study is the investiga.ion of their use a.one a.d together for the prevention a.d trea.ment of experimenta. colorecta. ca.cinogenesis induced by dimethylhydra.ine. The incidence of Mycoba.terium a.ium complex pulmona.y disea.e (Ma.PD) ha. been globa.ly increa.ing. The present study a.ms to provide a.comprehensive a.a.ysis of clinica. cha.a.teristics a.d trea.ment response a.ong pa.ients in the a.a.on region of Bra.il a.d conduct a.retrospective cohort study a. a.prominent referra. hospita. in the Sta.e of Pa., Bra.il, from 2012 to 2020. The M. a.ium group represented 58.9% of ca.es, followed by M. intra.ellula.e (35.7%), M. colombiense (3.6%), a.d M. chima.ra.(1.8%). The ma.ority of pa.ients (73.2%) were fema.e a.d with a. a.era.e a.e of 63 yea.s. Prima.y clinica. ma.ifesta.ions included persistent cough a.d sputum production. The Cha.lson comorbidity index (CCI) a.era.ed 2.47, with 36.3% of pa.ients ha.ing a.CCI score equa. to higher tha. 3. Nota.ly, over 70% of pa.ients ha. received trea.ment for pulmona.y tuberculosis before initia.ing trea.ment for Ma. infection. The fibroca.ita.y ra.iologic form wa. the most preva.ent (55.4%), frequently exhibiting a.bila.era. distribution (53.6%). a.timicrobia. susceptibility revea.ed a.significa.t preva.ence of Ma. resista.ce to drugs in the thera.eutic regimen. Despite this, most of the pa.ients experienced clinica. improvement (50%). In conclusion, this study highlights a.higher preva.ence of Ma. infections a.ong middle-a.ed women, with a.history of pulmona.y tuberculosis trea.ment a.d presenting the fibroca.ita.y ra.iologica. form wa. predomina.t.
