Comparative antimicrobial activity in Murrah buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) Heifers’ urine and urine distillate

Background:Murrah buffalo is a breed of water buffalo(Bubalus bubalis)reared for milk and meat,especially in Northern *** are so many studies on the antimicrobial potential of the cow(Bos indicus)urine but buffalo urine has rarely been *** study was aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity in whole buffalo urine and its ***:Urine specimens were collected from seven Murrah buffalo heifers in the morning over three days from all seven heifers and distillated to prepare urine distillate(UD).The antimicrobial activity was determined through 96 well microplate method diluting(1:1)urine and UD in Mueller Hinton liquid medium against 919 microbial strains belonging to 148 species of 49 genera(Candia,11 genera of Gram+ve bacteria,37 genera of Gram-ve bacteria).The test strains were taken from the repository,revived and tested for purity before *** test strains were of clinical origin(372),environmental origin(496)and also from reference strain repositories(51).Results:Of the 919 test strains,a total of 57.89%and 56.04%of the tested strains were susceptible to UD and urine,*** was a no significant(p>0.4)difference in the antimicrobial activity of UD and urine against 919 strains of microbes,regardless of their genus,species,and Gram staining ***,there was no significant(p>0.4)difference between the susceptibility of bacterial and Candida strains to UD or ***,strains of clinical origin were more often resistant to buffalo UD and urine(p0.05).A significantly(p<0.01)higher proportion of reference strains was susceptible to UD and urine than microbial strains of clinical and environmental *** buffalo urine and UD,the most susceptible strains were Stenotrophomonas maltophilia(13/13)followed by Citrobacter freundii(8/10);Salmonella enterica ***(21/27),Geobacillus stearothermo

Effective Correlation of Two Holes in a Semimagnetic Quantum Well Wire: Influence of Shape of Confining Potential on Coulomb Interaction

The hole-hole interaction(Ehh) has been considered in a CdTe/Cd1-x Mnx Te Semimagnetic Quantum Well Wire(SQWW). The influence of the shape of the confining potential like square well and parabolic well type on the binding energy of an acceptor impurity with two holes and their Coulomb interaction between them has been studied for various impurity locations. Magnetic field has been used as a probe to understand the carrier-carrier correlation in such Quasi 1-Dimensional QWW since it alters the strength of the confining potential tremendously. In order to show the significance of the correlation between the two holes, the calculations have been done with and without including the correlation effect in the ground state wavefunction of the hyderogenic acceptor impurity and the results have been compared. The expectation value of the Hamiltonian, H, is minimized variationaly in the effective mass approximation through which(Ehh) has been obtained.

Effect of forest fire on tree diversity and regeneration potential in a tropical dry deciduous forest of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Western Ghats, India

Introduction:The study was conducted in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve,in the Western Ghats to understand the effect of a single fire event on tree diversity and regeneration *** forest patches were selected which were unburned,2-year-old burn,5-year-old burn,and 15-year-old *** 0.1 ha square plots were laid randomly in all four patches and analyzed for tree diversity,stand structure,and regeneration of tree ***:A total of 4129 individuals of tree species were recorded in field surveys,comprising 3474 seedlings,121 saplings,and 534 ***,40 tree species were recorded in study plots,from which 28 species were seedlings,16 species were saplings,and 37 species were at tree ***:Tree diversity decreased in 2-year-old and 5-year-old burnt plots and was reached to the level of unburnt plots in 15 years of *** of small size classes started increasing after the *** density increased linearly in subsequent years after fire but sapling and tree density recorded less than control in B2 but was higher in B5 and *** overall fire affected diversity,but regeneration showed a positive trend.

This paper elaborates a nonlinear fluidic low frequency vibration isolator designed with the characteristics of quasi-zero stiffness(QZS).The existing model of QZS vibration isolator enhances amplitude of vibration and attenuating vibration *** concern with displacement plays a vital role in the performance and instability of oblique spring setup reduces the isolator performance in horizontal non-nominal loads,in this accordance;this paper associates double acting hydraulic cylinder(fluidic actuators in short)in oblique and helical coil *** approximate expression of unique analytical relationship between the stiffness of vertical spring and bulk modulus of the fluid is derived for Quasi–Zero Stiffness Non-Linear Vibration Isolator with Fluidic Actuators(NLVIFA in short)system and the force transmissibility is formulated and damping ratio are discussed for characteristic *** analysis carried out and compared with analytical results and an experimental prototype is developed and *** performance of the NLVIFA reduces the external embarrassment more at low frequencies and the series of experimental studies showing that the soft nonlinearity causes limitation in the resonant frequency thereupon the isolation will be enhanced and NLVIFA greatly outperform some other type of nonlinear isolators.

Chinese Medicines and Bioactive Compounds for the Treatment of Stroke

Stroke is an important cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide but effective therapeutic strategy for the prevention of brain injury in patients with cerebral ischemia is lacking. Although tissue plasminogen activator has been used to treat stroke patients, this therapeutic strategy is confronted with ill side effects and is limited to patients within 3 h of a stroke. Due to the complexity of the events and the disappointing results from single agent trials, the combination of thrombolytic therapy and effective neural protection therapy may be an alternative strategy for patients with cerebral ischemia. Chinese medicine （CM） is the most widely practiced form of herbalism worldwide, as it is a sophisticated system of medical theory and practice that is specifically different from Western medicine. Most traditional therapeutic formulations consist of a combination of several drugs. The combination of multiple drugs is thought to maximize therapeutic efficacy by facilitating synergistic actionsand preventing possible adverse effects while at the same time marking at multiple targets. CM has been labeled in ancient medicine systems as a treatment for various diseases associated with stroke. This review summarizes various CMs, bioactive compounds and their effects on cerebral ischemia.

Climate change and groundwater conditions in the Mekong Region–A review

Changes in the climatic system introduce uncertainties in the supply and management of water resources. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC) predicts an increase of 2 to 4 °C over the next 100 years. Temperature increases will impact the hydrologic cycle by directly increasing the evaporation of surface water sources. Consequently, changes in precipitation will indirectly impact the flux and storage of water in surface and subsurface reservoirs(i.e., lakes, soil moisture, groundwater, etc.). In addition, increases in temperature contribute to increases in the sea level, which may lead to sea water intrusions, water quality deterioration, potable water shortages, etc. Climate change has direct impacts on the surface water and the control of storage in rivers, lakes and reservoirs, which indirectly controls the groundwater recharge process. The main and direct impact of climate change on groundwater is changes in the volume and distribution of groundwater recharge. The impact of climate change on groundwater resources requires reliable forecasting of changes in the major climatic variables and accurate estimations of groundwater recharge. A number of Global Climate Models(GCMs) are available for understanding climate and projecting climate *** GCMs can be downscaled to a basin scale, and when they are coupled with relevant hydrological models, the output of these coupled models can be used to quantify the groundwater recharge, which will facilitate the adoption of appropriate adaptation strategies under the impact of climate change.

New Fuzzy Fractional Epidemic Model Involving Death Population

In this research,we propose a new change in classical epidemic models by including the change in the rate of death in the overall *** existing models like Susceptible-Infected-Recovered(SIR)and Susceptible-Infected-Recovered-Susceptible(SIRS)include the death rate as one of the parameters to estimate the change in susceptible,infected and recovered ***,because of the deficiencies in immunity,even the ordinary flu could cause *** people’s disease resistance is strong,then serious diseases may not result in *** classical model always assumes a closed system where there is no new birth or death,no immigration or emigration,while in reality,such assumptions are not ***,the classical epidemic model does not report the change in population due to death caused by a *** this study,we try to incorporate the rate of change in the population of death caused by a disease,where the model is framed to reduce the curve of death along with the susceptible and infected *** the rate of change turned out to be very small,we have tried to estimate it ***,the model is defined using fuzzy logic and is solved by two different methods:a Laplace Adomian decomposition method(LADM)and a differential transform method(DTM)for an arbitrary order α.To test its accuracy,we compared the results of both DTM and LADM with the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method(RKM-4)at α=1.
