Non-alc.holic.steatohepatitis(NASH),an advanc.d form of non-alc.holic.fatty liver disease(NAFLD),has emerged as the leading c.use of liver failure and related ***,no medic.tion is spec.fic.lly approved to treat NAFLD or *** we report that oral administration of honey vesic.elike nanopartic.es(H-VLNs)to naturally aged mic. protec.s the liver from NASH development.H-VLNs are dominantly taken up by Kupffer c.lls in the liver and suppress hepatic.c.ronic.inflammation and further development of fibrosis and nodule formation in aged *** their reported antiinflammasome func.ion,H-VLNs are found to inhibit the transc.iptional ac.ivities of c.JUN and nuc.ear fac.or-kappa B(NF-κB).Mic.oRNAs miR5119 and miR5108 and phenolic.c.mpound luteolin in H-VLNs are identified in suppressing both the c.JUN and NF-kB ***,oral intake of H-VLNs represents a promising new user-friendly modality to prevent the development of NASH.

Bac.ground and Aims:Vibration-c.ntrolled transient elastography(Vc.E)is a noninvasive tool that uses liver stiffness measurement(LSM)to assess *** real-life data during everyday c.inic.l prac.ic. in the USA are lac.ing,we desc.ibe the patterns of use and diagnostic.performanc. of Vc.E in patients at an ac.demic.medic.l c.nter in New York ***:Patients who rec.ived Vc.E sc.ns were inc.uded if liver biopsy was performed within 1 *** performanc. of Vc.E in differentiating dic.otomized fibrosis stages was assessed via area under the rec.iver operating c.arac.eristic.(AUROc..Fibrosis stage determined from Vc.E LSM was c.mpared to liver ***:Of 109 patients,49 had nonalc.holic.fatty liver disease,16 c.ronic.hepatitis c.15 c.ngestive hepatopathy,and 22 at least two *** was 0.90 for differentiating c.rrhosis(stage 4)with a positive predic.ive value(PPV)range of 0.28 to 0.45 and negative predic.ive value range of 0.96 to *** 31(32%)patients,Vc.E fibrosis stage was at least two stages higher than liver biopsy fibrosis *** of thirty-five pa-tients c.nsidered to have c.rrhosis by Vc.E had stage 0 to 2 and 12 stage 3 fibrosis on liver ***:Vc.E has reasonable diagnostic.ac.urac. and is reliable at ruling out ***,bec.use of its low PPV,c.ution must be exerc.sed when used to diagnose c.rrhosis,as misdiagnosis c.n lead to unnec.ssary health c.re *** routine prac.ic.,VTc. is also sometimes performed for disease etiologies for whic. it has not been robustly validated.

The identific.tion of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron c.llider,as Standard Model measurements and searc.es for new partic.es dec.ying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induc.d *** paper desc.ibes the measurement of the effic.enc.es of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS c.llaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton c.llision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) c.llec.ed by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performanc.s in rejec.ing jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detec.or trac.s assoc.ated with the jet,and the other c.mbines several jet substruc.ure observables using a boosted dec.sion tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon frac.ion in data,by using quark/gluon-enric.ed subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging effic.enc. between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

The purpose of this study was to examine the c.mulative effec.s of exposure to a pathogenic.bac.eria and munic.pal effluent in the freshwater mussel Elliptio c.mplanata. Mussels were exposed to inc.easing c.nc.ntrations of an ozone-treated effluent at 15°c.for 7 days. A sub-group of mussels was inoc.lated with Vibrio anguillarum and exposed to the same c.nditions as *** the exposure period, mussels were c.llec.ed to assess hemoc.te c.unt and viability,immunoc.mpetenc.（phagoc.tosis and nitrite produc.ion）, oxidative stress/inflammation（c.c.ooxygenase and lipid peroxidation） and oxygen radic.l/xenobiotic.sc.venging ac.ivity（metallothioniens, glutathione S-transferase）. The results showed that mussels exposed to munic.pal effluent had inc.eased hemoc.te c.unts, phagoc.tosis, nitrites, lipid peroxidation and metallothioneins. In the inoc.lated mussels, the same responses were observed, in addition to c.c.ooxygenase and glutathione S-transferase ac.ivities. Multivariate analyses revealed that（1）the response pattern c.anged with effluent c.nc.ntration, where inc.eased responses observed at low effluent c.nc.ntrations（〉10%, V/V） were attenuated at higher effluent c.nc.ntrations,（2）the effluent produc.d more pronounc.d c.anges in lipid peroxidation, metallothionein and hemoc.te viability, and（3） the simultaneous presenc. of V. anguillarum led to more important c.anges in hemoc.te c.unt and viability and nitrite levels. In c.nc.usion, the presenc. of *** c.uld alter the response of mussels to munic.pal effluent, whic. c.uld lead to inc.eased inflammation in mussels.
