In this paper,we aim to illustrate the concept of mutually trustworthy human-machine knowledge automation(HM-KA)as the technical mechanism of hybrid augmented intelligence(HAI)based complex system cognition,management,and control(CMC).We describe the historical development of complex system science and analyze the limitations of human intelligence and machine *** need for using human-machine HAI in complex systems is then explained in *** concept of“mutually trustworthy HM-KA”mechanism is proposed to tackle the CMC challenge,and its technical procedure and pathway are demonstrated using an example of corrective control in bulk power grid *** is expected that the proposed mutually trustworthy HM-KA concept can provide a novel and canonical mechanism and benefit real-world practices of complex system CMC.

Objective: To define the analgesic regimen given following tonsillectomy in a large ENT department and correlate this with readmission for secondary complications. Methods: We performed a retrospective case note review of patients undergoing tonsillectomy within a six month period. demographic information and relevant case information was collected including operative details, discharge medication and readmission details. Results: 125 patients underwent tonsillectomy during the period. 17 different post-operative analgesic regimens were identified with the most common being a paracetamol and ibuprofen combination (26.4%). 13 patients (10.4%) were readmitted following discharge from hospital post-operatively, four (3.2%) for issues related to pain. There was no correlation between analgesic regimens and readmission. Conclusion: No apparent link between readmission and analgesic regimen was identified. The vast variation of analgesic regimens used has prompted development of a formal step-based analgesic protocol.

BACKGROUNd Rotavirus is still a significant contributing morbidity and mortality in pediatric *** To look at clinical signs and symptoms and laboratory findings that can predict rotavirus gastroenteritis compared to non-rotavirus *** This was a cross-sectional study with medical records obtained from december 2015 to december *** criteria for this study include all hospitalised pediatric patients(0-18 years old)diagnosed with suspected rotavirus *** receiver operating curve and Hosmer-Lemeshow test would be used to assess the final prediction findings'calibration(goodness of fit)and discrimination *** This study included 267 participants with 187(70%)rotavirus-diarrhea *** patients were primarily male in both rotavirus(65.2%)and non-rotavirus(62.5%)*** median age is 1.33 years old(0.08-17.67 years old).Multivariate analysis shows that wet season(OR_(adj)=2.5;95%CI:1.3-4.8,Padj=0.006),length of stay(LOS)≥3 days(OR_(adj)=5.1;95%CI:1.4-4.8,Padj=0.015),presence of abdominal pain(OR_(adj)=3.0;95%CI:1.3-6.8,Padj=0.007),severe dehydration(OR_(adj)=2.9;95%CI:1.1-7.9,Padj=0.034),abnormal white blood cell counts(OR_(adj)=2.8;95%CI:1.3-6.0,Padj=0.006),abnormal random blood glucose(OR_(adj)=2.3;95%CI:1.2-4.4,Padj=0.018)and presence of fecal leukocytes(OR_(adj)=4.1,95%CI:1.7-9.5,Padj=0.001)are predictors of rotavirus *** area under the curve for this model is 0.819(95%CI:0.746-0.878,P valuedel has good *** Wet season,LOS≥3 d,presence of abdominal pain,severe dehydration,abnormal white blood cell counts,abnormal random blood glucose,and presence of fecal leukocytes predict rotavirus diarrhea.

Pelvic instrumentation for neuromuscular scoliosis has been part of neuromuscular scoliosis surgery since the era of the Luque Galveston construct. Unit Rod(Medtronic Sofamor-danek, Nashville, TN) instrumentation brought with it the concept of cantilever correction by placing the implants in the pelvis and then gradually bringing the rod to the spine by sequentially tightening the sublaminar wires, with the goal of creating a level pelvis over a straight spine. More recently surgeons have utilized pedicle screw constructs in which the corrective strategies have varied. Challenges with pelvic fixation using iliac screws linked to the spinal rod have led to the development of the S2-alariliac technique(S2 AI) in which the spinal rod connects to the pelvic screw. The screw is placed in the S2 ala, crosses the sacro-iliac joint and into the ilium through a large column of supra-acetabular bone. This column is the same area used for anterior inferior iliac spine external fixation frames used in trauma surgery. S2 AI screw placement can be technically difficult and can require experienced radiology technologists to provide the appropriate views. Additionally, although the technique was originally described being placed via freehand technique with intra-operative flouroscopy, the freehand technique suffers from the anatomic anomalies present in the pelvis in neuromuscular scoliosis. As such, we prefer to place them using intra-operative navigation for all pediatric spinal deformity cases. Below in detail we report our intra-operative technique and an illustrative case example.

Bioaerosol emissions from animal feeding operation (AFO) facilities are of increasing interest due to the magnitude of the emissions and their potential health effect on local communities. There is limited information about fate and transport of AFO bioaerosol emissions. In this study, concentrations of airborne bacteria and fungi were measured at four ambient stations in four wind directions surrounding an egg production farm through winter, spring and summer using Andersen six-stage samplers. Mean concentrations of ambient bacteria and fungi ranged from 8.7 × 102 CFU m-3 to 1.3 × 103 CFU m-3 and from 2.8 × 102 CFU m-3 to 1.4 × 103 CFU m-3, respectively. Ambient bacterial concentrations were not significantly different over the seasons, while ambient fungal concentrations were the highest in summer and the lowest in winter. There were significant differences between downwind and upwind bacterial concentrations (p downwind bacterial and fungal concentrations responded differently to the influencing factors. Bacterial concentrations were quadratically correlated with wind vector (combined effects of wind speed and direction) and emission rate, were positively correlated with temperature, and were negatively correlated with solar radiation. Fungal concentrations were positively correlated with temperature, RH, and emission rate, and were negatively correlated with wind vector.
