Background:Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors(ACEi)and angiotensin-II receptor blockers(ARB),the most commonly prescribed antihypertensive medications,counter renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system(RAAS)activation via induction of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)*** that ACE2 is the functional receptor for SARS-CoV-2 entry into host cells,the association of ACEi and ARB with COVId-19 outcomes needs thorough ***:We conducted retrospective analyses using both unmatched and propensity score(PS)-matched cohorts on electronic health records(EHRs)to assess the impact of RAAS inhibitors on the risk of receiving invasive mechanical ventilation(IMV)and 30-day mortality among hospitalized COVId-19 ***,we investigated the immune cell gene expression profiles of hospitalized COVId-19 patients with prior use of antihypertensive treatments from an observational prospective ***:The retrospective analysis revealed that there was no increased risk associated with either ACEi or ARB *** fact,the use of ACEi showed decreased risk for *** analyses using PS-matched cohorts suggested no significant relationship between RAAS inhibitors with a hospital stay and in-hospital mortality compared to non-RAAS medications and patients not on antihypertensive *** the analysis of gene expression profiles,we observed a noticeable up-regulation in the expression of 1L1R2(an anti-inflammatory receptor)and RETN(an immunosuppressive marker)genes in monocytes among prior users of ACE ***:Overall,the findings do not support the discontinuation of ACEi or ARB treatment and suggest that ACEi may moderate the COVId-19 hyperinflammatory response.

H_(2)mediated mixed culture microbial electrosynthesis for high titer acetate production from CO_(2)

Microbial electrosynthesis(MES)converts CO_(2)into value-added products such as volatile fatty acids(VFAs)with minimal energy use,but low production titer has limited scale-up and *** electron transfer via H_(2)on the MES cathode has shown a higher conversion rate than the direct biofilm-based approach,as it is tunable via cathode potential control and accelerates electrosynthesis from CO_(2).Here we report high acetate titers can be achieved via improved in situ H_(2)supply by nickel foam decorated carbon felt cathode in mixed community MES *** concentration of 12.5 g L^(-1)was observed in 14 days with nickel-carbon cathode at a poised potential of-0.89 V(*** hydrogen electrode,SHE),which was much higher than cathodes using stainless steel(5.2 g L^(-1))or carbon felt alone(1.7 g L^(-1))with the same projected surface area.A higher acetate concentration of 16.0 g L^(-1)in the cathode was achieved over long-term operation for 32 days,but crossover was observed in batch operation,as additional acetate(5.8 g L^(-1))was also found in the abiotic anode *** observed the low Faradaic efficiencies in acetate production,attributed to partial H_(2)utilization for *** selective acetate production with high titer demonstrated in this study shows the H_(2)-mediated electron transfer with common cathode materials carries good promise in MES development.

针对结合星地观测与模型定量模拟消光性气溶胶光学特性及黑碳质量空间分布这一热点问题,利用TROPOMI卫星紫外波段观测数据与AERONET地基观测数据,基于“核-壳”假设下的米散射模型提出了一种准确量化黑碳气溶胶质量空间分布的模拟方法,并对北京、中国香港、首尔三个站点的模拟结果进行分析与验证。多源数据约束后米散射模型模拟得到的结果显示:北京的吸收系数在0.04~0.13之间,中国香港的吸收系数整体小于0.08,首尔的吸收系数介于0.02~0.06之间。计算得到的黑碳气溶胶柱内质量空间分布结果显示:北京站黑碳气溶胶柱内质量在200~600 kg/grid之间,中国香港站黑碳气溶胶柱内质量在180~650 kg/grid之间,首尔站黑碳气溶胶柱内质量在300 kg/grid以下。结合卡尔曼滤波排放清单与一阶箱模型对黑碳气溶胶柱内质量结果进行间接验证,计算得到的黑碳气溶胶生命周期为1~4 d不等,符合其在大气中的真实状态,说明结果具有一定可靠性。通过对比加入TROPOMI紫外波段卫星观测数据前后对模型进行约束得到的粒径分布及吸收系数结果的差异发现:加入紫外波段观测数据对模拟结果具有一定增强作用。所提方法模拟结果良好,方案具有一定应用潜力。

Here we report the successful synthesis of large single crystals of triangular frustrated PrMgAl_(11)O_(19)using the optical floating zone *** crystal x-ray diffraction(XRd)measurements unveiled the presence of quenched disorder within the mirror plane,specifically~7%of Pr ions deviating from the ideal 2d site towards the 6h *** susceptibility measurements revealed an Ising anisotropy with the c-axis being the easy *** a large spin–spin interaction that develops below~10 K and considerable site disorder,the spins do not order or freeze down to at least 50 *** availability of large single crystals offers a distinct opportunity to investigate the exotic magnetic state on a triangular lattice with an easy axis out of the plane.

目的分析单孔腹腔镜胃袖状切除术(SPSG)在单中心临床应用的初步经验与结果,探讨SPSG在高BMI病人中应用的安全性和有效性。方法回顾性分析2023年2月至2024年6月复旦大学附属华东医院行SPSG的265例病人的临床资料。所有纳入病人分为BMI≥50组(21例)、40≤BMId,明显长于40≤BMId]和BMId],差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论高BMI并不是SPSG的绝对禁忌证,充分的术前评估、准备及恰当的术中处置对于SPSG的规范开展具有重要意义。

Locoregionally advanced laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers(LA-LHCs)are traditionally treated with surgery followed by postoperative radiotherapy,which impairs speech and swallowing functions and reduces the quality of life.^(1,2)The use of induction chemotherapy(IC)as a larynxpreserving approach for LA-LHCs has been verified and refined.^(3)However,the short-term tumor response to IC varies,non-responders usually show poor survival and little benefit.

Excitons,bound electron–hole pairs,in two-dimensional hybrid organic inorganic perovskites(2d HOIPs)are capable of forming hybrid light-matter states known as exciton-polaritons(E–Ps)when the excitonic medium is confined in an optical *** the case of 2d HOIPs,they can self-hybridize into E–Ps at specific thicknesses of the HOIP crystals that form a resonant optical cavity with the ***,the fundamental properties of these self-hybridized E–Ps in 2d HOIPs,including their role in ultrafast energy and/or charge transfer at interfaces,remain ***,we demonstrate that>0.5µm thick 2d HOIP crystals on Au substrates are capable of supporting multiple-orders of self-hybridized E–P *** E–Ps have high Q factors(>100)and modulate the optical dispersion for the crystal to enhance sub-gap absorption and *** varying excitation energy and ultrafast measurements,we also confirm energy transfer from higher energy E–Ps to lower energy E–***,we also demonstrate that E–Ps are capable of charge transport and transfer at *** findings provide new insights into charge and energy transfer in E–Ps opening new opportunities towards their manipulation for polaritonic devices.

The introduction of alleles into commercial crop breeding pipelines is both time consuming and *** technologies that are disrupting traditional breeding processes are doubled haploid(dH)breeding and genome editing(GE).Recently,these techniques were combined into a GE trait delivery system called HI-Edit(Haploid Inducer-Edit).In HI-Edit,the pollen of a haploid inducer line is reprogrammed to deliver GE traits to any variety,obviating recurrent *** HI-Edit to operate at scale,an efficient transformable HI line is needed,but most maize varieties are recalcitrant to transformation,and haploid inducers are especially difficult to transform given their aberrant reproductive *** marker assisted selection and a three-tiered testing scheme,we report the development of new Iodent and Stiff Stalk maize germplasm that are transformable,have high haploid induction rates,and exhibit a robust,genetically-dominant anthocyanin native trait that may be used for rapid haploid *** show that transformation of these elite‘‘HI-Edit”lines is enhanced using the BABYBOOM and WUSCHEL morphogenetic ***,we evaluate the HI-Edit performance of one of the lines against both Stiff Stalk and non-Stiff Stalk *** strategy and results of this study should facilitate the development of commercially scalable HI-Edit systems in diverse crops.
