Southeastern wildrye (Elymus glabriflorus, Vasey ex l.H. Dewey) is a cool-season, perennial grass native to southeastern United States. Recently, there is a growing interest in its development as a grazing and haying forage crop due to its wide area of adaptation across this region. Consequently, there is a great need for the evaluation of its forage quality by rapid, but accurate analytical methods like Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS). In this study, acceptable NIRS calibration models were developed for: dry matter, DM (n = 113, R2 = 0.904, RSCD = 2.54, RSCIQ = 4.65);crude protein, CP (n = 113, R2 = 0.974, RSCD = 5.16, RSCIQ = 5.92);acid detergent fiber, ADF (n = 116, R2 = 0.896, RSCD = 2.35, RSCIQ = 1.28);neutral detergent fiber, NDF (n = 118, R2 = 0.934, RSCD = 2.53, RSCIQ = 3.38);digestible dry matter, DDM (n = 116, R2 = 0.895, RSCD = 2.36, RSCIQ = 1.35);dry matter intake, DMI (n = 115, R2 = 0.924, RSCD = 2.40, RSCIQ = 2.53);and relative feed value, RFV (n = 114, R2 = 0.932, RSCD = 2.94, RSCIQ = 2.81). Prediction of independent validation sets yielded good agreement between the NIRS predicted values and the laboratory reference values for each of: DM (n = 53, R2 = 0.831, RPD = 2.45, RPIQ = 4.24);CP (n = 57, R2 = 0.967, RPD = 5.37, RPIQ = 7.16);ADF (n = 49, R2 = 0.895, RPD = 2.97, RPIQ = 1.51);NDF (n = 53, R2 = 0.928, RPD = 3.75, RPIQ = 4.22);digestible dry matter, DDM (n = 55, R2 = 0.860, RSCD = 265, RSCIQ = 1.15);dry matter intake, DMI (n = 156, R2 = 0.845, RSCD = 2.48, RSCIQ = 2.11);and relative feed value, RFV (n = 55, R2 = 0.916, RSCD = 3.45, RSCIQ = 3.04) contents, indicating that all seven calibration models had good quantitative information. Thermogelling hydrogels,such as poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)[P(NiPAAm)],provide tunable constructs leveraged in many regenerative biomaterial ***,our lab developed the crosslinker poly(glycolic acid)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(glycolic acid)-di(but-2-yne-1,4-dithiol),which crosslinks P(NiPAAm-co-glycidyl methacrylate)via thiol-epoxy reaction and can be functionalized with azide-terminated peptides via alkyne-azide click *** study’s aim was to evaluate the impact of peptides on the physicochemical properties of the *** physicochemical properties of the hydrogels including the lower critical solution temperature,crosslinking times,swelling,degradation,peptide release and cytocompatibility were *** gels bearing peptides increased equilibrium swelling indicating hydrophilicity of the hydrogel *** sol fractions were found for all groups,indicating that inclusion of peptides does not impact ***,the inclusion of a matrix metalloproteinase-sensitive peptide allowed elucidation of whether release of peptides from the network was driven by hydrolysis or enzymatic *** hydrophilicity of the network determined by the swelling behavior was demonstrated to be the most important factor in dictating hydrogel behavior over *** study demonstrates the importance of characterizing the impact of additives on the physicochemical properties of *** characteristics are key in determining design considerations for future in vitro and in vivo studies for tissue regeneration.

Observations of tropical cyclones(TC)from aircraft and in situ platforms provide critical and unique information for analyzing and forecasting TC intensity,structure,track,and their associated *** report,prepared for the tenth International Workshop on Tropical Cyclones(IWTC-10),discusses the data collected around the world in TCs over the past four years since the IWTC-9,improvements to observing techniques,new instruments designed to achieve sustained and targeted atmospheric and oceanic observations,and select research results related to these *** the Atlantic and Eastern and Central Pacific basins,changes to operational aircraft reconnaissance are discussed along with several of the research field campaigns that have taken place *** changes in the use and impact of these aircraft observations in numerical weather prediction models are also provided along with updates on some of the experimental aircraft *** from three field campaigns in the Western Pacific basin are also *** of in-situ data collected within recent TCs such as Hurricane Ian(2022),also demonstrate that new,emerging technologies and observation strategies reviewed in this report,definitely have the potential to further improve ocean-atmosphere coupled intensity forecasts.

目的该前瞻性初步研究的目的是比较脱氧胸腺嘧啶核苷（FlT）-PET/CT显像与脱氧葡萄糖（FDG）-PET/CT显像相比在早期判断食管癌新辅助放化疗疗效上的潜能。方法 5例活组织检查证实食管腺癌的患者在微创食管切除术前行新辅助放化疗。根据放化疗后病灶组织学检测结果,使用Mandard等的分类标准把患者分成病理学有效组和无效组。所有患者在间隔48 h内行FlT-PET/CT显像和FDG-PET/CT显像,显像时间为注药后1 h。以上显像共做3次:（1）新辅助放化疗前;（2）放化疗中;（3）放化疗后。基于显像结果的疗效判断用治疗前后FlT-PET和FDG-PET显像的最大标准摄取值(SUV;)变化（ASUV）来表示。术后分析PET显像结果和病理结果间的关系。结果治疗前所有肿瘤病灶均能摄取FDG和FlT,但FlT摄取低于FDG摄取。新辅助放化疗后,病理有效组（n=3）和无效组（n=2）均可见FDG和FlT摄取降低。放化疗中显像结果发现,病理有效组平均肿瘤FlT摄取的降低（ASUV=-55%）与无效组FlT摄取的降低（△SUV=-29%）间差异有统计学意义（P=0.007）,而FDG摄取降低间的差异无统计学意义（病理有效组平均△SUV=-39%,无效组△SUV=-31%;P=0.74）。放化疗后显像结果发现,病理有效组肿瘤FlT摄取的降低ASUV=-62%,无效组△SUV=-57%,两者间差异无统计学意义（P=0.54）,而FDG摄取降低间的差异接近有统计学意义（有效组△SUV=-74%,无效组△SUV=-52%;P=0.06）。结论该前瞻性初步研究结果发现,肿瘤早期FlT摄取改变也许比FDG能更好地判断食管腺癌对新辅助放化疗的疗效。这些初步结果表明,有必要进行更多病例的FlT-PET/CT显像,以确认其价值。

The Effect of Non-Invasive Goal Directed Fluid Administration on Graft Function in Deceased Donor Renal Transplantation: A Pilot Study

Background: Non-invasive goal directed fluid therapy during deceased donor renal transplant (CRT) may reduce the incidence of delayed graft function. Plethysmograph Variability Index (PVI) has been shown to predict fluid responsiveness during surgery. This pilot study evaluated the feasibility of goal directed fluid administration protocol based upon PVI studying the incidence of delayed graft function (DGF) in renal transplant recipients. Methods: Twenty patients underwent primary CRT. The Control group received intravenous fluid (IVF) at a calculated constant rate. The Treatment group received a baseline IVF infusion throughout the surgery. PVI values greater than 13% were treated with 250 ml boluses of IVF. Primary end point was DGF;total IVF administration and urinary biomarker NGAl levels were secondary endpoints. Results: Treatment group at every time point received significantly less IVF. There was no significant difference in incidence of DGF between the groups. 2 patients in the Control group and 6 in the Treatment group developed DGF. NGAl was not associated with the group assignment or total IVF given (p lusions: The effectiveness of goal directed fluid therapy with non-invasive dynamic parameters has not been validated in renal transplant surgery and larger prospective studies are needed to determine its utility in renal transplantation.
