通过在迪纳拉山脉和潘诺尼亚盆地西南交界带进行被动源地震实验,确定了地壳结构和波速不连续面。实验目的是确定亚得里亚海微板块与作为欧洲板块一部分的潘诺尼亚地块的关系。大部分流动台站沿着Alp07剖面(主动源ALP 2002项目的一部分)布设在克罗地亚。该剖面从伊斯特拉半岛到德拉瓦河沿线呈西西南-东东南向延伸约300km。利用P波接收函数方法分析测线上13个临时地震台站的远震记录。Alp07剖面得到了两种特征接收函数(RF),分属于迪纳拉和潘诺尼亚地壳,交界带则包含两种类型。迪纳拉型地壳主要包含三组地壳不连续面:沉积基底、壳内不连续面和莫霍不连续面,而潘诺尼亚类型地壳仅包含两组不连续界面。在潘诺尼亚型地壳中并未观测到壳内不连续面,因此认为潘诺尼亚盆地为单层地壳结构。应用接收函数正演模拟和H-κ叠加两种分析方法开展了地壳结构研究,并将该结果与Alp07剖面主动源折射地震结果进行了比较。接收函数模拟得到了可靠的莫霍面深度结果,与Alp07剖面的地震折射结果相一致,即潘诺尼亚区域地壳特征为简单地壳结构,波速较低(VP在5.9~6.2km/s)。迪纳拉及其周缘,由于地壳结构更为复杂,接收函数模拟得到莫霍面深度较Alp07剖面更大,高达15%。受短周期台站数据频带限制,利用H-κ叠加方法计算得到的莫霍面深度在较大范围内(±13km)变化。通过与先前所有结果进行对比,排除了差异较大的5个台站的结果,而与Alp07剖面附近的莫霍不连续面相比,其他7个台站莫霍面深度差异在15%内变化。

G-quadruplex formation of oligonucleotides containing ALS and FTD related GGGGCC repeat

A largely increased number of GGGGCC repeats located in the non-coding region of C9orf72 gene have been identified as the leading cause of two related neurological disorders, familial amyotrophic lateral sclero- sis （ALS） and frontotemporal dementia （FTD）. We examined G-quadruplex forming ability of GGGGCC- repeat containing oligonucleotides with four guanine tracts chosen as the smallest possible model to form a unimolecular G-quadruplex. These oligonucleotides are readily to folded into G-quadruplexes in the presence of K~ ions. However, the formation of multiple structures makes structural analysis challenging and time consuming. We observed that flanking sequences on 5＇- and 3＇-ends as well as mutations of loop residues have a profound effect on folding. Sequence d[（GaC2）3G4] was chosen for further scrutiny and optimization of nuclear magnetic resonance （NMR） spectroscopic properties with dG to 8Br-dG substitutions at specific positions in the sequence under different folding conditions. Expectedly, folding into desired predominant topology is facilitated when sub- stituted residue adopted a syn conformation in the naturally-occurring structure. Single dG to 8Br-dG sub- stitution at position 21 and fine tuning of folding conditions facilitate folding of d[（G4C2）3GG^BrGG] into （mostly） a single G-quadruplex, and thus enable determi- nation of its high-resolution structure by high-field NMR.

Mangrove ecosystems are one of the most versatile habitats for microorganisms with a high potential for producing a variety of extracellular hydrolytic *** this study,bacteria with urease activity,enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of urea into carbon dioxide and ammonia,were isolated from mangrove sediments of Poovar(Trivandrum,India).Bacillus halodurans,strain PO15,isolated in this study with high urease(UA)activity(28 U/ml)was subjected to optimization using a Box-Behnken experimental *** variables included incubation period,pH,inoculation percentage and *** factors identified based on the model were incubation period,pH,incubation temperature,and inoculum percentage;variations in these produced a tenfold increase in UA activity(295.80 U/ml).The specific activity of the purified UA enzyme was 62.34 U/mg and was found to be thermostable(active up to 60℃).UA of *** PO15 has potential for microbial-induced biomineralization with a reduction of free Ca^2+ to about 82.8%±0.17%.The microbialinduced calcium precipitation(MICP)using the UA enzyme will potentially be beneficial in the process of biomineralization as well as for a variety of industrial applications.

BACKGROUND Acquired haemophilia is a rare coagulation disorder characterized by autoantibodies against coagulation factor VIII leading to severe and potentially life-threatening *** underlying disorder causing the development of an autoimmune phenomenon is not always known,but 10%-15%could be linked to *** with cancer who require surgical resection represent a treatment challenge not solely due to increased risk of bleeding but also due to adverse events of immunosuppressive *** SUMMARY We present the case of a 67-year-old man with non-metastatic adenocarcinoma of the distal bile duct who developed concomitant acquired haemophilia a month after having been diagnosed with malignant *** was established with recombinant activated factor VII,and immunosuppressive therapy was started *** extensive surgical procedure was performed in order to remove the cancer and,therefore,eliminate the inhibitory *** to a complicated postoperative course,relatively short period of treatment and likelihood of micrometastases,no improvement in the patient’s status was *** and treatment of acquired haemophilia as well as other coagulation disorders in patients with cancer are *** Prompt diagnosis of acquired haemophilia is required in order to start appropriate treatment and reduce *** patients with cancer,other causes of abnormal bleeding related to malignancy should be considered.

Genetic Diversity and Structure of Tunisian Local Pear Germplasm as Revealed by SSR Markers

Growing pear has a long tradition in Tunisia, and numerous local cultivars possessing an excellent adaptability and resilience potential to climatic variation are present. This large adaptability is associated with an important genetic diversity, which is threatened to *** measures have to be taken in order to properly evaluate and conserve this local material. Microsatellite markers were used to assess the level of genetic diversity among Tunisian pear germplasm, and compare it with some European varieties and wild pear species. 61 pear accessions representing eight groups(six groups from Tunisia, one from Northern Europe and another group composed of wild pear) have been genotyped using SSR markers derived from apple and pear. The pear accessions showed a significant polymorphism and 95 polymorphic alleles were found. The number of alleles per locus varied from 5 for CH04e03 locus to 14 for CH01d09 locus with an average of 9.4 alleles per ***, the mean gene diversity(H_e) per locus ranged from 0.192 to 0.752. Genetic distance values and cluster analyses revealed high genetic similarities among the Tunisian groups. Factorial correspondence analysis(FCA) categorized the accessions into three independent groups where Tunisian local accessions agglomerated together distantly from European and wild pear accessions. Additionally, UPGMA dendrogram grouped accessions into two clusters, confirmed thereafter by the Bayesian model-based Structure analysis. The results showed 16 putative triploid accessions found in the local germplasm. This study provides valuable information to develop strategies of local pear conservation and use.
