For a long time, many scientists were keen on discovering ＂the master regulator＂ of plant senescence. However, in the last two decades, it became very clear that this ＂master regulator＂ does not exist, but an extremely complex regulatory network controls all aspects and phases of senescence. An adsorption study ofRhodamine B （RB） dye from aqueous solutions was carried out using walnut shells pretreated by different methods. In addition to the effects of the pretreatment, the effects of various parameters like pH, adsorbent dose, contact time, initial dye concentration and temperature on the adsorption of RB was studied. The adsorption process was highly pH dependent and a maximum adsorption was achieved at pH 3.0. The best fit for the rates of dye adsorption was a pseudo-second- order kinetic model with good correlation coefficients （R2〉 0.99）. Langmuir isotherms were used to determine that the maximum loading capacity of the different walnut shells and the RB capacities ranged from 1.451-2.292 mg ~ gl. The dye adsorption was also evaluated thermodyna- mically. Positive standard enthalpy （M-P） values were obtained indicating that the RB adsorption process is endothermic as well as AG~ and AS~ values showed that adsorption process is spontaneous with an increased randomness at the solid-liquid interface~ Desorption studies were carried out to explore the feasibility of regenerating the used walnut shells and it was found that 97~71%-99.17% of the retained RB was recovered with 0.1 mol＂ L 1 NaOH solution. The walnut shells were also successfully used to remove RB from industrial effluents.

Aims Plants directly and indirectly interact with many abiotic and biotic soil *** so far mostly focused on direct,indi-vidual abiotic or biotic effects on plant growth,but only few studies tested the indirect effects of abiotic soil factors on plant ***,we investigated how abiotic soil conditions affect plant performance,via changes induced by soil *** In a full-factorial experiment,we grew the widespread grass Dactylis glomerata either with or without soil biota and investigated the impact of soil temperature,fertility and moisture on the soil biota effects on plant *** measured biomass production,root traits and colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi as well as microbial *** Findings We found significant interaction effects between abiotic soil con-ditions and soil biota on plant growth for fertility,but especially for soil temperature,as an increase of 10°c significantly changed the soil biota effects on plant growth from positive to ***,if tested individually,an increase in soil temperature and fertility per se positively affected plant biomass production,whereas soil biota per se did not affect overall plant growth,but both influenced root *** affecting soil microbial activ-ity and root architecture,soil temperature might influence both mutualistic and pathogenic interactions between plants and soil *** soil temperature effects should be considered in soil feedback studies to ensure greater transferability of results from artificial and experimental conditions to natural environmental conditions.

We study the existence and uniqueness of a solution to path-dependent backward stochastic Volterra integral equations(BSVIEs)with jumps,where path-dependence means the dependence of the free term and generator of a path of a c`adl`ag ***,we prove path-differentiability of such a solution and establish the duality principle between a linear path-dependent forward stochastic Volterra integral equation(FSVIE)with jumps and a linear path-dependent BSVIE with *** a result of the duality principle we get a comparison theorem and derive a class of dynamic coherent risk measures based on path-dependent BSVIEs with jumps.
