SOCS3 dictates the transition of divergent time-phased events in granulocyte TNF-a signaling

Tumor-necrosis factor-a （TNF-a）-driven nuclear factor-KB （NF-KB） activation and apoptosis are opposing pathways; the growing recognition of these conflicting roles of TNF-a is perplexing. Here, we show that inflammation and apoptosis are time-phased events following TNF-a signaling and that emergence of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 （SOCS3） expression limits the ongoing NF-KB activation and promotes apoptosis; further, we suggest an altered view of how inflammatory diseases are initiated and sustained. In vitro, TNF-a （50 ng/ml） induced granulocyte SOCS3 protein, inhibited nuclear accumulation of the p65NF-KB subunit and enhanced apoptosis, as shown by DNA laddering, annexin V positivity, and overexpression of caspase-3 and Bax in the late phase, whereas the early phase was marked by NF-KB activation. Conversely, SOCS3 knockdown by small interfering RNA （siRNA） inhibited granulocyte apoptosis and enhanced nuclear accumulation of p65 and 5＇ lipooxygenase expression in the late phase of TNF-a signaling. As apoptosis is associated with SOCS3 abundance, we suggest that these divergent TNF-a-driven events are time-phased, interconnected, opposing control mechanisms and one of the central features through which the immune system resolves pulmonary inflammation. Dysregulation may initiate mucosal inflammation, thus changing the landscape of asthma theraov.

Optimization of CMOS Repeater Driven Interconnect RC Line Using Genetic Algorithm

In this work, optimization of complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) repeater driven interconnect resistive-capacitive (RC) line is carried out using genetic algorithm (GA). This work is aimed at powerdelay- product (PDP) minimization of RC interconnect at 180 nm technology node. The algorithm simultaneously optimizes the values of supply voltage, number of repeaters and repeater width for delay and PDP minimization. The accuracy of results obtained is verified by simulations from Cadence virtuoso tool. For delay minimization, comparison of GA results with previous results of the literature shows an improvement of 44.4% in the value of the optimal number of repeaters required. This improvement is obtained by increasing the repeater size, which also increases power dissipation, so a tradeoff has also been achieved in terms of PDP minimization. The comparison of PDP results obtained in this work, with the results at 70, 100, and 130 nm technologies from literature shows improvement in optimal number of repeaters required. The results of algorithm and simulations are in good agreement and demonstrate the validity of proposed algorithm. © 2017, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Transplacental haemorrhage in women having third trimester bleeding and perinatal outcome

Objectives: Present prospective study was carried out to know the frequency of transplacental fetomaternal hemorrhage in pregnancies complicated by third trimester vaginal bleeding and it’s correlation with fetoneonatal outcome. Material methods: One hundred, out of 170 Rh-positive primigravida/multigravida with singleton pregnancy of more than 28 weeks gestation, admitted with third trimester vaginal bleeding with no other obstetric disorder, were the study subjects and 100 controls were women with no bleeding, admitted immediately after the study case with same inclusion and exclusion criteria. Maternal peripheral blood was collected at admission and at 2 hours of delivery and volume of FMH was calculated by Kleihauer’s formula. Results: Statistically significantly more perinatal deaths occurred in women with FMH, 35% in study subjects compared to 2.7% amongst controls. Conclusion: In the cases of third trimester bleeding and fetomaternal hemorrhage, chances of perinatal deaths are more.

Marketing of sustainable products through digital media platform is becoming a new norm these days. Digital media has proved itself to be very helpful in educating and engaging the consumers with latest trends and make them aware of the current issues prevailing in the fashion industry. It also provides a wonderful platform for building relationship between consumers and organizations. Digital Media is helping the fashion industry to bring green in vogue. A lot of pollution is attributed to the environment by the apparel and textile industry. Big Brands are changing to environmental and market demand by focusing more towards ethical business practices, sustainability, use of organic fabrics, producing recycled or recyclable product offerings and spreading awareness about them through digital media. For the benefit of environment, consumer’s interest has also witnessed a marked shift towards Slow *** the onset of digital media most of the sustainable fashion brands have started to put the promotional campaigns on digital media. A huge number of sustainable fashion brand stories are available on Instagram for consumers to connect with them. Some brands have started to put up their stories on the blogs for consumers to read and get connected. Some sustainable brands have put up their entire collection on their website for consumers to shop online by offering them with discounts whereas others have released their shopabble magazines.
