Intensive a.olia. processes occur due to the sca.city of ra.nfa.l a.d la.k of vegeta.ion cover in a.id regions. The study of recent surfa.e sediments in a.id a.ea. is importa.t for environmenta. a.sessments, eva.ua.ion of na.ura. resources, a.d la.d use pla.ning. In this study, two a.ea. were chosen a. they show cha.ges in lithology, environment a.d la.dforms. The two study a.ea. a.e a.-Ra.da.a.n in the northern pa.t, a.d a.-Ma.a.ish in the southern pa.t of Kuwa.t. The current study a.ms to define the sedimentomorphic zones in these a.ea., with a. empha.is on Qua.erna.y geomorphologica. evolution by providing a. integra.ed a.proa.h ba.ed on sa.ellite ima.es, topogra.hic ma.s, field mea.urements, a.d la.ora.ory a.a.ysis. Remote sensing da.a.were spa.ia.ly a.a.yzed to cla.sify a.d detect the tempora. cha.ges in the surfa.e sediments a.d geomorphology ba.ed on the field mea.urements (n = 42) a. ground truthing points for supervising the cla.sifica.ion. Sa.ples from both a.ea. were collected a.d subjected to gra.n size (dry mecha.ica. sieving) a.d X-Ra. Diffra.tion (XRD) a.a.ysis. The resulting da.a.were sta.istica.ly a.a.yzed for gra.n size distributions a.d minera.ogy ba.ed on the US sta.da.d set of sieves. The study found tha. the a.olia. sa.d sheet deposits a.e the most frequent recent surfa.e deposits in Kuwa.t a.d cover most of the other sediments. The direction of movement of the sa.d sheets is from NW towa.ds SE. The minera.ogica. composition of the a.olia. recent surfa.e sediments revea.ed tha. they a.e mostly derived from the Dibdibba.Forma.ion a.d Tigris-Euphra.es fluvia. terra.e deposits. Qua.tz is the most frequent component of the studied surfa.e sediments in the study a.ea. (66%). The ca.cite minera. is a.so found in subordina.e a.ounts in the study a.ea. (10%).
