Hybrid LES/rANS Simulations of Compressible Flow in a Linear Cascade of Flat Blade Profiles

The paper reports on 3D numerical simulations of unsteady compressible airflow in a blade cascade consisting of flat profiles using a hybrid LES/rANS approach including a transition *** a first step towards simulation of blade flutter in turbomachinery,various incidence angle offsets of the middle blade were *** simulations were run for the flow regime characterized by outlet isentropic mach number m_(is)=0.5and zero *** results of the LES/rANS simulations(pressure and mach number distributions)were compared to a baseline rANS model,and to experimental data measured in a high-speed wind *** numerical results show that both methods overpredict flow separation taking place at the leading *** this regard,the hybrid LES/rANS method does not provide superior results compared to the traditional rANS ***,the LES/rANS results also capture vortex shedding from the blunt trailing *** frequency of the trailing edge vortex shedding in CFD simulations matches perfectly the spectral peak recorded during wind tunnel measurements.

The subject of the paper is the numerical simulation of the interaction of two-dimensional incompressible viscous flow and a vibrating airfoil with large *** airfoil with three degrees of freedom performs rotation around an elastic axis,oscillations in the vertical direction and rotation of a *** numerical simulation consists of the finite element solution of the reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations combined with Spalart-Allmaras or k−ω turbulence models,coupled with a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations describing the airfoil motion with consideration of large *** time-dependent computational domain and approximation on a moving grid are treated by the Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian formulation of the flow *** to large values of the involved reynolds numbers an application of a suitable stabilization of the finite element discretization is *** developed method is used for the computation of flow-induced oscillations of the airfoil near the flutter instability,when the displacements of the airfoil are large,up to±40 degrees in *** paper contains the comparison of the numerical results obtained by both turbulence models.

We report on an experiment performed at the FLASH2 free-electron laser(FEL)aimed at producing warm dense matter via soft x-ray isochoric *** the experiment,we focus on study of the ions emitted during the soft x-ray ablation process using time-of-flight electron multipliers and a shifted maxwell–Boltzmann velocity distribution *** find that most emitted ions are thermal,but that some impurities chemisorbed on the target surface,such as protons,are accelerated by the electrostatic field created in the plasma by escaped *** morphology of the complex crater structure indicates the presence of several ion groups with varying *** find that the ion sound velocity is controlled by the ion temperature and show how the ion yield depends on the FEL radiation attenuation length in different materials.

Numerical Simulation of Separated Flows in Channels

The work deals with numerical modelling of turbulent flows in channels with an expansion of the cross-section where flow separation and reattachment occur. The performance of several eddy viscosity models and an explicit algebraic reynolds stress model (EArSm) is studied. The used test cases are flows in channels with various backward facing steps where the step is perpendicular or inclined and the top wall is parallel or deflected. Furthermore, a channel with the circular ramp is considered. The numerical solution is achieved by the finite volume method or by the finite element method. The results of both numerical approaches are compared.

With mercury modified copper solid amalgam electrode （inner diameter 1.5 mm）, the voltammetric behavior of thiram was studied. Differential pulse voltammetry （DPV） and direct current voltammetry （DCV） were utilized for this purpose. The reaction mechanism was investigated using DCV and elimination voltammetry with linear scan （EVLS）. The optimum conditions for DPV determination of thiram were found in Britton-robinson （Br） buffer of pH = 5, initial potential Ein = +100 mV and accumulation potential Eacc = -200 mV vs. Ag/AgCl/3m KCl, scan rate 20 mV.s-1 . Applying prolonged accumulation time （100 s）, the limit of detection 3×10-9 mol.L-1 was reached.
