The use of biochar can have several effects on plant germination,depending on raw material,preparation method and application ***,the molecular mechanisms that lead to those results have yet to be *** aim of this research was to improve the understanding of these mechanisms by characterizing the metabolic effects of sugarcane bagasse biochar on soybean *** types of biochars were prepared by pyrolysis at 300℃(ScB300),400℃(ScB400)and 600℃(ScB600).Then,each one was mixed into sand at 1%,3%,5%(w/w)dose,*** experiment was performed in 8 days of incubation,when the number of germinated seeds and the average radicle length were *** evaluate the metabolome,the dry biomass(DB)was subjected to extraction with a mixture of methanol-d4 and D2O(1:1 v/v).The extracts were submitted to metabolomics analysis by Proton Nuclear Magnetic *** Relative Germination,Relative Average Radicle Growth and Germination Index increased in all treatments compared to *** the other hand,the DB increased in all treatments,except for ScB300,at doses of 1%and 3%w/*** metabolites(alanine,asparagine,acetic acid,citric acid,glycerol,fatty acids and sucrose)were identified and quantified in DB extracts as the most influential finding for the separation of *** together,these results strongly suggested that biochars accelerated the catabolism of triacylglycerols to sucrose and induced a slight osmotic stress.

Dear editor,Dysregulated inflammatory responses primarily account for damage to the central nervous system,however,neurodegenerative processes likely contribute to the pathophysiology of progressive forms of multiple sclerosis(MS).These pathophysiological aspects include axonal energy depletion and impaired remyelination capacity(levin et al.,2014).The clinical efficacy of most disease-modifying therapies in MS to date has been achieved by targeting functions of the adaptive immune system(cree et al.,2019;Szepanowski et al.,2021).

Analysis of the genotoxic potential of low concentrations of Malathion on the Allium cepa cells and rat hepatoma tissue culture

Based on the concentration of Malathion used in the field, we evaluated the genotoxic potential of low concentrations of this insecticide on meristematic and F1 cells of Allium cepa and on rat hepatoma tissue culture（HTc cells）. In the A. cepa, chromosomal aberrations（cAs）, micronuclei（MN）, and mitotic index（MI） were evaluated by exposing the cells at 1.5,0.75, 0.37, and 0.18 mg/m l of Malathion for 24 and 48 hr of exposure and 48 hr of recovery time. The results showed that all concentrations were genotoxic to A. cepa cells. However,the analysis of the MI has showed non-relevant effects. chromosomal bridges were the cA more frequently induced, indicating the clastogenic action of Malathion. After the recovery period, the higher concentrations continued to induce genotoxic effects, unlike the observed for the lowest concentrations tested. In HTc cells, the genotoxicity of Malathion was evaluated by the MN test and the comet assay by exposing the cells at 0.09, 0.009, and0.0009 mg/5 m l culture medium, for 24 hr of exposure. In the comet assay, all the concentrations induced genotoxicity in the HTc cells. In the MN test, no significant induction of MN was observed. The genotoxicity induced by the low concentrations of Malathion presented in this work highlights the importance of studying the effects of low concentrations of this pesticide and demonstrates the efficiency of these two test systems for the detection of genetic damage promoted by Malathion.

<正>Objectives:The purpose of this work was to study the infection course and cross-protection in mice after intradermal injection of Vaccinia virus(VAcV) strain Western Reserve and three Brazilian VAcV strains: Aracatuba,Muriae and BeAn58058 isolated from cow,human and rodent,***:Balb/c mice were inoculated by footpad and back scarification and daily monitored regarding lesion development and weight *** check cross protection after intradermal VAcV inoculation,mice were subsequendy infected with different VAcV strains and monitored to check lesion *** neutralization assays were performed to check for the presence of antibodies against ***:After VAcV intradermal inoculation the lesion development pattern was similar in mice infected with the different virus *** using the footpad scarification model,cross-protection among VAcV strains was ***,neutralizing antibodies against Orthopoxvirus were detected in sera from mice infected with all VAcV ***:Although it was not possible to observe virulence differences among VAcV strains isolated from cow,rodent and human using the murine model,this inoculation route showed to be an appropriated model to study lesions development since it mimics natural infections by VAcV in nature.

Development of Biobased Poly(lactic Acid)/Epoxidized Natural Rubber Blends Processed by Electrospinning: Morphological, Structural and Thermal Properties

This article reports the production of electrospun fibers from blends of poly(lactic acid) (PlA) and epoxidized natural rubber (ENR) solutions. The produced fibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSc), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). SEM images showed the reduction in fiber size with ENR content of up to 25% in the mixture PlA/ENR. FTIR analysis revealed a possible interaction between carboxylic group of PlA and epoxi group of ENR. Thermal analysis showed the increase of the crystallinity fraction with ENR content and a decrease in thermal stability of eletrospun mats with the addition of ENR. The dynamic mechanical properties showed an enhancement of the stiffness of PlA/ENR blends with the increase of ENR content, which can support the production of interesting materials for tissue engineering based on renewable and biocompatible polymers. The reported properties indicate the possibility to use such fiber mats as potential materials in tissue engineering.

Background: Identifying factors associated with physical activity(PA) is useful in planning interventions and policies. The aim of this study was to identify sociodemographic, biological, and psychosocial factors associated with PA performed in school ***: Data collected for the present study included gender, age, socioeconomic status, body fat percentage, aerobic fitness, self-efficacy, attitudes,peer and parental support, and perception of school environment. Dependent variables were light-intensity PA(lPA) and moderate-to-vigorousintensity PA(MVPA) performed during school time, recesses, and physical education(PE) classes. Multiple regression analyses were ***: Participating adolescents(n = 567, 53% female, 12.9 ± 5.3 years) spent 5% of school time in MVPA and 27% in lPA, 15% of recesses in MVPA and 44% in lPA, and 16% of PE classes in MVPA and 41% in lPA. Boys engaged in more MVPA in all categories. Age was inversely related with MVPA and lPA in all periods, whereas body fat percentage was inversely related with MVPA in school time and PE classes. Attitude was inversely related with MVPA in all periods and with lPA in recesses. considering PA to be good and enjoyable was positively associated with MVPA in school ***: Adolescents spent little time in PA during school. Future interventions should implement enjoyable activities at school.
