The conversion of solar energy to produce clean hydrogen fuel through water splitting is an em.rging strategy for efficiently storing solar energy in the form.of solar *** aligns with the increasing global dem.nd for the developm.nt of an ideal energy alternative to fossil fuels that does not em.t greenhouse ***(EC) and photoelectrochem.cal(PEC) water splitting technologies have garnered significant attention worldwide for advanced hydrogen solar fuel production in recent *** achieve sustainable green H_(2) production,it is essential to create efficient catalyst m.terials that are low-cost and can replace expensive noble m.tal-based *** characteristics m.ke them.an ideal catalyst m.terial for the ***-dim.nsional m.enes with m.(n+1)X_(n) structure have been identified as a prom.sing option for EC and PEC water splitting due to their superior hydrophilicity,m.tal-like conductivity,large surface area,and adjustable surface ***,we present a sum.ary of recent advancem.nts in the synthesis and perform.nce enhancem.nt m.thods for m.ene hybrid m.terials in hydrogen production through EC and PEC water ***,we exam.ne the challenges and insights associated with the rational design of m.ene-based hybrid m.terials to facilitate efficient water splitting for sustainable solar fuel production.

Incorporation of higher content Si anode m.terial beyond 5 wt% to Li-ion batteries(LIBs)is challenging,owing to large volum. change,swelling,and solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)instability ***,a strategy of diacetoxydim.thylsilane(DAm.)additive-directed SEI stabilization is proposed for a stable operation of Si-0.33FeSi_(2)(nam.d as Si-Fe)anode without graphite,which provides siloxane inorganics and organics enrichm.nt that com.ensate insufficient passivation of fluoroethylene carbonate(FEC)additive and reduce a dependence on *** stable cycling perform.nce of highly loaded(3.5 m. h cm.(-2))pure Si-Fe anode is achieved with 2 wt%DAm. com.ined with 9 wt%FEC additives under am.ient pressure,yielding high capacity 1270 m. h g^(-1)at 0.5 C and significantly im.roved capacity retention of 81% after 100 cycles,whereas short circuit and rapid capacity fade occur with FEC only ***-directed robust SEI layer dram.tically suppresses swelling and particles crossover through separator,and therefore prevents short circuit,dem.nstrating a possible operation of pure Si or Sidom.nant anodes in the next-generation high-energy-density and safe LIBs.

Bi2Te3-based m.terials have drawn m.ch attention from.the therm.electric com.unity due to their excellent therm.electric perform.nce near room.***,the stability of existing n-type Bi2（Te,Se）3m.terials is still low due to the evaporation energy of Se (37.70 kJ m.l-1) being m.ch lower than that of Te (52.55 kJ m.l-1).The evaporated Se from.the m.terial causes problem. in interconnects of the m.dule while degrading the efficiency.

This paper exam.nes the quasi-static cyclic behavior, lateral strength and equivalent dam.ing capacities of a system.of post-tensioned segm.ntal bridge colum.s tied with large diam.ter m.rtensitic Shape m.m.ry Alloy （Sm.） link-bars. m.m.nt-curvature constitutive relationships are form.lated and analysis tools are developed for the PT colum., including a m.dified four-spring m.del prepared for the Sm. bars. The suggested system.is exem.lified using a colum. with an aspect ratio of 7.5 and twelve 36.5 m. diam.ter NiTi m.rtensitic Sm. bars. A post-tensioning force of 40% to 60% of the tendon yield strength is applied in order to obtain a self re-centering system. considering the residual stress of the m.rtensitie Sm. bars. The cyclic response results show that the lateral strength rem.ins consistently around 10% of the total vertical load and the equivalent viscous dam.ing ratios reach 10%-12% of critical. When large diam.ter NiTi superelastic Sm. bars are incorporated into the colum. system. the cyclic response varies substantially. The creep behavior of the superelastic Sm. bar is accounted for since it affects the re-centering capability of the colum.. Two exam.les are presented to em.hasize the m.deling sensitivities for these special bars and quantify their cyclic behavior effects within the colum. assem.ly.

Discrete choice m.dels are widely used in m.ltiple sectors such as transportation, health, energy, and m.rketing, etc., where the m.del estim.tion is usually carried out by using com.ercial software. Nonetheless, tailored com.uter codes offer m.dellers greater flexibility and control of unique m.delling situation. Aligned with em.irically tailored com.uting environm.nt, this research discusses the relative perform.nce of six different algorithm. of a discrete choice m.del using three key perform.nce m.asures： convergence tim., num.er of iterations, and iteration tim.. The com.uter codes are developed by using Visual Basic Application （VBA）. m.xim.m.likelihood function （m.F） is form.lated and the m.them.tical relationships of gradient and Hessian m.trix are analytically derived to carry out the estim.tion process. The estim.ted param.ter values clearly suggest that convergence criterion and initial guessing of param.ters are the two critical factors in determ.ning the overall estim.tion perform.nce of a custom.built discrete choice m.del.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of obesity and aerobic exercise training on oxidant-antioxidant balance,neurotrophic factor levels, and blood-brain barrier(BBB) ***: Ten non-obese healthy m.n(body m.ss index m.) and 10 obese m.n(body m.ss index ≥ 25 kg/m.) were included in the *** groups perform.d treadm.ll exercise for 40 m.n 3 tim.s weekly for 8 weeks at 70% heart rate reserve. Blood sam.les were collected to exam.ne oxidant-antioxidant balance(reactive oxygen species(ROS) and superoxide dism.tase(SOD) activity levels), neurotrophic factors(brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF), nerve growth factor, and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor levels), and BBB function(S100βand neuron-specific enolase(NSE) levels) before and after exercise ***: The obese group showed significantly greater changes than the non-obese group in serum.ROS(-0.46 ± 0.31 m.ol/L vs.-0.10 ±0.17 m.ol/L,p=0.005),serum.S100 p levels(-8.50 ± 5.92 ng/L vs.-0.78 ± 5.45 ng/L,p=0.007),and serum.NSE levels(-0.89 ± 0.54 μg/L vs.-0.01 ± 0.74 μg/L,p= 0.007) after training. At baseline,the obese group showed significantly higher serum.ROS and S100β levels and significantly lower serum.SOD activity and BDNF levels than the non-obese group(p m.ROS, S100β,and NSE levels and significantly higher serum.SOD activity and BDNF levels after training com.ared with baseline(p m.neurotrophic factor levels and can induce BBB dysfunction. On the other hand,aerobic exercise can im.rove an oxidant-antioxidant im.alance in obese subjects and lim.t BBB dysfunction.

Effects of three consecutive m.nthly intravitreal injection of ranibizum.b for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy in Korea

AIm. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of three consecutive m.nthly injections of intravitreal ranibizum.b for the treatm.nt of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy(PCV) in ***: A retrospective chart review of 25 patients(27 eyes) with PCV was conducted. Patients received three initial m.nthly intravitreal injections(0.5 m.) of ranibizum.b and were m.nitored m.nthly for 12 m. from.January 2010 to October 2011. Reinjection of ranibizum.b after three initial m.nthly loading was adm.nistered on an as-needed basis, guided by the optical coherence tom.graphy(OCT), fluorescein angiography(FA) and indocyanine green angiography(ICGA). The m.in outcom.s were the changes of the m.an best corrected Snellen visual acuity(VA), central m.cular thickness(Cm.) by OCT, the changes of polyps and branching vascular network by FA and ICGA, and total num.er of injections received by patients during the 12 ***: The m.an best corrected Snellen visual acuities at baseline, 1, 3, 6 and 12 m. after prim.ry injection were 0.77 ±0.59, 0.76 ±0.53, 0.70 ±0.47, 0.63 ±0.43,0.61 ±0.43, 0.62 ±0.42 log m.R, respectively, and showed significant im.rovem.nt at 3, 6, 12m.(P =0.003, P =0.002,P =0.018, Wilcoxon signed-rank test). The m.an Cm. at baseline, 1, 2, 3, 6, and 12 m. was 312.41 ±66.38 μm.244.59 ±71.47 μm. 232.32 ±69.41 μm. 226.69 ±69.03 μm.228.62 ±37.07 μm. 227.59 ±51.01 μm.respectively, and showed significant reduction(all P m.ined in all 24 eyes(88.9%). A total of 106 injections were given in the 12-m.nth period, which equaled to a m.an of 3.92(range, 3-6) tim.s. Sixteen of the 27 treatedeyes had additional 1.56 ±0.91 injections. Sandwich-type ordered m.soporous carbon/graphene nanocom.osites were successfully synthesized using 2D ordered m.soporous silica/graphene nanocom.osites as the hard tem.late and an ionic liquid as a N-rich carbon source. We used an ionic liquid of 1-(3-cyanopropyl)-3-m.thylim.dazolium.dicyanam.de containing nitrile groups (–CN) in the cation and anion as a carbon precursor for the preparation of the nanocom.osites. Nitriles do not decom.ose under therm.l treatm.nt in an inert gas atm.sphere, but leave significant am.unts of N-rich carbon m.terials. The nanocom.osites had a large surface area (1,316 m.·g–1), an average pore diam.ter of 5.9 nm. and high electrical conductivity. The nanocom.osite electrode showed a high specific capacitance of 190 F·g–1at 0.5 A·g–1in 1 m.TEABF4/AN electrolyte and a good rate capability between 0 and 2.7 V for supercapacitor (or ultracapacitor) applications.
